A very good game.

First of all I am a huge Lord of the Rings fan. So when this came out I had to buy it. I have to save that it is a good game. One thing is that on the Playstation 2 and the Xbox games you only get to play with 3 people, Gimli, Aragorn, and Legolas. But, on this you have the choice of Frodo, the one who carries the ring and has the ablilities to wear the ring and become invisible. Also you have Aragorn, who has a very powerful sword move and has the ability to carry two swords at once. There is also Legolas who has the ability to shoot arrows very far away without the enemies attacking you. He can also shoot two arrows at once and kill enemies with one hit. There is Eowyn who is the King's daughter and she uses a sword. Last but not least, Gandalf. He is a wizard with the ability to shoot fireworks with his staff and he also carries a sword. There are over a hundred levels, (almost 30 for each person.) There are several different enemies such as the cavetrolls in Fangorn Forrest and Balin's Tomb. There are forrest trolls which aren't as strong but they are a lot faster. There are cave goblins, orcs and Ura Khai. At the end of almost each level there is a hero villian, who is very strong and has better weaponry. If you don't want to buy the game because it will give the whole movie away, you can still buy it. There are only very few bits and pieces of the movie and it just shows stuff on the commercials.

The only complaints that I have is that the levels are a bit long and also quite confusing. The lighting is dark in some spots so you might want to get a light or by a Gameboy Advance SP. The music is very good and it is from the soundtrack or what you would hear on the movie. The view of your person is like on Diablo,(an overhead look, like if you were looking down from a helicopter.) The graphics aren't the best but you can tell the good guys from the bad guys. If you are going to buy the game for graphics buy it on Playstation 2 or Xbox. But, If you want to buy it for a longer lasting game and more fun, (which I think it is more fun), than buy this one. I give this game a full 5 stars.

Awesome game...even for beginners!!

This game is absolutely fantastic!!... I have never been one to get into the gaming platforms, but I bought a GBA after Thanksgiving and even I can play this game!! This game has outstanding graphics! It's got scenes from the movie and is of exceptional quality!! I have already played it all the way through as Legolas and am now working on Aragorn. Beginning gamers will be hooked. It doesn't have complicated instructions and once you start playing, you won't want to stop. It's easy game play, the different levels are so cool, plus you get to collect gems and some very cool tools and supplies. I highly recommend this game. I give this game an A+++++++++++

The Lord of The Rings : The Two Towers Gameboy Advanced game, is one of the exceptional role-playing games on the market. The detail given to the scene, characters, and script are as if you are sitting in a theatre playing the game. You can chose from five of the main players (Gandalf-staff, Aragorn-sword, Frodo-sword, Legolas-bow and arrows, or Eowin-sword.) and take yourself as a character through different settings of the book and movie. I thouroughly enjoyed this game for all the reasons listed above.

Very nifty.

Please forgive me if I am repetitive, or give too many spoilers. So far, I have finished the game as Legolas and Aragorn, I have played a little bit as Eowyn, and have almost finished as Frodo. The nice thing about this game is that you never get quite the same story lines for each character. The boys start out in Cahadras, but as soon as they're inside the Mines of Moria, the story lines start to change for each individual. For Eowyn, the story starts in Rohan, where Eowyn sets out with her brother and his soliders to find their wounded cousin, Theodred. The problem with the Eowyn game is in the town hall, where Eowyn has to defeat an Uruk-Hai seargeant (sp?) There is this red Uruk-Hai that cannot be knocked down, no matter how hard I try! It's nice that they are courting the female demographic (rare for games like these) but it doesn't have to be quite so difficult. However, that is the biggest problem that I have found with this game, and the male characters are a lot of fun to play as.
There are many other features of this game that I like, but they have already been stated (except for the fact that the soundtrack is very nice and dramatic.)

wow!

well I dont like that you can only swing your blade one time instead of combos. But this is a fun game to play even if you dont like LOTR you will enjoy it.You can also play as Gandalf,
Aragon,Legolas,Frodo, and Edowyn.Creatures pop up out of nowhere
and it gets you excited. You can pick up items such as super
swords or strong bows and equip them with your person.
You go up levels in the game by how many you kill and you
collect gems and use them to buy upgrade points.

I never thought EA could make such an exciting game! But they did!!!!!!!!

