Grand theft auto finially gets a game to call it's own on GBA. Before playing, one thing you need to realize, is that the game is simply HUGE. How in the world they were able to fit such a large city on such a tiny pack is beyond me... Next up, this game is played from a top-down view. Don't let this scare you off, as the game is still just as interactive as it's PS2 and X-Box counter parts. The game follows a story that takes place roughly one year before GTA3, following Mike and Vinnie as they do "one last job" for the mafia before getting out of Liberty City. The game features a story mode of reasonable length, along with GTA's trademark side missions, including vigilante runs in a cop car, ambulance and taxi cab. The game features over 20 vehicles, all of which handle a little differently, and large, expansive neighborhoods that streach on forever.Although through the transition to the small screen, GTA has lost some of it's gritty feel, it manages to keep all the violence, drug abuse and some sexual themes here and there to make GTA Advance one of the very few GBA games that is rated "M". On to some of the game's down sides, the game does get a little monotonous, just like it's console counter parts. Driving also takes some getting used to, especially on crowded streets (thats to be expected on a top down game such as this), not to mention that the game seems almost too large, sometimes having you spend up to 20 minutes just driving through crowded streets. What the game does right is exactly what the console versions got right: huge, open-ended areas, almost compleate freedom, tons of cars, lots of weapons, and a huge ammount of game time (technically, the game never ends... as you can always just drive around, go on rampages, stel cars, and go on vigilante missions). This game, however, does it's console brothers one up by being portable. Simply put, this game is a must buy if you are a GTA fan (and most everyone is) and deserves a look even if you aren't. Don't miss it.

We've all been looking for(the often rumored) Grand Theft Auto for the Gameboy Advance and, now, after a long wait- we finally have it. Despite the reviews I've read all over the internet and even a certain gaming magazine on the game(which weren't favorable, let me tell you); I found the game to be pretty awesome(especially considering what the GBA can do). It amazes me how they were able to make the place so HUGE in the game...but they did it. Played in the vein of the classic PSone games, Grand Theft Auto has found a good avenue on the Advance. You can explore Liberty City, find dozens of vehicles to drive, choose from hundreds of side missions, even go on rampages to blow away your enemies and earn points by doing it in a set amount of time. Like the product description states, Grand Theft Auto brings the thrills of the classic GTA gaming series to your Game Boy Advance....big time. You'd be a fool to miss this pocket version. It's just as much fun as all the other games. It is, definitely, a must for all GTA fans. Trust me.
I hope that Rockstar and Take2 Interactive decide to continue the series on the system. It'd be a big seller, I assure you.

Finally , GTA series hit the GBA handheld. We waited for this long time. This game is gonna be awesome. I know San Andreas will be the best but imagine going to school and playing GTA in your palm. After i found out all the features it had and that they fit in all the stuff in this little game i ordered it! So you better order it too! You have all the minimodes like taxi , vigilant and others. Alot of cars , i mean it alot. Tons of missions , free will , walk or ridew around doing anything. They even added some 3D. Also ALL the stats would be tracked like in GTA games. So believe me this game for GBA is gonna be off the hook! Get it now while you still can !
Really not much fun at all

The long awaited GBA release of Grand Theft Auto finds the popular series going back to it's roots (well, more or less) with this GBA conversion. However, GBA owners who have been looking forward to this release will be disappointed considering this game isn't much fun at all. Combining the looking down view of the original GTA with some conventions of the console classic Grand Theft Auto 3, GTA Advance starts out fun as you stomp your way through Liberty City playing as a low rent thug named Mike on a mission to find the killers of your friend. Along the way you can do the various things that the GTA series is notorious for, such as stealing cars, taking out pedestrians and cops, and going on missions. Various features from GTA 3, such as the vigilante and taxi cab missions are available here, but the missions themselves aren't very fun or different from one another. Not to mention that the car physics are completely off the wall, and the controls are at their worst when driving. Finally, GTA Advance just doesn't have the same kind of sense of black humor that it's predecessors were known for. The game itself looks good and is some fun at first, but buyer beware that GTA Advance surprisingly gets old really fast.

I was really excited to get this game. I popped it in and was disappointed from the start. Do you see how small the people are? It should be called Grand Theft Ants. Good graphics but the people are small and very hard to see. Not worth anything.

Returning to the games roots, this game feels alot like the old PC/PS1 game.It has better graphics, and it isn't GTA 3,Vice City,or San Andreas(How do the port a game that has a huge memory? Its impossible to port 3,Vice City,or San Andreas,so don't go"Oh yeah, iwish they ported vicecity instead of gta3!")
Anyway,if you have a GBA,get this game because on GBA,there aren't much games that make people feel so bad@$$.

This was quite fun, however the technology and gameplay were inferior to the independent product by the name of Karnaaj. Plus at $8.99 you can't beat that price. For anyone that is a fan of this title and racing in general I would recommend this as well.
