Skies of Arcadia is the ultimate game for dreamcast. With almost 24 hours of tough RPG combat and the best 3D-Graphics i have every seen. The game follows the story of Vyse, a young Blue Rouge pirate with fighting and people skills to unite all nations to take down your common every day World Domination physco who threatens to destroy the planet with an attack of the gods called, Rains of Destruction. But in order to do so, he must collect all the moon crystals. So, Vyse and his friends decide to foil his plans by finding some of the crystals and keeping them away from him. This is the best game i have ever played. It took me three months to find it and i'm glad i spent those 3 months on such an awesome game. Believe me, IT'S WORTH IT!!!
This is the greatest RPG of all time

Skies of Arcadia truly stands out among rpgs. I was born and raised on the Exile series by spiderweb software. If you have never heard of them you should really try it. Anyway Skies was full of sutle(sp?) simalarities and huge changes. The graphics were incredible and the charicters and plot extremly well developed. If ya haven't played this game you really should.

I have never played a better game. Not only are the graphics the abosolute best I've seen on the market, but the story is so rich. Despite the fact that you can't name your characters, their weopons and spells are awsome. The "Special Moves" option is a brilliant addition to any RPG. Unlike many games, which have me jumping at flying objects or fearing death by falling off cliffs, "Skies" has easy moving. The best part, however, is the colors. The colors are supurb and they even added sun beams when your rotate the camera. If you don't like RPG's or you do, this game is for you. Every body can get a kick from it! Out of all this, the one single flaw is the random battles, which get tiresome...Very tiresome.
skies of arcadia is the coolest game.

This game took me 4 days to beat. You should get this game if you don't already have it than you don't know what your missing out on. The best part of the game is when you get your own ship and start your own base. I think that the base and your own ship is the coolest thing on here. With this ship you can blast a little pirate ship out of the sky in one hit. On my game i am vyse the legend. So this is why this game gets 5 stars because it has action, adventure, and excitment.
Great game, but not unlike its RPG predecessors

I found this game to be a colorful and imaginative adventure. Then I went back to my PSX and played Final Fantasy VIII. The only problem with criticisms of the last few games is that they came before this masterpiece. Oh, and they were also masterpieces. I found the storyline and gameplay to be remarkably like FFVII, except for a few "aye, aye"s and "haha!"s, and the only problem I have with that is...nothing except the fact that people are criticizing FFVII; just don't, it is THE GAME, OK?!
Seriously, though, I thought that they really had no personal reason to save the world, (like Cloud) they were misunderstood at the beginning (like Cloud), and I their attitudes annoyed me (like Tifa) and the final boss was too...mysterious, with almost no developement of the character. And yes I know that I am being a bit unfair on that. (hey, the underdevelopement is kind of like Ultimecia...from FF8! Which also came before soa! See a connection here?)
Actually, the gameplay was great, but don't diss final fantasy before you think about the similarities, and the fact voices of the characters in this game get SO annoying...
GOODGAME BUY DONT DISS FINAL FANTASY HA!

This game has a very good and long plot. The game has good graphics for it being very long. This game is two disc's long. if your a person that at least wants a challenge you should get this game. I took a risk on buying this game because I didn't know any thing about it, but it was well worth it. You also get to fight other ships. There are many temples. this game has a 3D wrold. The only thing that you might not like it is because its really long, but that's a big reason why I like it. Two other games you should try is GRANDIA 2 for dreamcast, and SECERET OF MANA that is a really better and way longer than SKIES OF ARCADIA.
Finally... Peter Pan meets Star Wars!

Skies of Arcadia is a role-playing game only in the sense that the player travels in a party of three members- led by the impeccable silent protagonist- and engages monsters in turn-based battles whilst searching for items and spells in a vast world. Beyond that, it is a piece of incredible triumph which melds together the essence of no fewer than a dozen popular licenses to create a wonderful, intriguing game unlike any seen before.
The game is basically about Air Pirates: pirates who sail through the skies in airships looking for adventure and fortune. Two notable factions of Air Pirates have emerged: the evil Black Pirates who attack ships indiscriminately, and the Blue Rogues who attack only armed vessels. Skye and Aika, two young Blue Rogues, set out across the skies when their floating island-town is destoryed by the Imperial Armada and the men of the town are kidnapped. Thus are warranted the Star Wars references bound to surface as the two adventurers set off to defy the Imperial Armada and rescue their friends... unaware of the magnificent trials they will soon face.
Skies of Arcadia smacks lightly of Zelda, what with the exploration of towns and various temples with a linear number of objectives. The animation is reminiscent of Mega Man legends, with cutesy-eyed characters and cartoonish visuals. However, the brilliance of the characters' facial expressions is exceedingly well-done, and the detail in the villages and battle scenes is quite impressive. The dialogue moves with a very loose, sensible dialect which is richly entertaining. The heroic Robin Hood/Tailspin duo soon acquire a third mate and the action heats up, with fantastic spell effects similar to Chrono Cross and ingenious plot twists (not similar to Chrono Cross). The battles, however, are simple but admittedly not groundbreaking. Were it not for the overall strong presentation of the title, they surely would have aided to defeat its intent; luckily, the game is so well plotted-out that in all other regards it is flawless.
The musical score is enchanting, with whimsical compositions hearkening back to the Robin Williams/Dustin Hoffman movie Hook. The game has perhaps the most childlike yet socially advanced demeanor of any RPG since the 1995 SNES game Chrono Trigger. It is just as fun and just as classic and certainly much longer, a welcome attribute in these the days of the sugar-coated quasi-RPG; the game is contained on two GD-ROMs with little to no full motion video.
It's one part Star Wars and one part Peter Pan with a dash of Zelda, thrown together into a colorful, exciting role-playing epic. Highly recommended to role-playing fans and entertainment lovers at large.

Skies of Arcadia is, in my opinion, the best game on Dreamcast. I like the characters. Vyse, is a young air pirate. He owns a ship called the Delphinis. He has two friends called Aika and Fina. Aika has red hair with pigtails. Fina has blonde.
The Valuan Armada is trying to stop all wars by ruling the world as one huge nation. They are going to collect the six moon crystals and summon the legendary Gigas. Vyse will collect the six crystals first.
Overall, the game is worth a five star rating. It's graphics are five star, it's characters are five star. Everything is five star. When you get the game, you think that the doubledisk is going to be hard. But once you get into it and get used to the characters, it seems like the shortest game ever. That's why I rated it four stars, bucause it wasen't long enough
PLAY THIS GAME, YOU'LL LOVE IT!!
(note: If you liked this game, try Grandia 2.)
