Despite the flaws, it is fun

You should know two things before you purchase this game: it has terrible graphics (even for the time it was released) and it has serious flaws.

Actually, the graphics for the objects aren't horrid, but they could have been better. The graphics for the characters/units are just sad. They aren't even colored in, they are just gray. It almost seems like the guy who was working on the models for this game died before he could finish and the game was shipped out anyways.

There are several errors and limitations for this game. One time I was playing my units just disappeared. It turned out that they were actually still there, but their pictures just disappeared, and somehow I was able to turn them visible again. The pathfinding in this game is dreadful--it could drive any sane man mad. You can't just select a few units and order them to go somewhere, you have to poke and prod them until they get there. Apparently this is why they made a certain "feature" in this game which allows you to pause the game in order to give orders to your units. Imagine playing this game online with both people pressing pause constantly. Actually, when I tried to play this game online no one was there...

Now, even with all of these drawbacks, I still like the game. There's just something about it that I really like. The game is set up in an interesting way. There are three blocks of land--one belongs to you, one to your opponent, and one is no man's land. You can build a base on your plot of land and the no man's land is connected to you and your opponent's land, which makes for a variety of different maps. You have a few traps you can place on your base to protect your little sphere from destruction, and your units can gain experience--assuming they live. Yes, units in this game can actually be killed, and they won't come back. This makes the deathmatches very frantic.

The deathmatches are pretty interesting because there are 3 rounds to it, which gives you plenty of time (in most cases) to blow up your enemy's base and defeat him.

The environment is completely destructible, which is very fun, because you can carve out paths to the enemy base and suprise him with an attack. There are also items you can find when you blow up walls, so it's good to do, even if, for some reason, you don't enjoy it.

I hope you give this game a chance even though it has a lot of flaws, and maybe one day we can fight each other online.

Great game

This is a great game, it's fun, replayable and moderately challenging, but easy to learn.

To comment on the review below, when I first played this game on my old computer the characters were just gray outlines as well, however on my new computer I get full color units, so he probably had the same level of lousy video card I did at the time. This game is fun, basically you control a group of warriors in a tournament style combat. It's an overhead view, and there are traps, everything can be destroyed... it's just fun and mayhem.
