More songs would be good but the game is a blast!

Well, the kids have enjoyed a LOT. Too bad the microphone is a complete piece of junk (which is the reason for 1 star). The wire(s) are loose inside of it and it either won't work at all or scratches horribly. We've only had it since September. Recommendation - avoid.
Update 2008-05: Have since contacted Logitech (maker of the microphone) by phone, and email several times. Was promised a no-cost replacement mic. It took some time and multiple follow up emails & phone calls to finally recieve it 3 mos after the initial contact.

This game is a lot of fun & so are all the other Karaoke Revolution games. I don't know why there aren't any new games coming out by Konami which is who made this game. Konami is far superior to whoever makes Singstar. The sony Singstar games are TERRIBLE !! If you like to sing Karaoke you will definetly like Karaoke Revolution better than Singstar. Singstar has a terrible scoring system, you have no way to turn down the volume of the actual singer so it really isn't Karaoke at all. Singstar should be called Sing-Along. It is a far more inferior game than Karaoke Revolution. I also don't know why Konami stopped making the older Karaoke Revolution Games like Vol 1, 2, 3, Party and Country. They could have made a killing on those games. You can only find them used now & they are hard to find. There is almost a cult following for karaoke revolution games. Sony needs to get it together & make they're Karaoke games the way Konami has.

My gf wanted a karaoke revoltuion game since she loves karaoke well I played this and I got say now, I love karakoe too. This is a fun game.
The only drawback is that the American Idol aspect of it. First of all, not all of the judges are represented, Paula Abdul does not lend her voice to this and the scripted lines the judges say run are pretty much in a loop. And the song selection is not huge. Other then that this game makes for a great Karakoe Night at home.
The USB mic is good too. It's got a pretty long cord and is responsive.

Nice game, with good graphics. The song selection is not that good, and the comments by the judges get rather stale, but over all it's a great addition to the Karaoke Revolution line.

We had a blast with this game, as a family. Love the retro songs. Would like to see some modern ones for the kids, but it was fun to hear my daughter sing 'hungry like the wolf". Tons of fun! I recommend the shorter version for groups, but this is very versitle. Great Game!

I must have played this game 8 million times. I love it!! I've only ever seen a couple of American Idol shows, because i work when it is on, but it really has doesnt matter because i skip over the judging anyway.
It is tons of fun to unlock the hidden characters and songs. Not for the shy though... you definately have to play with people who wont make fun of you!
Great game, highly recommended!!!!

This game is great.... The kids love it... and it is fun for the entire family... Great to play when you have company.... But.... The microphone that it comes with is a little cheap... We only had the game for a week and the microphone broke... The screening on the top comes off and then you can't screw it back on.. Then no sound comes out of it.... And they need to add more songs..... Otherwise the product is a lot of fun!!!!

I love this game! My whole family has fun with it. It has lots of songs, but I wish you could somehow add to it. I love dressing up my character and changing the look.

I gave this to my 11 yr old daughter for her birthday and her friends and her played this game all night long and they still were playing it in the morning. And between her older sister and her, they have been playing this game for the last 5 days straight. They sure love it, but they have taken over the TV in the family room. I would rate it a 5 for fun for the kids... but for the parents, it sure limits the usage of the TV.
