I recently got this game and it is really fun it actually has good dialogue and it has a host of characters that are actually different some game all the computer people all look the same and have the same personality ...boring. I really enjoy this game being up there with my favorite RPG games like Golden Sun and Fire emblam. Though the only drawback is the graphics they aren't DOA but they do have some cartoonish gleam too them.
role playing?

Sorry all, but this game is a BIG disappointment. The graphics are lame considering the Dreamcast's processing power. There is really no role playing to be had here either. The randomly generated dungeons and idiotic leveling system make the game a bore, not to mention that the towns offer nothing but mindless text banter from uninteresting characters. This is not a good game. Hopefully we will get a real role player like the Final Fantasy series or even an installment of Y's....something! Until then, save your money.

this game is soooo coooool.you wont regret buying it.now when i was searching the net one day,i wanted to find a good, cheap rpg.well we already know that this game is not very cheap.so i looked at other peoples reviews.most were good and some were bad.but i usually dont pay attention to gossip.so i took a risk of buying this game.OH MAN!!!!!! this game is just like the coolest.the story is good too,its like you actually care whats gonna happen to the characters.well i havnt really got very far on this game, but so far it has been awesome.what ive heard from people when they say "there is a boss who regains life every time he hits you" .well i havn't been to this boss yet,but im really looking forward to because i like a good challenge in a game.i mean whats the fun in a game if its too easy? so if you guys are looking for a good rpg and are looking for a challenge, this is the game for you.

Now when I first played this game, I loved it! But after awhile of playing I came to this one boss that I have spent a month on and havn't been able to beat! And it's not cause I'm not good at fighting, it's because whenever he hurt's you, his life bar refuals to whatever amount he hurt you for TIMES TWO!!! So if he takes away 22 health points from you, then he will gain 44 health points from you!!! What!?! And because I can't get any more health than 96 it makes it so I'm at a MAJOR dissadvantage! And for the record 7/10 that I attack him I miss, even with the special attacks (Every one knows that special attacks shouldn't miss. Other wise that makes it a regular move that just costs something more than a special attack!)!?! Now that's unfair. Now I'm not saying the game is bad because I was really enjoying this game up to this point! But now I feel forced to buy a hint book or I may never beat this guy. Shame on the creators for making such an unfair boss! I feel like I was robbed of my money for this game.
Who thinks up this stuff?

Why the heck would anyone make a game like this? I cant believe there were actual human beings behind its creation. I mean, who was it that said "Hey! Lets make them start back at level one in each dungeon just for kicks! haha!!", total waste of money ...
Definately worth it

i thoroughly enjoyed this game. i had never been an RPG fan, but i thought this game looked pretty interesting, so i got it. i too was pleasantly suprised. it is somewhat kid oriented, but entertaining nonetheless. the replay value is extraordinary. i beat it last week and i STILL dont have one of the characters. (i've found more interesting things, such as building the levels of all the monsters ive captured) i would recommend this game to anyone who asked...definately. the only quarrel i have with it is that the main game in it entirety is definately too short. there needs to be more story to it. id like to see a sequel.
Strange, Different, But Actually Pretty Good

Timestalkers, for the younger crowd, is the sequel to the Sega Genesis hit Landstalkers. In typical Sega fashion, this game breaks new ground and leads the RPG genre into a risky, and very different direction. First warning: If you like to level up until you have godlike powers, and then storm through the level, look elsewhere. You start off in each dungeon at level 1, and can carry only a few items with you when you enter. What I feel is the hardest part about getting into Timestalkers is the break from the old "level-up" stratum that the RPG genre seems to be bound to at the hip. There is no, I repeat NO level gains between dungeons. All level ups are done in the dungeon, and once you beat the boss, you are back to level one again. However, you do increase as your class increases, allowing you to have more abilities and skills, which do follow you from dungeon to dungeon. The graphics are quite colorful, and are a pleasant break away from the Squaresoft style, which has permeated virtually every RPG on the face of the planet. The music is downright strange, but if anything, interesting enough to keep me listening to it. Combat is an interesting matter. You are placed on a grid with your opponents and engage in turn-based combat. The only real difference that separates this from the traditional RPG is the ability to move along these grid squares in combat, which can affect your various skills and strengths. As though Pokemon has spread a virus throughout the world, yes, monster collecting is in the game, and yes, you can use them in combat to either help you or battle your opponents. If anything, I suggest buying this game simply for its artistic courage and innovation. The game is not for everyone, but a pleasant distraction for one willing to try something new.

THIS GAME WAS NOT UP TO MY STANDARDS, its graphics were only soso, and the entertainmet value was awful low. It doesn't stand up to the competition and no one should buy this game. The only reason i gave it two stars was because of the system that it runs on. DON'T BUY THIS GAME ITS HORRIBLE
...Ummm...The soundtrack's good...

The only thing I really liked is that one song... the main town theme...the level up thing annoys me greatly... there is this one boss that also annoys me... he has this "auto hp" thing...if you hit him...he gains back enough hp to ... you off... but he is beatable... I almost had him once... it all depends on the items you get in the dungeons which is totally random...like i said...the only reason why I gave this game 4 stars is that one song. I like that song...it's cheery.
