This game is exactly the same than the Blue Version (I reviewed it some time ago) the only thing that changes it's the Pokemon frequency and there's also exclusive pokemon at this one. It's also funny and nice until you finish all. It ain't hard, but either easy, you need a complete strategy and good techniques to do it. I really enjoyed this game in its both versionbs and still do.

IT'S FUN FOR ME

I didn't buy it but I knew it would be good so I borrowed it from a friend. I only played for like 2 hours but I did so much. In that amount of time I had gotten half way through Mt. Moon and beat every trainer I fought. I caught 6 Pokemon and that's pretty good for a beginner. I chose Squirtle in the beginning even though I knew Bulbasaur was best for the Gym Leaders. Squirtle is also really good against Brock. I beat all his Pokemon in 3 moves. Squirtle is good because he doesn't have a weakness to any of the other guys you could have picked so you wouldn't have a weakness to Gary. Well that's all I have to say on the subject.

Pokemon Red is a very fun game for all ages. It's real great for all ages because there is no violent scenes or anything like that. Once you start playing you won't want to stop until your battery runs out.

I think this game is really fun. I think it is great for car trips, because it gets you hooked. It also never really is over, so after you "win", you can keep playing!

It's a really simple plot, but it's hard. Plus, there isn't one way to play the game. In total, says a pokemon website: "There are over 1,500 ways this game will turn out"

best game ever

Pokemon Red is a great game . I wouldnt recemend giving it to some1 who dosnt read well though . You also have to get a little help from the Red and Yellow to beat the game . I dont think I need to explain about how the game goes in general . (youve probobly read all the other reviews) . Theres a cheat so you can get level 100 pokemon or infinity Master Balls but it totaly messes up ur game . All of my friends have Pokemon Red and I think that you or whoever you are thinking of buying this for will enjoy this as much as I did .

Pokemon Red Rocks!

Pokemon Red is a great game. You get to catch and battle Pokemon. If you have a Nintendo 64 later you can battle with the ones you've caught already if you get Pokemon Stadium. I can't stop playing it (unless my Gameboy runs out of batteries).Buy this game! Gloom Rocks!

If you like RPGs, you like Pokemon Red

Pokemon Red. What an idea. Let me tell you a little bit about this. You start off in your house, in front of your SNES system. You go downstairs, and leave your house. Now you can walk about, talking to characters. You want to leave and explore, but you don't even take three steps into the grass when you're stopped. An elderly man runs to you (actually it's Professor Oak, a Pokemon expert.) He warns you it's dangerous in the wild, because of the untamed Pokemon. He tells you you need a Pokemon of your own to protect you. You walk back to his lab with him, and he has you choose a Pokemon. There are three on the table (in Pokeballs of course) and you must choose one. Each is a diffrent type (fire, grass, and water) and each one has its strenghs and weaknesses. I'll tell you about each one:

BULBASAUR - The grass type Pokemon. In final form, he turns out as the weakest of the three, although he still has power. He has a secondary type of poison, which lets you have more moves of diffrent kinds. He is the Pokemon for people new to this game.

SQUIRTLE - The water type Pokemon. In final form, he is strong, but not incredibly. He has a secondary type of ice, and he is my personal choice. He's the Pokemon for those who aren't awesome at this game, but have played it before.

CHARMANDER - The fire type Pokemon. In final form, he is amazingly powerful. He has a secondary type of flying, which helps him out a lot. He's the Pokemon for experienced players who want a challenge.

What I mean by easy to train, moderate to train, and hard to train is this; Bulbasaur is very good against the first two gym leaders (which gives you a boost in training), Squirtle is very good against the first gym leader, but bad against the second (although it still gives you a training boost, it's just smaller.) Charmander isn't very good against the first gym leader, and terrible against the second, which gives him no boost in training whatsoever. After you pick your Pokemon, you fight your rival (who picks after you.) It's a difficult battle, but it's usually easy to win. From there, you have two objectives in the game.

1: Go from town to town, raising your Pokemon, catching wild ones, fighting trainers, and collecting items. The trainers will be at your level if your raising your Pokemon correctly. What's really fun about this game is you can raise up to 6 Pokemon at a time. You want to have one of each type (fire, fighting, lightning, psychic, grass, and water) to fight trainers and win more easily, although that's not required. It's a large part of the game, because what you raise is totally up to you.

2: 150 Pokemon exist in the Red & Blue versions, and you have to catch them all. Some are easy, some difficult, some only appear once, and some you have to trade. You're probably thinking "what the heck is this ... talkin' about" but I'll explain. Red & Blue are the same game except for a few Pokemon. Some only appear in Red, some only in Blue. Because of that, you have to use a link cable, and trade. With the cable, you can also battle.

Pokemon Red is a very strategic (and fun) game that will keep you occupied for hours. But are you stuck between the choice red over blue, or blue over red? Personally, I chose blue because I like the color blue. It really doesn't matter though. I hope you found this review helpful, and good luck on your game!
