This game may have been fine on the PSP (though I doubt it), but this port to the Playstation 2 is terrible. The visuals are worse than those on the Playstation 1, the game is glitchy, the camera is blatently out to get you and the controls are annoying. The game does keep up the tradition of entertaining weaponry and a neat story that is at the heart of the Ratchet and Clank franchise, but has no other redeeming values. As a fan of all of the games (including the newest for the PS3) I was sorely disappointed by this offering. It should be avoided.
HUGE Ratchet & Clank fan, but this one BLEW!!!

I've played every Ratchet and Clank game completely through and I love them. I don't know what happened on this one, but they really dropped the ball. The only thing I can consider is that they made it for the portable first and then made it into a PS2 game as an afterthought.
What a mess. The controls are different. You can't fire with one of the L1/L2 or R1/R2 buttons, which you could do with the rest. makes moving and shooting almost impossible to do smoothly. The camera angles are horrible. There are many times that you can't look somewhere unless in gunsite mode and I can't tell a difference between 1st and 3d person angles. The weapons stink. REALLY STINK!! The upgrades are not that big of an improvement, either. The mini-games and Clank games are simple-minded and horrible.
I hate to see them put up a %25 effort for such a great platform that's had such wonderful games in the past. I couldn't make myself play more than a few hours. I tried to give it a chance, but it just got worse. I'm selling it at Gamestop tomorrow.
I hope that the next time that they make a Ratchet and Clank they put the time and effort into it. I guess I finally have to buy a PS3.

This, so far, is still a pretty good Rachet & Clank game - however, ever since Playstation 3 came out, it seems like they are farming out the rights to other game platforms - not as smooth action-wise, the graphics seem off too. Good game although I prefer a little more room between "boss rounds" - makes it a little more difficult that I like - of course, I'm just a part-time gamer with little time to practice but I enjoyed all of the previous games very much. I would like to tell Sony that there are still some of us out here that can't afford to upgrade and we still like good NEW games!!
What to expect....

I recommend this product for the ages of 5-10 (at best). The replay value on it is low for any age higher than that; espcially those loyal to the series. The weapons are cheesy (though slightly entertaining), no real power to them, camera controls a little hard to adjust to. It was designed to be TOO easy; bascially they just wasted their time on this one. However, as I stated earlier, it would represent an interest in small children; I believe that this was the game's targe audience, based on the weapons and storyline alone.
Disappointing but I still play it

I was very eager to purchase this game when I heard it was coming out. I wanted to play it when I heard it came out for the PSP, but was not going to run out and buy one just for one game. I purchased it, ran home to play it and sat back rather disappointed. The game play is choppy and there are glitches I have always thought that the R&C empire was above. One of the most notable things about the series is it has some of the smoothest gameplay available for the PS2. Well, not on this one. Being a big fan, the moves are second nature to me and I was not pleased with the response time. I'm not saying not to buy it (eh, maybe rent it) but just approach it with a different expectation than the rest of the series. Future, by the way was AMAZING!
Size Matters certainly disappointing

I have played all of the previous games and really enjoyed them. That was until I purchased "Size Matters" ....just when I thought the game was about to get somewhat interesting the credits came on...it was over. What a disappointment !!!!!!!!!
Don't buy this game

I love this series and was looking forward to playing this game on my PS3. I should have heeded the reviews and stayed away. If it's not made for that specific gaming system, stay away. The manufacturers were only out to make a buck...

i have to say, this game sux. i was realy pumped going home from game stop with this game in my hands, but 15 minutes of play time was to much. I had to stop. i just couldnt take it. it was just terrible. Its not even made by the same team. all the other games were made by insomniac and this one is made by high impact games witch i have never herd of. if ur a fan of the series like me or just getting into do not by this game. u will be utterly dissapointed =(
