Former Guild Wars fanatics review

I must admit that before this game, i played Guild Wars Guild Warswith the zeal of a crack additic. This my new poison. It has everything that i have ever like about MMORPGs but without the stuff that i didnt. it is true that this game isnt for PVP people, but it is heaven for PVE players. This game is perfect for players that want to get immersed in a story and care little for PVP. I have been playing the beta, and i am in love. This is a game that you can play alone or with friends. thus far it seems very well balanced. the only difficulty i have found thus far is that my life keeps interupting my playing time :-(

This is the One MMO to Rule them All

Game
LoTRO
GENIUS - in it's complexity yet accesibility
WoW
Designed for idiots ONLY

Story
LotRo
The GREATEST ever told and after the movie trilogy it may have even surpassed the Bible.
WoW
IS THERE A STORY?

GRAPHICS
LotRO
Even on a less than top of the line box... LotRO is STILL the most beautiful in any game ever developed including DX10 Conan

WoW
Are you kidding? Some of the lamest graphics EVER unles you are 10 or under. The original Zelda looked better than WoW.

User Interface
LotRO - 11+ year old tried and true Turbine Interface. Developed before WoW was even a concept

WoW
Ripped nNOT from the headlines but from Turbine's development team and claimed as Blizzard's own 8 years after it was developed by Turbine.

This game probably has won more awards and has recieved more POSITIVE press than ANY game ever, even Halo, but thankfully the general population of WoW holds a collective I.Q. of about 2 and find LotRO too challenging for their limited ability. Most have thankfully gone back to MMORPGs for DUMMIES.

LotRO is now thinning down to a superlative community ranging in age from 10 to 75, but the average maturity of LotRO's youngest is at least in the 20s... the leetle WoW kiddies are thankfully gone.

Lord Of The Rings: Shadows Of Angmar

Firstly I have to say a huge thank you to [...] I ordered this game originally from onlinecdkey.com well before open beta closed and they still have not provided me with a retail key. Hence in my frustration I and on the advice of a friend I ordered this game from Amazon.com This game took 4 days to ship from america to me in australia. I am so impressed by the service, I will now be using their services alot more. Now to the game.

I am a Guild Wars and WOW player and first impressions of LOTR are good. A few dissapointing factors like the inability to swim under water and the like lack a bit of realism. I also agree about the previous comments where everyone waits around the same area for 1 boss to appear. I have waited like 30 minutes on one particular day to get the boss.

Graphically this game is very nice and it runs well on lower end systems. But now I have purchased a nice fast dual core, with dx10 gfx card it looks even nicer. I hope that the game in the future adds a few more classes and races.

Not sure about the monster play yet, havnt really done much with it.

Great game thou..

dissapointed

looking like an underdevolped WOW interface didnt help this lackluster game. For as long as it spent in development youd think a well polished piece of work woud have arrived but the class development as well as subpar quest story lines leave alot to be desired. As a huge LOTR fan i eagerly awaited this game but think it fell far short of bering the name of such a great work of fiction.

Simply Amazing...

I have played many MMORP games, however this is the first one where I wasn't playing to "hurry up and level". You'll want to take your time and enjoy the scenery, music and quest text. This game is simply awesome!

This game rocks. Whole of middle earth to explore and decent selection of adventures to mix it up. Plus a decent monthly fee that doesn't break the bank. Sweet.

WOW killer, probably not, but it's still good!

I'm a avid fan of WOW, and this game is the only thing that comes close to it. There are alot of "shared" ideas between the 2 games, but enough of a difference to make it a unique playing experience. I play both (70/30) now, and it's a nice change of pace.

Have you played World of Warcraft? If you have then this is a less impressive copy of that game. Virtually everything I tried was identical to WoW. However, what was missing was the impressive richness of WoW. Instead the world (at least what I saw of it) was dull and uninviting. Using the mouse to move was sporadic at best.

I was very disapointed. I had been lookiing forward to this game.

Its Ok.

Lord of the Rings Online can hardly be compared with WoW due to it aiming at a more pvE adventure oriented experience. The graphics are beautiful, and the interface is simple. This game is fun if your into mmorpgs but it wont last, it gets boring quickly. I lasted a month due to the lack of pvp! Sure monster battles is fun but it burns out fast, and the end game content isn't exactly worth the time spent getting there. I liked games like WoW and Everquest because my motivation was to build my character up to the top lvl and then have fun in pvp. That isn't the case here. The focus is mainly on PvE , and the classes aren't all that creative. I mean, burgler ?? exact same class as Rogues in Wow, its irritating that they couldnt come up with some original classes for a different game. There is still grinding, fetch questing, but there are story sequences which are pretty cool. I suggest if you waiting for the next great mmorpg wait for Warhammer Online. This game is fun for a brief period and then gets old. Not worth the money.

The landscapes are beautiful to look at. I was excited to visit Bag Ends and Weathertop. The game interface is very similar to other online games and are easy to learn. Leveling is fast if you focus on the quests in each of the main areas. You even can earn bonus skills if you complete a certain number of quests. Expect to group and fight in fellowships frequently, because the game is harder and less entertaining without a fellowship to run around with.
