Warhawk is an action multiplayer online game. If you are looking for a single player experience then look elsewhere (Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Folksoul). However, it is one of the best multiplayer experiences you can have. For $40 you can download it directly from the PSN store which is a steal in my book. But the retail price is an even better deal. For $60 you get the manual, box, blu-day, a $40 Bluetooth headset to communicate online(which you can also use with your phone), a USB charger which can be useful to charge that second controller as well and the ability to have LAN parties with one disk. Its a great price.

Ok on to the greatness that is this game.
Pros:
- Very Solid Framerate
- No lag. If you are an 360 owner, you are not stranger to LAGGY games. Sony is using Dedicated servers on most of their first party games which means zero to no Lag. Resistance is still the best online multiplayer experience so far and the Warhawk will now carry that torch. Makes you wonder why you pay a monthly fee for Lag on Live doesn't it :(
- Controls are spot on. Flying the warhawk using Motion Control is quite a treat and has advantages like leaving your thumbs free for precise aiming.
- 32 Player online action.
- 2-4 split screen! battle it out with your friends at home!
- Retail version ($60) will allow you to have LAN parties with other PS3s without needing more than one disk. This means 32Player LAN parties with one disk!!!!!!!!
- A lot of content. Unlike shadowrun (another multiplayer only game) Warhawk has a lot of maps and variety.

So there you have it. Simply put, there is no better online multiplayer game at the moment. If you are a fan of the Battlefield games or simply enjoy multiplayer fun you need this game.

Warhawk: My first online gaming addiction

I have been a gamer for a long time and have particularly been a fan of Shooter games especially on the PC. Somehow, online multiplayer shooters have never been my cup of tea. I have tried Battlefield series, Resistance and a few others.

The main reason is that even after putting in weeks I continue to suck at these games. Somehow, that stops being fun very soon.

However, I think I have finally found my Multiplayer addiction. I picked up Warhawk as an impulse buy and after just two days I am absolutely hooked.

The graphics etc. are pretty good. It has some issues with stats and online leaderboards. Lacks some lobby features. Some of these are going to be addressed soon, others we'll have to live with.

What makes this game one of the best I have played, however, is the gameplay. For the first time learning the game was actually fun. While I am pretty bad at it, I can still have fun being bad. It takes a few hours to learn the ropes. I suggest you download/read the manual and a few online guides. After that this game has me totally hooked. I am giving it 5 stars for it's mind blowing gameplay. Even the initial learning curve is hugely fun.

Pick it up if you like shooters. You will "Get" online multiplayer gaming with this.

It's about time...

I am an owner of both a PS3 and a Xbox360. Up until recently I have been pissed with the PS3's library of games (compared to 360), but that might be changing soon...
I picked up Warhawk and I must say "This game is loads of fun". Seriously if I had to describe Warhawk in one word, that word would be "FUN". The game runs very smoothly online.

Graphics- The visuals in this game are stunning. The draw distance and scope of the levels are like nothing I have seen. Flying through the clouds is pretty sweet. It feels like you are in the middle of a battle.

Sound- There is nothing like walking around on foot and hearing a Warhawk fly by speeding over your head. Or the sound of Rockets buzzing past you. Machine gun fire from turrets. All in 5.1 Glory!!!

Control- you are going to get OWNED for the first few games till you catch on. But dont worry at first it might seem pretty difficult but it actually becomes second nature very quickly (about 1hr)

Fun Factor- An ABSOLUTE BLAST.

If you own a PS3 this is a must have. If you do not own a PS3 this might not be the game that makes you go get one but it will definately add validity to the purchase.

This is how games are made! and finally the PS3 is worth it

Wow, this game is incredible. Warhawk brings you into massive battles and lets to take part in all aspects, on foot, groud vehicles like tanks and jeeps, and EPIC air battles in the legendary Warhawks, Unlike most games were the on foot things work but once you step into a vehicle, the controls and physics all suck, Warhawk makes not only foot controls but vehicle and most of all the air controls really work, and work well. You can choose to hop into a tank and go bulldoze the enemy down, work on foot and get a sniper rifle and pick of enemies, grab a flamethrower and burn down their vehicles, take part in big gun battles between sides, jump in a jeep while a fellow team mate mans the turret on the back, jump into a flak cannon and riddle the skies with massive flak blasts to deter enemy warhawks, jump into a warhawk and scream across the battlefield bombing troops below or locking onto enemy targets and blasting away meanwhile preforming insane turns and barrel rolls to avoid enemy missiles, ALL IN THE SAME GAME!!!! I can't get over how awsome this game is and how much it lets you do in the warzones. Do yourself a favor and buy this game before you miss out on what will surley become a classic. I still am confused why there hasnt been any advertising for this game, but don't let that sway you, you will love this game absolutly.

better than i imagined

When i first heard about it, i wondered how much fun it was going to be flying plays and shooting others, OVER and OVER and OVER AGAIN....

I actually purchased the game (PSN network, download only) to find that there was so much more to the game.

