Lots of Fun

I really like Dynamite Cop!

The game is a sort of a choose your-own-adventure, side-scrolling fighter. You've got to defeat the pirates and rescue the President's daughter. There are 3 missions - READ: 3 different ways to board the ship - and while they all eventually lead to the same ultimate confrontation, there is a good deal of variety depending on which entry route you choose.

There is actually a great deal of sophisticated moves - more than you'd think - like grabs that break bones in 13 different joints before you let go of an opponent, and when you've got your hand gun, you can arrest a perp, or even force them to empty their pockets for goodies.

There are also animated sequences periodically where you've got to hit the right button at the right time to succeed, and missing them is sometimes more fun than hitting them. Actually, this game is pretty funny - intentionally so

Yes, you CAN defeat each mission in about 20 minutes apiece, which at first really disappointed me, but there are a lot of extras, artwork to collect and hidden/alternate characters to unlock, and I've found replay value pretty high, especially with two players. If I could change one thing, I would make it longer.

Loads of fun with a friend (including a vs. mode). And survival mode is a challenge when playing solo.

I'm 24/m.

Ok, you turn on the game and you think wow! These graphics are awesome and you feel real good that you picked such a good game. But five minutes later when you beat the whole game it makes you feel really stupid. All that you get when you beat the game is a pathetic aracade game that has got to be 45 years old. For some games, when you beat them you can't wait to play it again; NOT WITH THIS GAME! A replay the game is NOT an option. The game barely keeps you awake when you play it for the first time let alone the second! Unless you like feeling like you have WASTED 50 dollars then DONT buy this game but if you like wasting money go right ahead.

This game only lasts for a very short time!

I quess I am kind of interested in the new Sega games becausethey are getting so real looking. This game is a real disappointment.I completed it in only 30 minutes! It's much to easy and it doesn't spark your imagination at all! I still don't understand how Sega could have approved of this game and let it be shipped to the market.

I do recommend Toy Commader, however. That is a really fun game to play. It also sparks your imagination. END

Short lived fun at best

Worthy of a rental, but that's about all it's worth. It only took me fifteen minutes to finish the game. Good graphics, but no replay value.

Great Game Play, Graphics not at Dreamcast Capasity

I am an Employee of Softeware ECT. I got a demo to play of Dynamite Cop. It was an extreamely fun and addictive game. It is much like Die Hard Trilogy. However, the graphics are a little fuzzy and I don't believe that they are at Dreamcast's full capasity of 128 bit graphics. Each character you can fight with has their own unique fighting style, and each has a different background. There are a variety of weapons that you can find in the game, however some of them are a little bit unrealistic. For instance, on the second mission, you find this anti-missle rocket launcher, and when you shoot it, it creates this explosion that looks almost nuclear and it doesn't kill the enemies on impact everytime eather. In addition, you're not even hurt by it. Over all, I think it looks cool, and I can't wait to buy it.

Great game - for 20 minutes.

That's not the demo you were playing - it's the whole game! Dynamite Cop is an action game similar to Streets of Rage. You control one of three members of a Special Forces unit to infiltrate a hijakced cruise liner and rescue the hostagse. Moves consist of punck, kick, or punck and kick while the bad guys vary from young punk to young pink with red cape on. The game has alot of action, however, and it very fun. That is until you finished it in 20 minutes. Replay value is nill since it's exact same game everytime you play.

It's fun...for about five minutes

Arcade conversions usually aren't the best games out there, mainly because arcade games play by different rules. They're meant to be easy to pick up and able to hold onto your attention for a little while. But when they're brought to home consoles, they get old fast. And Dynamite Cop gets old very fast. You punch the bad guys with a variety of weapons for about fifteen minutes, then the game ends. That's it. Not too impressive.

Short

Its Short -- Really short... I would say the shortest game i have ever played. I was suprised. I would agree with a previous review that its worthy of a rental, but thats about it. Its fun for the whole 15 minutes it takes you to beat it. It has 0 replay value (to me anyway). Even if you get the detinator pak of the net, it adds a stungun (woo, big yip) and a new character and thats it.

Another dud from Sega's Naomi lineup.

If you can harken back to Sega's last system, the Sega Saturn, you should remember a little gem ported from their highly successful arcade game Die Hard Arcade (DHA). Although it was a tad short (It took the average gamer about an hour to finish the game) there was still a sense of magic that always brought you back to play no matter how many times you beat it. Dynamite Cop, which is the sequel to DHA, is even shorter than it's predecessor and frighteningly easy to boot. Although the graphics are marvelous, (Well I mean c'mon, this is the Dreamcast, what doesn't have gorgeous graphics?) gamers will be dissapointed by the ease involved in taking down Wolf Hongo and reclaiming the hijacked cruise liner. I by no means recommend a purchase. Unfortunately, Sega's going to have to create some more deep games if they wish to stay on top.

It is a wonerful game

I go the demo for this game and i absolutley loved it. Me and my friend played it non-stop for hours! It is a great recreation of the die-hard triligy and i reccomend it to all action fans
