Beautiful and Extremely Deadly

I had been eyeing BloodRayne 1 and 2 for quite some time, and I had feeling that this just might be a game that I would truly enjoy playing.
Playing BloodRayne 1 was fantastic, but playing BloodRayne 2 was superb! The graphics, the gore, and the storyline are just as engrossing (if not more) than the original BloodRayne. They've made quite a few improvements since the last one, and not only on BloodRayne. They've also improved on the looks of the levels, the bosses, as well as the enemies. I have spent many sleepless nights playing this game, and I don't think I'll ever tire of it.
I would gladly recommend it to anyone looking for good, entertaining, and truly engrossing game.

I have been playing Bloodrayne 2 for about a week now and I have to say up front that it sure reminds me of Prince of Persia WW. Which is not to say that Bloodrayne is a bad game, quite the opposite, it rocks. Fantastic level design, loads of baddies, great moves, and music to gore by, rail sliding, and guns-guns-guns!! I have finally gotten the combat system under control and can now lop of heads, arms, and legs with aplomb, spearing a guy in the gut and tossing him into a furnace, or a big ol' spike, these are the moments gamers live for. The graphics are really good for the size of the game, loads of textures for buildings, curtains that get holes, tears and blood on them as you fight, masssive minions that die really well, it's all here. Let's not forget the story, you'll actually want to watch the cutscenes. I'm impressed, add that to the fact that this game can be had for under 20.00 and... WE HAVE A WINNAH!!
Get it, you'll like it, theres nothing like beating the hell out of four pipe wielding thugs amid screams and trash talking as blood and bullets fly. And that only covers the surface, the level of carnage you can wreak on enemies in blood fury mode is astounding. There are more gun modes than I can cover, from machine pistols, to flaming rounds, and timed blood bombs, all the way to shotgun like blasters. Dig it.

Fun at first, but gets repetitive after a while

The first Bloodrayne game was a surprisingly fun third person actioner with a busty heroine, so naturally a sequel was subsequently released. Titular half vampire, half human heroine Rayne returns in the modern day this time, taking on descendants of her evil father Kagan who are planning to resurrect their master and bring chaos to the world. With Bloodrayne 2, the story is only secondary as you hack, slash, and splatter tons of foes who all look like they robbed the local Hot Topic. How you dispatch these enemies is where the real fun of the game is to be had; as different button combinations allow you to perform different, and bloody, kill combos. Also, there are slight puzzle elements where you must dispatch an enemy using the environment to advance, which is a nice touch as well. However, the game does get quite repetitive after a while, which isn't much of a surprise, but it really hurts the game's overall rating. The game looks decent for the most part and the over the top gore is nicely done, while the atrocious dialogue and terrible voice acting grates on the nerves, but has a goofy charm to it nonetheless. All in all, Bloodrayne 2 is worth checking out for a quick and bloody action fix, and hey, it least it's better than the movie that was adapted from it.

I always thought that game looked stupid but one of my friends got me to play it and now its my favorite game.

Rayne is out to kill her fathers family for good. You battle vampires, damphires, and very mad people. You get items such as guns, swords, aqua vision, and harpoons. You start off in a mansion and work your way to alleys and rooftops. Overall I think this is a great day I've beat it 3 times and I still play it all the time. You wont waste your money or time.

I did not like the first Bloodrayne, and going into this one I was completely burnt out on the concept of half-human half-vampires and all of their obligatory angst. However, I am partial to sexy redheads in leather wielding arm blades and guns, so I gave it the benefit of the doubt. To my surprise, the game was fantastic. I was worried at first, since the graphics seemed dated, but it didn't take long before I realized it was probably a compromise to make way for the real physics engine.

For some, the novelty of murdering people by decapitation, impalement, or severing limbs may wear off early, but if you're creative you can find ways to kill that perhaps the developers never intended. Abilities such as slowing or freezing time and blood fury (relative invincibility and increased gratuitousness) open up all kinds of possibilities. There's a story here too, but one that takes a backseat to the action and more primal appeal of the game. Rayne's edginess only adds to her allure, and she has some of the funniest one-liners since Hana of Fear Effect fame. Extras such as new outfits, art galleries, god mode, and a trailer for the BloodRayne movie are just more incentive to play through to the end. In short, this game is everything its predecessor wasn't - FUN.

better than the first

BloodRayne 2 is much better than the first, because the graphics are much more realistic, the plot is solid, and the acrobatic moves are far more cool.
