A nice combination of racing, stunts, and battling,

Although SF Rush and Rush 2: Extreme Racing USA were kind of boring with the same old Rush, 2049 was a much better job than the first two.

This time, SF Rush takes place (As the name implies) in the year 2049. Since it was made and released in 1999, it would be 50 years from then. The graphics have improved greatly, and has a very futuristic look with day and exceptional night racing.

The keys have been replaced with gold and silver coins that are also scattered around the track. The silver ones are much easier to find, but the rewards are not worth as much when compared to the gold coins which are sometimes much more difficult to reach, but the rewards are much greater when you earn enough of them.

The cars are much more customizable with a much wider selection of changes that you can make, like tires, handling, and much more.

One of the new additions to the series is the "Wing" feature, where wings will pop out of the car while airborne, where you can choose small or large which will affect what will happen while airborne with the wings engaged. Or in stunt mode, you can select stunt wings that will guide the car to peform tricks.

2049 carries three modes instead of two with the addition of the Battle mode.

The stunt mode has been COMPLETELY revamped. With a wide selection of places to choose from and a much wider selection of tricks you can perform, Rush 2 pales in comparison.

Battle mode is basically a knock-off of the Twisted Metal series and is pretty good in comparison.

And track selection includes two new tracks, Mission and Presidio. Mission is at sunset and Presidio at nightime. Mission can be troublesome and Presidio will test your skills to the limit.

Overall, Rush 2049 is truly worth buying, without any doubt. And would make a great gift for an SF Rush fan.

Addicting! I get hooked on this game every year when I visit my 8 and 11 year old nephews at Thanksgiving. The best part of the game is not the racing, but the other two "mini-games" that come along with it. There are so many racing style games that I get sick of them, but BATTLE and STUNT is both unique and tons of fun when you have multiple players. In battle everyone gets to drive randomly around a city (or arena) to find guns and to destroy the other players cars. It is the best of a car racing game and a first person shooter all roled into one. There is also a bit of strategy involved in the game since there are multiple types of weapons and you have to locate the best weapon to take on your opponent. Often this means protecting certain areas of the city since the guns always appear in the same spots (that sounds dumb but it actually adds to the fun of the game). Cool game! Stunt....well stunt is just fun to do!

Awsome game! Very smooth and colorful graphics.It has so many things you can do on it! Like battles,racing,stunt competitions and more! If you like cars,guns,battle and just plain having fun with your friends buy this title!

This game takes away from the reality-like feeling you get in the first 2 rush games. In those games you can look in Vegas and see the Stratosphere Tower, or drive through San Francisco and see the golden gate bridge. This game is too futuristic for my liking because the cars are futuristic and so are the scenarios. Stick to the first 2 games unless you like the futuristic feel. The one good thing about this game is the battle mode where you can battle your friends. That is where it earned it's 2nd star.

I've been playing this game for years and I LOVE it! Whether you race, battle or stunt, all aspects are great! Get this game!

I only have a demo disc from Official Dreamcast MAgazine with only one track, but I must say it lives up to the Rush name: Fast, agressive, fun, and exciting. My only gripe is that the 1track that I raced was a little on the boring side, but again, that was only ONE track out of six. A game that will tear apart the arcade racing genre, I am very excited for Rush's roar into home when its realesed. peace out

When ever i play a racing game it somtimes stinks the controlling is all screwed up. BUT when i played it i could not belive it was so good the cars rule the levels are great. This one is good.
