I loved it

Im gonna have to disagree with the previous reviews. I loved this game in its entirety. Considering how shallow the original one was and I still loved that one this was huge. Amazing graphics and fun gameplay. I dont think lack of blood is a reason to dislike a game, considering the blood in the dinos is plentiful. If you enjoyed the original at all this one will be amazing. A lot more options and much better dinosaur fighting action.

I rented this the other day and played it most of the way through, (I think) and was a little disapointed. The graphics are really cool, so are the weapons, and You can cycle through them a lot faster than You could in Turok Evolution on PS2. The Dinosaurs are intense, they rush You in packs, sometimes from all directions, they dodge Your attacks, run up trees, and are VERY fast. It's kind of a "button masher" in parts, pump o to pry open a door, R1 Or R2 to wrestle a dinosaur, but not as much as say, God of war. I liked being able to grab the little dinos and slash their throats, or rolling on the ground with a Raptor holding its jaws open while it tries to bite Your head off, jump up and hold it down with Your foot on its neck, and repeatedly stab it in the head. (Your friends will be helping too during all this) The dinos will twitch and contort, scream and bleed like crazy while they're dying, and the bodies stick around. And did I mention You'll be under attack by enemy soldiers during all this? Enemy soliders AI is pretty good, They'll take cover and call for backup, and scream stuff like "I'm hit", or "I've been shot". However, when You kill enemy humans there is NO blood. Maybe I sound like a ghoul, but when I sneak up on a enemy and plunge a 9 inch blade in His neck I expect to see blood, not this gay little pink light that flashes! And that's what happens when You shoot or stab enemy soldiers. This is SUPPOSED to be rated Mature, and anyone who's played Turok evolution knows what the gore factor's supposed to be in This game, You expect Turok to be a bloodbath. I think most of this game should have been rated teen.

Im a huge Turok fan. I was 11 when I saw the first commercial for the original Turok and my mouth was to the floor. Needless to say Turok was something I grew up playing. I even played the Gameboy versions and loved them.Ive seen great game, Turok and Turok 2, Ive seen ok, Turok 3, and Ive also seen horrible..Rage Wars.So where does this new Turok rank? Unfortuantly at horrible. I wanted to love this game but Ive never been so dissapointed, (Rage Wars looked like it was gunna suck from the get go, this one had potential.) Where do I start? Well to me Turoks strongest aspect was its story. I loved the lost land and the light burden and how the title of Turok was something passed down generations. WHat do we get here? A story that starts out promising and then goes in the trash. Like other reviewers said it disseapears. I was ok with the fact that they reimagined the whole thing but honestly this isnt worth it. The original story was leagues above this one. Graphics? Decent at best. EVerything looks like it needed more polish. Weapons, the thing that stood out the most in turok games, absolutly cannot hold a candle to the originals. Now you have a knife, bow, machine gun, a handgun that shoots energy grenades, pulse rifle, a weak sniper rifle, and a shotgun. Thats it!! Wheres the rocket launchers, cerebral bores, or any of the other cool weapons from the series? Oh and the shotguns lame, in turok 2 the shotgun would blow things in half and decapitate raptors. In the new game you just see blood get on the dinos and they die, thats it. Gameplay?? FLAWED. I like a challenge but its just not fair when a soldiers on a turret and they have a perfect aim at you, Trial and error is the way here and you WILL die alot. Worst part is the load times are long and theres plenty of situations when You'll die the first few seconds the mission starts then what? ANother load screen. And boss battle?? Well the T-Rex is it. and thats not even fun. Run around blasting in circles. That couldve been an epic battle that falls short. Turoks main nemesis Kain???? Its nothing mroe than an interactive cutscene. LAME!!!!!!!!!!!! Overall its not a good game, Mediocre at best. Trust me its not worth the 60$ to play. And Im a HUGE TUROK FAN. Im dissapointed and I hope a game developer can realize the potential this series has and take it to the next level.

Great Game!

I am so tired of killing zombies! This is a great change to the normal shooter. Graphics are amazing and the surround sound is amazing. It does a great job of dumping you in the jungle and making you feel like you're fighting for your life. Who doesn't like dinosaurs?

