A great Star Wars game!

I have not played a really good Star Wars game since the one for the N64 many, many years ago. I will now have to add Lego Star Wars to the small list of great Star Wars games.

First and foremost, this is a fun game which I would almost think is not for the real, real hard-core gamer. If you only like GTA or God of War, this might not be for you but if you like a bit of silly in your games this is one to look at. It is also a good game if you want something to play with your kids or other younglings. The violence is very cartoony but you still have Lego heads rolling around so you still get gore, be it plastic gore.

The game play is pretty straight forward...controls are easy to learn. Lots of stuff to unlock which makes for repeating levels and thus extended game play adding to your gaming dollar value. True, when all is unlocked and all levels are completed I will probably never touch this game again but in 4 months of casual gaming I have only about 19% of the game completed.

As an added bonus, many of the cut-scenes range from cute to really funny. I am not sure if I really like this because of the Lego or Star Wars aspect. I guess it is the perfect combination of the two. Hopefully with Lego Indy and Batman coming out, they same creativity and humor will be used to make those two games as enjoyable as this.

The one down side I have found is 'peg grinding' for lack of a better term. You earn pegs of various values with which you can buy / unlock items. There are many places where the pegs are free but you have to spend quite a bit of time chopping and breaking a lot of things to get the pegs. Basically, I spend the first 15 minutes after logging in 'peg grinding' to maximize my unlockables. It is not that you must do this but I cannot imagine how long it would take to unlock a lot of the stuff if you did not take advantage of these pegs...it just wastes time which I find to be a bit of a downer.

So, take this 4/5 as a really good review. I am not even sure what a 5 might be so I am saving it for the game or item that changes my life. In all this is a very good game. I am very selective about 360 games as I prefer the Wii but I had to have this for the 360.

So Cute i want to play
