Yet another bad movie-franchise game...what else is new?

1 Rating: 1, Useful: 5 / 5
Date: March 02, 2004
Author: Amazon User

The back of the box looked bad enough, but since this game was in the bargain bin, I picked it up. Turns out it wasn't even worth the 1/3 price tag that I'd paid for it.

You may be seduced into playing this game because of the link to the movie, but trust me -- you'd do well to save your money and time. The only good thing about this Game Boy Advance title is that you get to play as Jen. Even then, they should have given you a choice of characters and expanded the possibilities. And judging from your character in this game, you wouldn't have thought Jen were the "Hidden Dragon" of the title, because your Jen moves like she has lead weights attached to her, as if training with iron tiles in the Shaolin Temple. Your character is a tiny undetailed speck in the center of the screen (mostly), and your array of moves is so unspectacular that you'll find yourself resorting to the classic run-and-single-slash technique, rather than being able to execute combos. Even the characters in Double Dragon have more useful moves than this.

The level designs are just laughable. There isn't a single level here I'd have the incentive to play again. Though there is a mild frustration level, I plowed through the entire game in two days on-and-off and don't feel much urge to go back to it. Been there, done that.

Save your money and leave this turkey in the bargain bin where it belongs.