I give up on it

I waited awhile for this game to available to rent figuring it would be great. I was a bit disappointed. The graphics seemed to dark with not enought contrast. It's either green or shadows - making it kinda hard on the eyes.
I played it for a few hours and then gave up and probably won't play it again and definitely won't buy it. Biggest complaint? The save points suck!! You work and work to fight your way through, you get almost there and then get killed. Gotta start all the way back and do it all over again. They REALLY should have made a quicksave feature. If it had that I'd probably still be playing. Maybe I'm not the best gamer but I really don't have hours to spend trying to get through one small portion. So I give up and will look for something else a little more user friendly.

The Son of Stone has returned.

I played the demo for this game when it came out, and I liked it so I decided to buy the full game. In my opinion, Propaganda Games has done an excellent job re-imagining Turok for next-gen consoles, even if it is a little rough around the edges. Namely, the save system is a bit frustrating, and the shooting mechanics are a bit jumpy do to excessive screen shaking (if you turn down the sensetivity a notch or two though, the aiming is much better). Also, a minor complaint I had is that it should have been gorier. They don't shy away from the splatter when you kill Dinosaurs, but unfortunately, killing enemy soldiers is practically G-rated (I'm guessing it's because Disney isn't quite ready to deal with Jack Thompson yet). I suggest you ignore the haters and try the game for yourself before you pass judgment. It's a decent shooter and a solid return for the Turok franchise. It's not as good as Call of Duty, but guess what? The original Turok wasn't as good as Goldeneye, but that didn't stop people from enjoying it. You'll either like this game or you won't, so I suggest you try it for yourself.

Hopefully, Propaganda makes a good sequel to this game. They're a new developer, but I see a lot of potential in them. They just need to fix the shooting mechanics and save feature, and add the extra coat of visual polish that this game could have used (which is not to say it doesn't have good graphics, because for the most part it does) and they'll have a really good game on their hands.

OK so I'm officially done with Turok. If you already have COD4 or Ghost Recon, or even Resistance Fall Of Man, there's no need to waste your money on this piece of crap. I had high anticipations and expectations for this game but it is highly repeatitive and you only get to use the same old lame guns from begining to end. I've been playing this game for some time and I don't think I'll be finishing it. The save points are f*cktarded and after playing twenty minutes of shooting dinosaurs, you get shot up by some CGI creep and have to start all the way back again. Save your money, don't even rent this. I'm going to be giving mine away.

All I can say is this game sux.It is nothing like Turok of past days.I have played all the Turok games before this one.Was so looking forward to this version.Even finally bought PS3 to play it.Wow what a let down.Sold it after three days, that bad.
With the add of a side kick for Turok is what really killed it.Turok always fights alone. And that is what I always loved about he games before, among other things.
Ok,I must say one positive thing of the game, graphics are very good. But that is all.

Bought it, played it, didn't like it....

I bought this game based on the previous editions and the hype {I know huge mistake}. This game is boring, repetitive and the save points are terrible. As if the boards aren't bad enough, if you get killed you have to go all the way back to the start and repeat the whole boring thing over again. There is little in the way of entertainment, I finally just put it down. I suggest renting before you buy because I bet you won't like it. I know I wish I had.

Glad I rented it first

Okay so let me start out by saying this, I am SOOOO glad I only rented this game before I bought it. Its terrible. The Turok for the N64 was a fun game and don't get me wrong there are some fun points to this game (the bow and arrow was and is still awesome) but other than that this game is repetitive and boring. In the old Turok you could hold a multitude of weapons and while yes I know in real life you could only carry so many weapons with you isn't 1/2 the fun of a FPS carrying a ton of weapons and being able to choose between which ones you want. The programmers in this game force you to only carry 2 weapons at a time (in addition to your bow and knife and a sparse grenade that has been scattered here and there). So lets move on to my biggest pet peeve. Whenever you are hurt you basically go blind. Think Call of duty 4 right before death but on the 2nd shot (and not just blood surrounding your eyes the whole screen goes blurry). Which of course since you can't see anything you die very easily after only being hit once or twice (which gets REALLY old when you have to play the same level 20 times b/c you can't ever see). The game itself "tries" to have a story line but doesn't do to good a job of it. The dinosaurs themselves are pretty cool. I did like
