At first, I thoght wrestling games were pretty boring. That was the time when I didn't play WWF War Zone yet. It is a good game with pretty good graphics. You have a variety of scenarios such as fighting in a cage, being able to bash guys on the head with various items, tag team and other stuff to do with wrestling. You have a variety of wrestlers that you can pick such as Brett Hart, Owen Hart, Bam Bam Bigelo, Golddust, and other wrestlers.

Snazy...BUT where are the special moves?

YES,WWF WAR ZONE is the ''BOMB'' but what happened to treditional special moves like the 3:16,sweeet chin music or the sharp shooter .The game was terifik until there seemed to be no special moves or sign of blood. My 3 rating isn't bad but that came from the the creat player analog.Cheers wwf but smarten up.

An Excellent Game! I own it, it was the first game I got for the N64. The facial features of the characters are excellent, and the music is accurate. The only downfall in this game is not being able to choose individual moves for a custom wrestler. Take my advice, even though this game isn't as up to date as Wrestlemania 2000, the graphics are SO much better, it's unbieliveable. Rent this game before you but it and you'll see what I mean.

When I was little,(like 4 or 5),I was HUGE wrestling fan. That was the day when the WWE had stars like Hogan,Ultimate Warrior,"Macho Man" Randy Savage,The Road Warriors,Jake "The Snake" Roberts, and the new rising star at the time The Undertaker. Then after awhile I gave up on the interest.Untill one day I was over a friends house and he introduced me to War Zone.I was hooked. It felt good being a fan again. This game came out when the WWE then "F" had a more darker, and somewhat dismal image.Especially the likes of The Undertaker,Kane, and Mankind. It was a new era and I was hooked on new superstars.Stone Cold was my hero at the time (now 'Taker). This was back in 1998.It's 2003 now,and I still miss that old image they had. This game was the ultimate wrestling game at the time. But we didn't see nothing yet(smackdown, wrestlemania, and evan that Raw series). If your into more of the old school WWE I recommend this game.I would give it 5 stars, but I stick with four is because there's some superstars at that time they left out.Such as Vader and Psycho Sid.It's surely is a blast to the past!

even though this game is old it still freakin rocks man

this graphics of da game was very realisic especially during its time n 1998 and gameplay great da moves look very realistic but once again da controller could have been used simply like no mercy and wm 2000 but once learn how 2 work da controller u will c dat da wrestlers moves look incredicle like u r watchin real wwf and makin them wrestle anytime u please i enjoy hearing each wrestler say their catchphrase during da match or when they are training before da match is about 2 begin da wrestler's entrance isn't too bad a little rushed but is still good i like how they have vince mcmahon and jr as commentars and say so professional n da game when da wrestlers are wrestling da wrestler songs is good especially da rocks his song is my favorite out of da match and i glad the creators took a chance of advancing wrestling games so early because this game won't b forgotten this game gives wrestling fans a history how current legends such as steve austin the rock hbk even hhh and the undertaker looked when they were younger i like how da game has a hardcore background design i like how they had da old blue cage to let da wrestling game fans no that da wwf cage match use 2 b da color blue wwf warzone has a workout training room where u can slap ur da trainer around 4 as long as u like and he scream every time u hit him hard o soft

War Zone is 50/50

The debut of a WWF game for the N64 was fair. Overall, the graphics and sound were pretty good, but I hated the MIDI tracks and not being able to edit moves. Overall, you should rent this first and then decide if you want to buy it.

And That's The Bottom Line!

This game is great, in many ways better than the wrestling games that followed it. It has much more fluid motion than choppy decendants such as WWF Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy. Unlike Wrestlemania 2000, there is talking in it and Jim Ross and Vince McMahon provide commentary. Both the commentary and the gameplay get a bit repetitive, but after a little while's rest, you can play it again with renewed interest. Best to play when you have friends over. Too bad they don't make it anymore (I got mine used at a local video store).
