OK Graphics, Disgusting Gameplay. Pass this one up.

I expected much more from a 32-bit platform. The gameplay is just horrid, after about 15 minutes of play, you begin to realize that this is going to be more annoying repetition than anything else. After the first two levels, the game gets incredibly difficult. Not the welcome "challenging" kind of difficult, but the annoying "impossible difficult" that requires you to go through each level 30 times and memorize where every monster comes from just so you can survive and do it again, then start all over from the beginning if you didn't find all the gems or hostages. The controls are difficult; the game requires you to have fast reflexes, but Sia's attacks take way too long to recover from, often resulting in an unavoidable loss of life. The game's sound effects are tolerable, but you'll quickly want to turn the bland and repetitive music off. Younger children may enjoy this game, it's simple enough, and they don't mind playing for hours on end and not getting anywhere. Save your money, or spend it on one of the more popular and playable GBA games out there.

Sia Warrior Princess, Disney Cartoonish and side scrolling

Welcome to the world of Sia, Warrior Princess! A side scrolling animated adventure, as you of course are Lady Sia on a mission, saving hostages, collecting diamonds and going against the bad guys of your castle realm! Keep in mind, because this is an animated type game, these "bad guys" are bears with swords, rouge mice, giant bee men and so on. The bad guys also number in the 100s, and you can only slash them, so it gets very boring and tedious! The game is solid, it has a rich plot for kids to follow easily, and between levels is a very good animated story to show what's happening. The animation is incredible, but it looks like your watching a cartoon when you play (Disney cartoonish). Which may shut out older players, along with the fact that the game is quite easy to play and get the hang of, jump and slash that's it! Because of that fact it gets very tough on the thumbs! Ouch. Bottom line is fantastic for children, but then for older players, please skip it.

Mediocre game at best. The controls are clumsy, and it has a very strong half-finished feel. Bosses range from childish to mind bending, as do the levels. Good animation that's difficulf to see (like most GBA games) in low light, run-of-the-mill story. Music is fun to listen to, though. However, you can play the game in German, so that's a plus. All in all, don't buy if you're a heavy gamer, but not bad for little kids and people who don't know better.

A side-scroller? Fun?

When I started playing this, I was somewhat disappointed by its mindless side-scrolling hack-and-slash action. It seemed a lot like Donkey Kong Country with a somewhat more attractive protagonist (if you want to argue this point, go right on ahead). However, for some reason, I can't seem to stop playing! I am at a loss to explain it, but it must be good then, right?

The first thing you'll probably notice about Lady Sia is that it's pretty tough. You aren't able to take a whole lot of damage, and there's plenty of things to deal it out to you. I've never been able to pass a level without dying at least once (yes, I even bought it on the first one), and oftentimes the only way to get past all the obstacles is to simply memorize where they are and what to do.

There are, however, quite a few ways you can go about defeating your enemies. You can use magic, special moves, or just charge in and hack them all up. Sometimes you get to ride a big white bird that can pick up guys and drop them into the ubiquitous abyss that has been a mainstay of these games since Super Mario Bros. came out.

When it comes down to it, Lady Sia has decent graphics and an odd charm, and is worth your investment of time and effort. The plot might be a bit simple, but it doesn't seem to be a big issue even for an RPG fan like myself. This game isn't an experiment in subtlety or revolutionary gameplay. It's a classic arcade sidescroller with good old hack-and-slash action.

Lady Sia

Lady Sia is an excellent game, although quite challenging. You go through the levels battling t'soas, trying to free prisoners. I recommened this game if you have a lot of time on your hands, since this game can get pretty addicting. So far, I've only made it past the first level, which isn't that difficult. It's the next level that I'm struggling with.

Lady Sia is a really nice game. The graphics are very cute, designed after Japanese anime. The controls are quite simple, and the in-game walkthrough is quite helpful. However, you can really get bombarded by enemies and magic spells and have to redo the level 100,000x to defeat them, ladders are a bit tricky to find, you get pressured to get a PERFECT score and I've encountered a glitch at the T'soa airport. Overall, Lady Sia is a pretty fun game for ages 8-12. I reccommend it.

A fun new story in a familiar package

A typical 2D game, the gameplay in Lady Sia is full of jumping, slashing, shooting, and finding your way though a maze filled with a variety of baddies. The twist is that the game shows of the 32-bit platform well. As in classic cell animation, there are several layers of animation which give an illusion of depth as they scroll at different rates. The puzzles are challenging, but you have the chance to go back and retry levels you've already finished. (This is really nice once you get your sword and ring back!) Finish all the levels in a world with ratings of 100, and you get access to hidden worlds.

Not too tough, but not too simple either.

Lady Sia is a fun platform game. You r Sia a warrior princess who has to fight beastmen called T'soas. The graohics r good and colorful and looks greAT. For attacking you use a sword and u can shoot energy balls. This game is not too hard, but it will give you if you play nonstop hours of fun. The challenge is finishing the level with good ratings . If u get good ratings on all the levels in a world, u unlock a hidden level. I thougt this game was OK nothing spectacular but pretty cool.

Super Valis IV never made it to GBA, so . . .

Lady Sia can battle seemingly impossible odds with ease. No task is too difficult for her. Unfortunately, she's just a video game character.
After searching for a used copy of Super Valis 4 for what seemed like an eternity, I finally found one . . . then I heard about this game. I decided I wasn't going to make the same mistake twice, and it wasn't rentable in my location so I just bought the dawm game. Not a mistake on my part, but definitely more difficult than I had hoped for. The game is fun, yes, but excruciatingly hard.
In the first few levels, you'll find yourself -should you play this game- adjusting to constant enemy attacks. The hard parts come in the later levels, with constant falling and unreliable bubbles that pop and drop you just a little too soon.
The controls are flawless unless you're a nitpicker, the graphics are nice, and the animation is almost like water -- that's a good thing. The only real problem with the game is that it has a difficulty level comparable to the Contra games.
I saw Lady Sia 2 listed in Nintendo Power magazine. If there really is going to be a sequel, I hope they make the necessary improvements.
As for the story; You, as Lady Sia, are upset that a gang of misfits called Tsoas are ruining your towns and your council refuses to do anything about it. As you progress, you'll recieve some weapon upgrades, turn into monsters, and face some of your council.

Oh. In case you're wondering, these are the basic controls:
A= Jump
B= Attack (press repeatedly for combo-style slashing)
Select = I don't remember
Start = pause/start
Up = Look up; climb ladders, activate switches
Down = Duck; Look down, climb down ladders
Left = Run to the left (walk while holding L)
Right = Run to the right (walk while holding L)
L = Sneak (hold while pressing left or right)
R = Slash (use in conjunction with B for special combos)

This game is really fun to play and is pretty challenging. The further you go the harder the levels. This game had pretty good graphics and you can do lots of different stuff. The levels are really fun, especially in the second area. I would reccomend this game.
