This game is one of the best tennis games that I have played. Choose from 67 different players with different strengths and weaknesses to compete against, such as fatigue, stamina, volley, serve, forehand strength, backhand strength, you name it. You can compete in singles or doubles with a choice of 10 different sites. You even choose what you wear. You choose from about 30 different styles of shirts, about 15 different shorts, about 10 different pairs of shoes, and you even choose the color of your raquet.
The gameplay is also excellent. You have 4 different shots to choose from, flat, lob, slice, and topspin. Your player can aim cross court or down the line. You can also dive and spike the ball which makes for a really exciting gameplay. The four levels of difficulty are rookie, amerature, pro, and master. This game is challenging no matter how good or bad you are at it. When I first got the game I struggled on the amerature setting. I got this game about a month ago and I still find the pro setting tough. There is also a big descrepancy between the best and worst players. I find myself beating the worst player on master setting and losing to the best player on pro setting. The tournament play gets increasingly difficult as you advance into it.
This is a great game. If your looking for a very close simulation to the real sport get this game. The only downside to the game is that I haven't heard of a single player in this game, but I hate to leave it at that. Five Stars, it is definitely worth your money.

...I've played it a couple times, and this is the greatest tennis game of all time. It is not incredibly difficult, yet not easy enough that it gets boring. The graphics are incredible, and the only let down was that they didn't feature any real tennis players in the game.

Tennis Masters Series is an awsome game made for PC. The graphics are superb and is entirly realistic. One of the highest points of the game is being able to play on center court of all 9 tennis masters series events and the masters cup in sydney. The courts are an exact replica of the real thing. The only thing that kept me from giving this game a 5 star review is the fact that they marketed the game as having 67 "professional" players which is an out right lie. It contains 67 made up professional players. I bought the game expecting to see Roddick, Sampras and agassi but to my dissapointment that is not the case. Even though there is that one weak spot I would deffinitly reccomend this game and be sure to keep an eye out for the release of T.M.S. 2003.

This is a truly awful game. 67 professional players is a ridiculous lie. There are, in fact, NO pros in this game. They are simply made-up players with names like Fernando Silva, and Alexei Dumasevitch. Indeed, you will find no Sampras, Agassi, Roddick, Hewitt, or any of your favorites. The lighting in this game is also horrendous. In the noon and night options you can see the ball okay at best, but in the afternoon option, you simply cannot see the ball. The game modes are limited. You can only choose from Exhibition and Tennis Masters Series. There are no Practice modes or Minigames. I am a huge tennis fan, and was looking forward to this game. It is very dissapointing. Please, save your money!
What a blast!

You don't need to be a true tennis fan to enjoy this game. It is a blast!

Which isnt saying much. Most PC tennis games are pretty rotten. Why is it that Madden can have complex blitzing assignments, multiple routes for WRs, game plans, etc and we cant get decent AI for a simple tennis game?
It was fun and challenging for awhile, but by the end of a season, youve pretty much got it down. Replay value doesnt really exist.
The new version should be out before Christmas 2002, hopefully they will have improved on it.
A Fun Game At First

Tennis Masters Series for the PC is a fun game when you first get it. But it can become very easy very fast and you will probably lose interest. Every once in a while I will play it but I usually get very bored by it. There are 3 types of gameplay. First there is Tennis Masters Series where you play all the tournaments the pros played in the year 2001. Also, one of the main reasons that I bought this game is because it said that there were 67 actual touring professionals. But when I played the game for the first time (I'm an avid tennis fan and I've heard of players no one else has) I hadn't ever heard of any of the players. And I did some research on the subject and I looked in the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals which is the main tour) and I couldn't find a single person thats on the game. But you can change the players' names. You can only play singles in this mode. Second there is exhibition. Where you can play Singles and Doubles with the 67 "actual touring professionals." Last there is Network play but I could never figure that out. I tried many times to play in this mode, but no matter how many different ways I tried it it never worked. The controls are very easy to master and gameplay isn't that realistic. Overall I give it a 3 out 5.

the graphics are pretty cool and the actual gameplay is pretty interesting, until you figure out how to win. if you are a singles player, no matter who you play as and against, you just need to serve the slow spin serve, then come to the net and volley, and voila! you won the point. this is pretty weak and unrealistic. also the players are imaginary ones and no real ones. you can't even build your own player.
Just a bad game

Since there are not many tennis games for PC, I said, what the hell. I wasted $10. The game is unexciting, and bland. There are also no real-life player.
There is no real challenge to serving. I hit my serve at max speed the first time I ever served! Come on!!
However, there is a huge challenge for actually succeeding in a volley or half volley.
I game the game a shot and I really didn't like it. Look else where for a tennis game!!
