So Castlevania has once again risen from the depths of darkness, its time to pick up your sword and take out the evil Lord Dracula once again. Even though this game gets away from the beloved Belmont family line it still inspires Castlevania fans everywhere to grab their GBA's and spend hours on end hunting through the dredded castle to once again destroy the evil within.

Time and time again fate holds its bonds within heroes. Every 100 years or so a hero was to take another's place and fight evil. But things have changed..in 1999 there was a "Great War" between good and evil..humans vs evil. After a time an eclipse held within the powers of good closed evil within it.Never to be seen or unlocked again.
Many years later, an 18 year old named Soma Cruz along with a close friend Mina Hakuba join many others to watch the event of the century.(the eclipse)but something bizarre happens as Soma and Mina are taken to a shrine, but this is no ordinary place.
The classic series Castlevania takes a different route, this time in the future. This entry brings back the classic gameplay from the well know CV title to date "Symphony of the Night" and even more. New allies, new foes. Its your turn to choose this heroes destiny. New abilities such as Soul Absorb -take out an enemy.. and you can use their soul as a new attack technique. Or a Guardian which will protect and help you along your journey.
Which side are you on? Good or Evil? Soma's fate and his friends lie in your hands.

This is one of the best game for GBA. Its basically an action/adventure/rpg 2-D type game. Main part of the game is action, you can collect hundreds of different weapons, abilites, guardians, and more! Its kinda like super mario bros. but with evil castle, evil enemies. The main character has all kinds of dope moves, weapons, spells, items, guardians, and more. You kill fantasical monsters of all types. I've never played the previous two GBA games but I did play symphony of the night on PS one. This game is similar to symphony of the night but better! The stage design is better because it requires thinking to get from one area to another, more "puzzle" like. There are much more power ups and abilities in Aria of Sorrow. The graphics, sound, control, gameplay... everything is totally awesome! The gameplay is what makes it better than symphony of the night, its much much more challenging. The castle is well guarded, many many different enemies, the boss battles are spectacular. The boss battles are cool, it actually requires skill and thinking, the computer is smart and very engaging. The boss battles are epic! I've died many times in this game. In symphony of the night I never die, I basically completed the whole game without ever dying, it was a total joke and the boss battle always end in two seconds. Overall this game is AWESOME! A must have for all GBA owners. The best 2-D castlevania game ever!
my first venture into the series

Castlevania: AoS is a very fun game. i like the action oriented gameplay, the variety of weapons, and the super-cheesy character dialogue. it's open-ended, so you never have any clue where you're supposed to be going, but in a rather fantastic, positive way, you usually end up somewhere accomplishing something.
i find the only negative thing about the game to be it's length. it was very short, taking me less than five hours to complete. i would like more game time than that, kiddies. otherwise, though, very good.
Too Easy

When I first got Aria of Sorrow I thought it was a great game. Over the weeks following my purchase I changed my mind. While I was reading a Nintendo Power magazine they said that it is a challenging game that would take 20 hrs. to beat , but I beat it in less than 7 1/2 hrs. I also don't like this game because after you beat Dracula you can't continue playing, because I haven't discovered the whole map. Overall I think they should make Aria of Sorrow much harder to beat, and I think that you should think twice before buying this game.
damned near perfect

aria of sorrow is good but its hard to beat and when you use the devil soul if the ceiling is to low you hit your head and its a little cheasy. the good parts are that you can gain souls by beating bad guys and its pretty long the bad guys are pretty cool

Don't take my three star review to seriosly , this game is great sporting very clear and sharp graphics. The game has swords again like symphony and plenty of them and a unique soul system which you can steals powers from enemys according to how good your luck is of course. sound wise its not as good as symphony but it is better than Harmony of dissonace .The bosses are pretty cool a huge golem , legion makes a return .The game how ever is pretty short about 6 hours for me , but if you are the typewho wants to collect every item it will take you longer about 16 hours maybe . I think it is the best game on gameboy advance its a must have.
