Well, Before I give my thoughts on this title, let me say that I don't like Ms. Spears' music. This game is another version of the popular arcade game that started the whole "Dance Dance Revolution" craze. You have to use the A and B buttons, along with the directional joypad to keep in time with the music while your player character, in this case Britney Spears, dances on screen. You are rated as to the accuracy in which you press the corresponding direction/button in time to the music. I've played all the Gameboy Color dance games, as well as the Gameboy Advance game "Mary Kate and Ashley's Girl's Night Out", a dance game just like this one here (which came out just before this game), so it's only fair that I impart to you my views of this title.
The graphics are crisp, and in my opinion, better rendered than most. I'm not saying jaw-dropping, but it did offer a nice surprise to see that the graphics reached beyond the MaryKate game. The music samples, some of which are digitized, are quite accurate, keeping in the theme of Britney's "music". The music is catchy and bouncy (think soundbite pleasing). There's a dance mode (where you'll be spending 95% of your time - as this is the heart of the game), tour book mode- which unlocks different surprises as you clear more levels- thus adding replay value to the game, and a Puzzle mode which is the old slide puzzle game where you must move tiles to make pictures of britney. There's no battery back-up function , but rather a password feature to track your progress.
I'm totally into this type of game, the keeping-in-time-to-the-music-gameplay, and it's something that Britney here does well. It has a better dance meter than other dance type-games (the place you'll be looking at to time your dance moves), and it will keep you coming back for more- just to unlock more in the TOUR mode. This one's a winner over other dance games you may have played on a handheld, as the music and graphics are crisp, clear, and well animated, the sampled music is sharp and keeps you toe-tapping to make sure you keep in time (that's pretty much what the gameplay is all about now, isn't it?). Even if you are not into games and are a Britney Spears fan- here's a suggestion: Buy yourself a gameboy advance and get this game (or nag your parents until they give in). You won't be disappointed.
If you manage to make it through all the modes, you'll be treated to a 45 second fully digitized full motion music video of Britney Spears live (from one of her concerts).

The question for the day is not what Britney Spears has done, but what can't she do. She rose in the pop music industry, starred in a major motion picture, wrote a book, has dolls made in her likeness...and now, her first video game for Nintendo's Game Boy Advance.
Britney's Dance Beat is an incredible piece of work. From its amazingly fluid motion captures, awesome digitized music and solid graphics, it is more than just a game. It's a great way to develop hand-eye coordination. Five hit singles are featured in the game: Baby One More Time, Oops!...I Did It Again, Stronger, Overprotected, and I'm A Slave 4 U. There are three levels of difficulty to choose from as you help Britney dance her way through the Practice and Concert modes. After successful completion of each song, you will unlock pictures from her Tour Book and mini Puzzle games. Once you've cleared all the songs from both Practice and Concert modes, you will be treated to an actual music video clip, which I must say is the crowning jewel of this game. Mere words can't describe how absolutely amazed I was at the power of the GBA's capabilities.
While I've noticed that Dance Beat shares some similarities to Dance Dance Revolution, Bust-A-Groove and Space Channel 5, it has a unique style of its own. You get to see an automatic replay of the game and watch Britney in all her dancing glory without having to concentrate on the pushing the corresponding buttons to make her dance. However, the video simply blows it all away. It's like having a miniature 4-inch television.
If you're a huge Britney fan, there's no doubt you've probably bought the game. If you're looking for a good dancing game, make Britney a part of your collection. Britney's Dance Beat won't disappoint.

Ever since her third album, I was becoming less of a Britney fan. I was stupid to buy this game. I had 30 bucks saved up, so I went out and bought Britney's Dance Beat. It had to be the worst purchase I have ever made! 95% of the game is pressing the A and B buttons as the little spinner goes over the designated letter. Even if I did press it, as someone else said, the game did not register it. It got annoying and boring to sit there for 3 mintutes pressing the A and B buttons over and over and over and over again. You couldn't even watch her dance until the replay. By the time the replay came, I was bored out of my mind. What good is a game when there barely is any challenge? The other 5% of the game was Britney puzzles. Boring. The only thing worth the game was the short clip of Britney singing "Overprotected" live. And that was lip-synched. I would give this game less than 1 star if it existed. Don't buy it- IT'S A WASTE OF MONEY! Pokemon even kept me more awake and I hate Pokemon!

This game is really bad and I reccomend you don't get it. If you do get it, the graphics are o.k but the gameplay is really bad.

I was stupid to buy this game. I order this for my daughter because she is a big Britney fan. It had to be the worst purchase I have ever made! Most of the game is pressing the A and B buttons as the little spinner goes over the designated letter. It is not challenging at all. My daughter played with it maybe four times since she has had it. All you do is press the A and B buttons over and over and over and over again . I tried to save what my daughter did with the code and this didn't work either. What good is a game when there barely is any challenge? The other part of the game was Britney puzzles. This was boring. This game should be off the shelves. Don't buy it- IT'S NOT WORTH IT!

Im only giving it 5 stars because im a britney fan. This game is really hard unless you use cheats or put in on easy. It gets annoying after a while. I suggest waiting for the PC or PS2 versions.

I'll have to say, I was pretty excited when I found this game on clearance for $8. If I would've paid any more for it, I would've been highly disappointed.
Enthralled with my newest Britney purchase (being a big Brit fan myself), I instantly unwrapped it and began to play.
This game is somewhat like DDR, and doesn't get too complex until the last three songs of the practice stage (where you get to mix arrows with the a and b buttons). Concert stages are pretty decent and good for a little complexity.
The concept of this game is good, that's why DDR is such a huge hit, the game concept. However, the actual game play is not for those are not big fans of Britney or those who mind playing some boring rounds in order to score pics, puzzles and a video clip of Ms. Spears.
The worst part about this game has to be that it doesn't save - you have to write down passwords. The great part about this game is that even though you have to write down passwords, you really don't have to write them down because it is quick and easy to pass most of the first rounds, no sweat.

I expected Britney's video game to be exciting to play and I guessed right. Britney's hits are included while playing and that is a good idea. The game has good graphics and it's a game for everybody. Good game overall.