Planes, Automobiles, Tanks, Turrets, and you can just run on foot if you wish.

THE GAME IS a bit complex when you start. once all the controls have finally settled in, and you understand the map/modes, the game is awesome. And youll never be playing alone, as there are tons of people online at this very moment playing the game.

CONs
-if you dont have a HIGH SPEED network, then the game probably isnt for you
-If you dont have a headset, communication will be hard, granted its not that big of a deal.
-After awhile, what is there to do?

NOW this game is truly detailed, an ok soundtrack, but its amazing how well and smooth the game is. Once youve logged on, the game because amazing.

I would recommend if you enjoy online combat

A must have for any Playstation 3 Owner!

I bought a playstation 3 just for this game (of course ill buy others from here on out) and I am so glad I did. I had never played online before and was worried that I might not enjoy it, but the developers made this game SO user friendly. You just keep getting better and better. An extremely fun game, definately worth the $60 bucks.

Outstanding multiplayer experience.

Whew! That's how you feel after you put down the controller. This is one of those mindblowing games that is so frenetic all the time you can hardly catch your breath. The dogfighting is amazing, graphics look nice, no lag. There are already tons of servers to connect to, so getting in a game is easy. It takes a little while to get used to the controls, but once you do it is balls to wall action. Keep in mind there is no real story here. There is no real campaign to undertake. Some might be turned off by that, but I found that it didn't detract from the overall experience. Historically, I've never been much for online play, but this game may have just changed my mind.

Don't buy this Game

You risk your social life, your job and your relationship. This game is seriously addicting, I can't get enough and I fear my marriage my suffer because of it.

This online multiplayer shooter is everything I hoped it would be and more. It's fast paced and intense, provides an immersive atmosphere, impressive variety and rewards teamwork and strategy. The feeling of being in the middle of a pitched battle while trying to claim that crucial zone (or defend your flag, or to survive that dogfight, or bring the enemy flag home for the win) is amazing. You've got Warhawks dogfighting overhead as you take on ground troops and tanks. Bullets whiz by and explosions detonate all around as you hope those same aircraft don't take notice of you, all the while you've got to keep moving as you never know when that sniper will find you in his sites. Or, you can choose to be the person in the Warhawk, defending your team as they battle it out on the ground. Or, you can be the sniper, hiding on a hill just waiting for that perfect shot to present itself. Really, the possibilities are huge.

When you find yourself on a team that is using their headsets it gets even better as a well coordinated attack or defense can turn the tide of the battle.

With Incognito's promise of downloadable content to come you can bet this game will grow and evolve giving you reasons to keep coming back to it. There have been a couple of bugs that have cropped up since its release but, in all honesty, they haven't really affected my enjoyment of this game in the slightest and with Incognito's dedication to making this game great you can bet that these issues are soon to be fixed.

So, if you didn't get the sarcasm in my title, let me rephrase:

GO OUT AND GET THIS GAME TODAY!

And while I won't go so far as to say that this game alone is a reason to buy a PS3 if you don't already have one, with all the great games on the horizon combined with how great this game is, now is as good a time as any to get a PS3.

Best multi-player experience on any console

Warhawk is a well made next-gen game that rivals the PC multiplayer experience. There's no time wasted with a single player or ridiculous storyline. You join a server and get right down to killing the other team.

The graphics are great. Lately, most of us have realized that better graphics don't necessarily amount to a better game. Warhawk keeps gameplay as the #1 priority but have managed to really give the game the next-gen look. Most importantly though, the game runs smooth; excellent frame rates even with 31 other players flying around.

The controls are a big part of why this game is so fun. Everything is very intuitive. On foot, into jeeps and tanks, or taking to the skies in a warhawk, everything feels natural. You can also choose whether or not to use the sixaxis motion control. I like how they give you the option because it was a little difficult for me at first. So I've decided to learn the controls using analog first and then graduate to using the motion sensor later on.

There are a couple different game modes: Death match, Team Death match, Capture the flag, and Zones. I've been having lots of fun with Zones but all of them are worth playing.

You can also have 2-4 players join you in any online game but picking up a controller and simply pressing start. The game plays better than I thought it would in split-screen. You barely notice after a while.

One negative is that there is no tutorial and you'll have to just play and figure things out for yourself. Which isn't too difficult given how they've taken the simplistic route with this game. But it might be a little frustrating for the first half hour or so.

Overall, this is a must-buy game. For me it's a 10/10 but I realize some people really love their single-players so if you're one of them obviously this wouldn't be the best option but I'd recommend trying it out, you might be surprised. Single players are useless after you've played it through once. And most of them include some type of multiplayer to give you some sort of replayability but Warhawk focuses ENTIRELY on the multiplayer experience and you will be able to play this game forever. It just doesn't get old, this type of game.

I highly recommend you check this game out. There is literally no other game on the PS3 that even comes close. On any next-gen console actually. If you enjoy games like Counter-strike and Battlefield on the PC this is the game that'll bring you back to consoles. No keyboard/mouse but you might actually come to prefer the controller setup for this game. It's really that good.
