Baseball Simulator is FUN

First off, of course graphics are going to be hurting, especially if you've played the newer systems or even a machine at the arcade before those systems. Baseball simulator is FUN. Anybody can make a baseball game with the real teams, the real players, the real feel, etc. Are those any fun? No. They try to be so real that they lose the fun factor. Baseball simulator brings in special powers, bomb-ball, power-swing, multi-pitch, and more to add spice to the players and to the game itself. Got 2 strikes on the big hitter? Strike him out with 200 mph super super fast ball (literally ssfb special power). It plays like any other baseball games of the time, except you can actually hit the ball. This is a baseball game you can play. Not cuss at. And anybody can play it, kids, adults, anybody. I started playing this game when I was 17 years old and I had played all those other ones looking for something FUN. This was it and if you want a fun baseball game, for the money, and the ease of playability, this is it.

Baseball at it's finest

I have been a fan of this game since the early 1990's when it came out. It is the gameplay that stands out - it reminds me of playing Tecmo Super Bowl, but as a baseball game. It's fun to jump and dive around on defense and the control feels fluid. Batting seems a little broken will lots of pop ups but that's on the hardest difficulty and the CPU pitches well in that case.

I love playing 162 game seasons of the real teams (not the special teams with the silly pitches and hits). Even though there are six AL teams and six NL teams, they are the real players with the real stats from 1990. This makes the game in my opinion, to have a game this early with real rosters (well they have fake names but anyone with the internet can go to baseball-reference and see the 1990 rosters for those teams).

Currently running through a season with the Chicago White Sox, with a rookie Sammy Sosa, Frank Thomas and Jack McDowell...Just brilliant gameplay, thanks again Culture Brain! This game is still greater than all the newer junk they throw out there now that looks sexy but is clunky and lacks in gameplay and overall fun.
