This game stains all that is Harry Potter. The gameplay is annoying and doesn't set a mood. It is to easy and not interesting. Even quidditch is boring. What I really wish for is a game with some thought to it. I would really them to make Harry Potter Quidditch. I really like the idea of quidditch and if they put the sport into a game and add some real thought to it, it might be a best seller

This ia a GREAT game for all ages! A MAGICAL DELIGHT.
The game has nice colourful graphics resolution (except for a few transition blurs) and gentle musical scores which fit the action-adventure style of the game. It is suited for children of all ages as well as adults with a flare for Harry Potter.
It begins as Harry stumbles around Hogwart castle with the player becomes increasingly accustomed to the gameplay.
One begins to learn how to cast magic tricks, jump, maneouvre, collect all-flavour jelly beans, open hidden trapdoors, energise with jumping chocolate frogs or drinking magical portions.
There is also a flying lesson early on, where Harry is required to fly through over 30 hoops. Although a little difficult for smaller children, it is a good opportunity to develope manual dexterity (I confess I am in a surgical career).
There is pretty much only one path through the game (except for the more adventurous to collect all the beans and reap the rewards behind the talking portraits), and rescuing Harry's owl is a relatively easy introduction to the game which aims to capture even the youngest players.
The game does, however, becomes more complex and harder in some of the later stages. The notable ones include the cauldron (where Harry collects the portion for Snape in the dundgeon), the Forbidden forest (where Harry collects the fireflies), the mineshaft rides in the vault, and the last confrontation battle with Lord Voldermot. Playing Quiddich and chasing Malfroy on a flying broomstick are absolute delights. Smaller children may benefit from the help of an adult, providing great opportunities for socialising and family bonding.
I am not an experienced adventure game player but I completed the game and all the bonus jelly beans sections in 15 hours.
The flow of the game approximately parallels that in the book and that in the movie. One develops a sense of knowing the character and belonging to the adventure and shares the same ambition of defeating the ultimate evil.
Overall, except for a few minor technical issues, the game is very well designed and does take the player through a series of MAGICAL adventures OUT OF THIS WORLD.
9.9/10.

I just bought this game today and had to post my thoughts. Moving the character around the screen is difficult and confusing, which makes the first flying lesson difficult. In the first flying lesson you have to fly through several sets of moving hoops in the order they appear in, but with the controls so backwards this is not easy. You can reverse the flying controls in the setup, but that is the only change you can make and the movement is still difficult. I don't think the game controls were designed with kids in mind. Instead, the game seems thrown together. However, once you get past the confusing controls and mediocre graphics the game itself is fun. There are plenty of puzzles and action. One other bad thing is you can't save the game whenever you want to. Instead, you need to find a "saving point" which is a red book located inside the school (or at least so far this is the only one I've seen). After only playing for 15 minutes or so, I was already 10% finished with the entire game. This is kind of disappointing because for a ... game, there should be more tasks to complete. My recommendation is to rent the game first. Most places let you keep it for five days. If this game is as short as it seems to be, then you should be able to finish it in five days. Of course, if you're a die hard Harry Potter fan, then this is a nice something to add to your collection.
pathetic excuse for a game

This game is awful. Well, it's truly only suited for small children, and they should make that clear! Also, it breeds bad habits in future video game players. Let me explain:
First of all, the quidditch flying system is terrible. It is horribly unresponsive, and worst of all, the control system is backwards. Pressing foreward on the control pad brings the nose UP, not down. It's extremely hard to adjust to for advanced gamers, and teaches young players to fly that way, so it will be hard for them to adjust to the system used by real planes and 95% of all video games.
The game is pathetically easy as well. I beat it in about three hours -- and I'm not an advanced gamer, especially with this sort of adventure game.
Come on. Give us our money's worth. Please.

This game was the bomb. I liked it because it wasnt really a bloody challenging game but more of a virtual tour of Harry Potter's magical world. I love it! I've read all four of J.K. Rowlings Harry Potter books. I've also seen the movie. This game is exactly like the book (which I also gave 5 stars)! The graphics were great and I loved the part where you play Quddich. I also liked enteracting with all the wizards and witches of Hogwarts. I suggest you try this game!!!

i bought this for my five year old son for christmas...like a lot of youngsters in recent times he's been harry potter mad! :-) he asked me numerous times for this game. as a parent i've found it fairly hard finding games that i feel are suitable for my five year old...i found some baby games which i know he'd hate and loads of teen and adult games that were by no means suitable.
a friend of mine advised me against getting this as she thought it might be too violent or scary...it's not at all :-) i'm glad i got it...my son really enjoys playing it and it seems to be tailored to the needs of a young audience...if you have older children or experienced gamers to buy for then this probably is not what your looking for...my eight year old nephew who is well used to playing playstation games got through the whole game quite rapidly, he said it was fun but that he though he might get bored with it quite quickly...if on the other hand your looking for something for the young upcoming gamer in your family this is likely to be a real hit :-)
The crazy, aggravating, playstation game!!!!!!!

In this game the people look like a cross between dead moles, and squirrels.(especially Dumbledore.) In quidditch it's not good! you go way too slow , and have to fly through dumb rings. Fluffy looks like a big blob of chocolate. in the corrider it's stupid! Filch just sits there yelling his head off hoping someone will hear him, when nobody but you him and his cat are there! The only thing he says is "Intruder, Intruder in the forbidden corrider!" or "Oh, we are in trouble now aren't we?!" You can only wear the invisibility cloak for five seconds! I mean in the game you don't even have fingers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very interesting game but there were something missing. Excellent graphics, rather annoying if you keep repeating the mini-games. The game has audio for everything everyone says. You can collect Bertie Bott's Every Flavored Bean and trade them for passwords with Fread and George Weasly. You pretty much learn spells and solve puzzles in the castle. Definitely a Harry Potter fan should get, and quite useful for those know can't visulize Hogwarts.
