The best version of Mortal Kombat 4

This is the best version of Mortal Kombat 4 you are going to find in a home system. People who say that if you own the Playstation or N64 version and should not upgrade are wrong. The graphics are extremely superior to either system. It is an exact duplicate of the arcade but they have added 5 new characters (Baraka,Milleena,Cyrax,Katana and Kung Lao). They have also added 3 new stages. Bottom line is if you didn't enjoy Mortal Kombat 4 in the arcades then you will not like this game but if you did you owe to yourself to get this version of the game. It really is the best home version you will ever find.

This game is a waste of money! If you have MK 4 don't get this game! It's lowsy and is pretty much and updated version of MK4.
Some thing's you might enjoy is that you can be Baraka and Mileena in this version. Good game to rent bad game to buy, enough said! If you would like to see any of my other reviews just look for my logo which is SMK that might be at the top or bottom of the review.OUT!

Basically MK4 for Dreamcast

If you allready own Mortal Kombat 4 for Playstation or N64, then there really is no reason to own this unless your a die hard MK fan. This game is essentially MK4 with added characters and much better graphics. One of the first games released for the Dreamcast.

Mortal Kombat's big debut for the Dreamcast was highly sucssful and yet people still think it's a waist of time. I highly recomend this game to any MK fan that has a Dreamcast this is a must by even if you never played the MK series you'll fall in love if you like a good fighting game it also brings you dazzeling 3-D graphics and 20 characters (not including seceret characters) this group of fighters contains classic brawlers like Liu Kang, Sonya Blade, Johnny Cage and more! this game is essetial to any hardcore MK fan it also has new fatealitys and brutaltiys with stunning FX olny found on the Sega Dreamcas. overall this game is HOT! but like I said only Fighter Fans.

Mortal Kombat 4 was already GOLD.

If Dreamcast is the only system you own then by all means this is a must have for MK4 fans. However the presence of the new fighters are not enough to constitute a new game. The characters that were not in MK4 bring with them their signature moves to this Sega Dreamcast version, but their weapons have the same moves and fuctions of the already excisting ones. Also the throw moves and bone breaker moves are already owned by MK4 original characters. As for the new fatalities, nothing new either. The MK4 fatalities are some of the best, but the new ones are not impressive here. Save your money if you already own MK4 for Sony PS1 or N64. If you do not own any excisting versions, the needless extras don't hurt I guess.

What do you expect?

If you are looking for something new and innovative, this is not it. This is a great Mortal Kombat game, thats all it is. Some of the other reviews here are a little misleading, they are expecting a whole new game. It is a near perfect replication of the arcade version. Characters included: Scorpion, Johnny Cage,Sub Zero, Katana, Mileen. There are even hidden characters to play, I believe Goro, Sector, Noob Saibot. Modes 1vs1 and 2vs2. Only complaint I have is the controls are pretty sensitive, you can't use the analog button, you have to use the regular directional pad, which is a pain in the Thumb. Thank God, I got the Blaze arcade stick, which does wonders for the game. The graphics are nice and so is the sound. The computer is pretty challenging even at the easy level at times, and there is no online play. Go ahead and grab this title (for the price you can't go wrong) and have a Mortal Kombat title for your DC. Gamer247 is OUT! GAME ON! (I actually give it 3 1/2)

Glitches A-plenty but still fun for fans

This in my opinion has the best roster in any MK game, Armegeddon excluded. I played this title more then any other game I had for my Dreamcast & was the second most played MK game I own.(The first being Armegeddon, Third MK 2). The one button Fatalitys are great for beginers. There is a HUGE problem with the camera getting stuck in walls during Fatalitys & win poses.

I have been a fan of Mortal Kombat for about ten years now, and had never played this one until about a month ago. What I love so much about this game is that it's just like the 2D games, but in 3D. The element of fun, and ridiculous is still here, not like in MKDA, or MKD, or MKA. Those games are "brutal" and the atmosphere just isn't the same. This is definitely my favorite Mortal Kombat game yet.
