Worth Every Penny - And The Wait

We started out by thinking that the original DDR for the XBOX (NOT 360) was compatible with our new 360. Not so. Pretty disappointed when we found that the plugs were different on the dance pad, and once we found a "joy box" that turned the xbox dance mat into a usb-type pad; it still didn't work. Returned it and skeptically ordered the 360 version with 2 months and counting for the release. It arrived last week, and I have to say, it is a LOT of fun! Our kids are on it constantly, it is great to get up and play a "game" and move around. Even the adults are on this thing. The beats are actually very well put-together. The tunes are beat-driven to help you learn from beginning all the way up. Once you pass and get a perfect "grade" by dancing the correct way on the mat to the song, it unlocks another song in the progression of difficulty. You can also log onto xbox live and compete against others live. Haven't done that yet, we are trying to not fall over and trip still! I recommend this to anyone who is sick of sitting on the couch and wants to try something new. Also has a workout mode. Believe me, 3 to 4 songs nonstop and you are working up a sweat without pressing the workout option. We just ordered another dancemat after exhaustive research. This pad slips all over the place, so get some velcro to keep it still when dancing. Check out the dance pad pro (on amazon). It has a port for your headset and of course eventually the karaoke games that will obviously come out in the future.

I bought this game 4 days ago and my girlfriends have been coming over every night to play! Let me just say that I had never played this game before. I bought the Xbox360 because i wanted the hd dvd player (the attachment is only 200 dollars and does wonders for my 50 inch hdtv). I figured that one day i may play a game on the machine, but i am not by any stretch a "gamer." Basically, the xbox and hd dvd attachment were less expensive than a stand alone hd dvd player, so i ended up with the xbox360...ANYWAY...Dance Dance Revolution has changed the purpose of my XBOX360, and it is the probably one of the best games i have ever played! It is so much fun and so user friendly! Also-it is a fantastic workout. Seriously. I have never written a review on Amazon before, however I had to take the time to give some feedback here because I think everyone needs one!!!

Once my kids showed me how to work the game, I love it! I can sign in, put in my weight information and put the game into workout mode. It tracks how many calories I've burned while playing the game. Doing challenges or going into the Quest Mode can be addicting...I keep trying to "beat" the game and before you know it I've been exercising for over an hour! Much more fun than going to the gym!!!

Overall, pretty fun.

Great for a family or parties. Good game, I don't understand all of the modes, and you'd need another pad to have two players play at once, but I like it. A game that actually give you exercise, lol.
One concern: this mat is slippery, use bare feet and put a yoga mat under it.

This is a great game for teens that doesn't involve any muder, shooting or bad language. Hey, how can it be that much fun? BUT IT IS! Great physical exercise and fun for kids 11 to 18!

My wife LOVES this game, shes dancing on it every chance she gets. I can hardly play the 360 anymore!

This game is one of the funnest ever. It's a great workout and get's you moving with new moves. It's more challenging then you might think but that's half of the fun. It's even better playing with friends but you won't be disappointed playing on your own.

My brother gave this to my 6 year old daughter for Xmas. I thought it might be a silly waste of money, but boy was I wrong! My daughter is ADDICTED to it! She just cried herself to sleep because it's bedtime and we wouldn't let her dance one more song. What was the biggest surprise is that everyone tried it out and loved it. My brother and his girlfriend had a "dance-off" and he's buying one for himself. Even my 62 year old father tried it out. Plus it's not only fun to do but fun to watch. Perfect for parties!

My daughter who is 15 recieved DDR as a Christmas gift this year. She absolutely loves it! My son(13 yrs.) and my husband also get in on the fun. It is also a great workout. It is kind of like guitar hero for your feet. I definitely reccomend it to any age group.
