My favorite levels in R6V1 were the casino levels, without that you would have just your typical generic shooter terrain and this is what we have in R6V2, there's absolutely no reason to have Vegas in the name. If you're going to have a "sequel"(Full Price Expansion Pack) to an amazingly beautiful game like the first one don't let us all down in the same way GRAW2 really blew it with a short storyline and the generic terrain.
I played the first one through many times, this one I don't see playing through more than twice so the value is just not there; like most sequels they get you with the first one and phone it in after that, don't pay full price for this game, you can get the first one for five dollars and get a much better experience. I would not pay more than fifteen dollars for this one.
The many bugs in this game make freezing and CTD a common thing that I just took the whole thing off my computer it was so frustrating. I patched to 1.01 and it was actually crashing more! This game has technical issues as bad as Gears of War did and of course ubi is no help. So avoid this one for a while if you are looking for a smooth game that is worth the price.
The controls are the same as the first one, which worked so well so why change it?
For me the customization is meaningless as I play single player only and to me seems a little tedious with the colors, etc. The weapons are all pretty much the same, one thing I didn't like was the locked weapons and the stupid points system to unlock them, please do this for online only where it makes sense.
It would make more sense to have the advanced weapons available at the more advanced difficulty settings during the single player campaign.
In sum Ubisoft and the R6V team really let us down with this one and don't reward them by rushing to buy this , even if you loved the first one and have waited anxiously for a sequel like me.

R6 Vegas with new maps. The graphics are a little better but no Crysis. There are some bugs that have not been addressed. The campaign seems way too short and with ammo crates every twenty feet, its too easy even on realistic mode. The best part about the R6V2 is the co-op story, with dialog (as apposed to its predecessor). The ability to customize your character as you progress through the story was cool.
Screams unfinished.

I really wanted to like this game. I was really hoping this was going to be a more polished version of Vegas 1. Instead the game seems to have started that way but was pushed out the door long before completion.
The story mode seems to feature more attention to detail than the rest of the game. Multi-player story mode is fairly nice as far as the maps and the gameplay. I really wish they had not trimmed it down to just 2 players in that mode. The AI teammates controlled by player 1, are not incredibly useful other than to act as cannon fodder, luring out bots that have phenomenal accuracy and psychic tracking abilities. The overall storyline is quite forgettable IMHO.
Other gametypes are hindered. Terrorist Hunt has numerous issues. The way the bots 'spawn' in is downright hideous at times. Features have been taken from the control of the player such as the number of respawns. There are countless bugs in the game some major, and many minor. They scream "unfinished" or "hastily slapped together" and it is my belief that this game was released before it was completed. These hinder what would otherwise be a very fun installment of Vegas.
Okay considering the poor graphics,

I got this for 20.00 on amazon...I knew it was going to be a poor game in so many elements. You can't use SLI with it or you get problems--not that you need it if you have 9800gx2's like me. I maxed everything out on this game and it still looks like an xbox game...lol. As for fun, well, it's pretty bland in that area as well. Grainy graphics, stupid AI. Your teammates with get stuck in holes..lol. You have to push them out of walls, etc..what a joke! However, as a fan of the original, I wanted to pick this up for cheap. I feel sorry for those people who paid 60.00 for this game on consoles. This game is worth about 20-30 dollars. It's that poor! More or less, it's like an expansion. Don't buy this game for more that 30.00!

The folks at UBISOFT have done it again. From the very start it is action packed. Lots of new suprises in the game that continue to make it one of the best running PC games on the market. I look forward to the next episode in the series.
Seriously in need of a patch

Check the UBI forums before purchasing so you know what you're getting into. If you can get it to play correcty, it's a great game. There are, however, MANY issues that render it unplayable for many people. I myself had to do a few reg tweaks, ini edits, and multiple updates to drivers for it to even make it playable. It still has some highly annoying issues, but is really fun to play. I haven't tried story mode, but I hear it has even more issues than online mp.
Great game

Once again, I cannot believe the disappointing reviews given for this game. You have the right PC, and all the right equipment, the game works great. I usually only play story mode. And I have found no major issues with it. Very few issues, major or minor. Really only one or two. Mike and Jung keep getting stuck in certain spots of the game. You have to go back and push them around to make them come back with you. But, this problem occurs very rarely and only in one or two areas of the game.
As far the story goes, two things puzzle me. Mike and Jung join Logan after they storm the theater with Bishop. Gabe disguises himself as an NSA agent and misleads Bishop all the way in the train yard. This happens on July 3rd - the same day when Logan, Mike and Walter go to rescue Gabriel from Dante's Casino. The time span is very small - Gabriel sure travels extremely fast between the two locations. And I guess we have to assume that Bishop was unconscious for a really long time after he was knocked out at the train yard. If not, Bishop would have already informed Logan about Gabe being a traitor, before they hit Nevada. This part of the story is really confusing.
While I believe it's a great idea to have your design your own character in the game and while I believe that it was thoughtful of the creators to allow female rainbow fans to choose a female character as the lead, I seriously think Vegas 2 needed more of Logan than anybody else. Or alternatively, they could have made it look like Chavez was back in the field temporarily in a time of crisis. A new Bishop character was both unnecessary and unrealistic, when viewed in light of the previous rainbow stories.
It is also unimaginable to see Logan playing such a small role towards the end after he took down a major character in the previous game (Irena). I don't know if this is the actual Tom Clancy story or not. So, I am not qualified to comment on the story.
But, overall, the game is great. None of what I mentioned is sufficient enough to warrant a rating less than five stars. Graphics are excellent, far less difficult than Vegas 1, which may or may not be a good thing. Music fit the levels and situations perfectly!
Good game but only if less than 30 bucks

Well, it is a good game with nice graphic. Fun game play fast action. Enough maps to choose for multiplayer. Easy control, even I played with my kids thru LAN. The new game cost $ 49.99 but now dropped down to 29.99. Good buy. I got mine from ebay with 19.99 + shipping. about 24 bucks used. As I mentioned, you should buy this game if it dropped cheaper than 30 bucks. You won't disappointed, believe me !

I found the first Rainbow Six Vegas to be much better than this one. RSV2 seemed like a mediocre expansion pack as opposed to a sequel. I expected to see more of Vegas throughout the game. Aside from the nightclub, one casino floor, and portions of the convention center, the locations were boring and bland. There are more graphical options in this one than in the first (can enable AA, etc) however that doesn't make up for it's shortcomings. It's also a shorter game than RSV1, and in certain areas you can tell they increased the difficulty in an attempt to extend the gameplay (since everytime you get killed, you have to start over from a checkpoint which can get maddening.) If you haven't played the first Rainbow Six Vegas yet, get that one instead- much more variety, better locations, and more fun in general.

Looks like Ubi did not put too much effort on the visual design, and maps are usually small and inside buildings. However, teambased online gameplay is great and emphasizes on simulation detail. E.g. different weapons and ammo provide different results, tactics help. Nice one.