This is a great instalment from movie to game. The fun is endless. With five characters and over 100 levels(yes it's true) no wonder I was tempted. It's a 3D style game and it has so much to entertain. With enemies ranging from the numerous goblins (who always attack in numbers) to the ferocious uruk-hai. It takes in the Fellowship of the Ring and The two towers. So you will be able to reinact some of the memorable moments of the first film as well such as The Battle of Balins Tomb and the breaking of the fellowship at Amon Hen. All throughout the game you will just have to hack n slash your way through reams of enemies as you find your way through lavishly detailed levels. The gameplay itself is great and the extra skills you have help to juice it up big time. The boss fights and the major battles are a true aspect of this game. The fight with the cave troll is great fun and then Gandalf gets to fight the Balrog in the depths of Moria. That was a feature that the PS2 game failed to deliver. The battle of the Helms Deep featured some my most exciting levels in the game. Defending the walls from being overrun and protecting the breach from uruk-hai was just like watching the film and being in it. Thumbs-up to EA for a great game the size of nothing(the cartridge i mean). And another thing this game started me off getting really into Lord of the Rings. I knew nothing about it beforehand. I would most definetly recommend this game to any gamer. It's definetly worth it. The Return of the King game is even better than this I'll have you know. And we won't be too harsh on EA for making the goblins look and sound like evil monkeys. Bye

GRAPHICS: Not probably, not maybe, but the best graphics on a hand held. Ever. There are actual clips from the movie in the game, and even without them, the detail is amazing. The balrog flames, Caves collapse without warning, and Legolas' hair swishes in beatiful color. I have no complaint about the graphics at all.

SOUND/MUSIC: Once again, the music is excellent, the ominous booming at the arrival of the cave troll shouldn't be missed. Unlike many GBA games, LOTR has no sound bugs at all. Unfortunately, as beautiful as the music is, there arent as many songs as I'd like, and the get repetitive near the end of the game.

GAMEPLAY: Every roleplaying game in the world is somehow based on LOTR, its true. So of course everyone is going to be extremely critical of the combat system. Fortunately, it has a great system that has the depth, but not confusing details of Dungeons and Dragons, and a skill system that offers a huge number of ways to customize your character. My onely complaint is that the manual doesnt really explain it very well, but any roleplayer will pick it up in a flash. (the rest of you may need 3 or 4 minutes to get the hang of it)

OVERALL: This game is a serious contender for

First of all, this game is almost exactly like the movie. Second, it has the best graphics I have seen yet from a gameboy Advance.
You start out with five playable characters (Frodo, Gandalf, Eowyn, Aragorn, and Legolas), but when you beat it with two, and then go to multiplayer and choose an empty slot, you can start with a brand fresh Gimli character.
Throughout the game, there are the regular items (amulets, ringmail), but as you get on further, there are a lot better of items (emerald amulet, goblin tempered ringmail). And, there is also different items called artifacts. They are the big-time when it comes to an achievement. If you collect them all, they give you the Misty Mountains level on Multiplayer.
Overall, it has a few glitches (getting "stuck" in the landscape, inadequate map, repetitive orcs and noises) and once in a while, the character grunts or chi's and it is quite annoying. That's why I like Legolas, there's no grunting part about a bow.
It is a game that fans of the book would not like that much, but with the movie scenes in it, it is a truly memorable game.

Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers is a Role-Playing-Game for the Gameboy Advance. Its one of the most sophisticated games to appear for the Gameboy Advance unit, graphics and gameplay-wise. Its one of the best handheld gaming experiances I ever had, and It is an excellent companion to the books.

The graphics are definetely top-notch. You will explore environments from snowy mountains to grassy plains. You will have to encounter enemies from the flaming balrog to the snivveling goblins of Mordor. Graphically, I have no complaints at all.

The music adds a huge immersment factor to the game. If you play the game with a pair of headphones (which I reccomend), you will be fully amazed by the sound and music. When you enter the tomb of Balin, you hear the ominous drum beat....BOOM!....BOOM!...Then, as you walk nearer to the tomb, the door behind you explodes....BOOM! My only complaint about the sound is, even though the music is great, there are only 3 or 4 songs. For a game this long, I wish they had included more. Apart from that minor complaint, the sound is great.

Gameplay is excellent. You have access to Gandalf, Frodo, Legolas, Eowyn, and Aragorn, so there is plenty of replayability. Each caracter has skills and stats that you can change. The stats are basic Role-Playing-Game stuff: Strength, Wisdom, Health, ETC. The skills however, are much more interesting. The skills offer a unique way to customize your character over the 20 or so levels. Using your skills, you can heal your caracter, summon an animal friend to help you, cast powerful spells, use multiple weapons, and even summon othe members of the Fellowship! My only gameplay complaint is that the gameplay gets repetitive your second or third time playing through the game. Once again, the only reason such a minor complaint is noticed is because the rest of the game is so good!

I recommend The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers to anyone with a gameboy advance, and a love of great games.
