Ghost Squad - Sega's answer to Namco's Time Crisis series

I've been a huge fan of the Time Crisis series since I played the first one in arcades in the mid 90's. Since many new TVs won't accept the PS1 & PS2 Guncon light guns I've been out of luck for the past few years since switching to LCD TVs. Luckily Nintendo & Sega are here with a great game called "Ghost Squad" which is very similar to, and in some cases directly lifts (boat stage), elements of Time Crisis.

I never played Ghost Squad in the arcades, but there is an arcade port of it as one of the modes. You can have up to two players in the arcade mode, and up to four players in the "party" mode. I have played both with another player, and it was a blast to play. My cousin and I got a great blast out of accidentally killing hostages in the stages where the jump out like the enemies. The more you play through the game successfully, the more difficult the game becomes, and then you start to unlock new costumes and guns for you to be able to select prior to entering the game. That feature is different from many of the Time Crisis games I've played and is more than welcome. As a matter of fact, it gives Ghost Squad a great deal of replay value!

Ghost Squad is definitely a keeper for a light-gun-game addict, but there is one thing the reader must be warned about. If you are expecting the accuracy of the Namco Gun-Con, you are going to be sadly disappointed. The WiiZapper still obviously uses the Wiimote, which uses the sensor bar. Any accuracy issues you have with the Wiimote, you're going to have with any Wii gun games. You can't shoot by feel like you do with the Gun-Con, you do have to use the on screen aiming. This is the only thing that detracts from the experience, but it is an issue with modern gaming and the Wii system. In that way, it does not represent this fun game, which is why I give it a full 5 stars.

This is a simple game point and shot. Some people may think this game is too short but do not let this stop you from buying this game. There are bonus guns, uniforms, and etc. that will make you come back for more. This is a cheap game that is fun. If you like Classic Sega shooters(like Virtua Cop and House of the Dead) than you will be very happy with Ghost Squad!!!!!!

it's just as fun as Virtua Cop ever was!

this game is just as fun, if not more, than the Virtua Cop series. i would recommend this to any Virtua Cop fan. not quite as fun as Time Crisis, but good enough for me.

I am not going to go into a lot of things about the game. The graphics are really good for the Wii ( it was designed for the Wii's processing power unlike a lot of games)!!! Also, it is just plain fun!!! I really recomend this game. It is one of the best games I have ever played on the wii!!!It is really awesome with the Wii zapper.

Loads of fun for all ages!

This game gave me reason to purchase two Wii Zappers. The kids in the neighborhood love to play it even when they fail missions. We play in HD and Pro Logic II and the sound is great as well. Highly recommend this game for with the zapper.

Modern Virtua Cop

This game reminds me so much of the Virtua cop and Virtua squad games from back in the day, I used to love those games and play them over and over trying to beat my score. I like the fact that you can calibrate the wiimote to get it to work more accurately then other wii shooter games. I tried it with the wii zapper but found it easier with out it.

If you enjoyed the arcade version of Ghost Squad you will like this version even better! Many more sections to each level to explore! The Nyko Perfect Shot is a must for this game and any other gun game!

Great "Shooter" For The Wii

"Ghost Squad" is a very enjoyable shooting game! My son and I liked to play the arcade version together and the Wii game brings the same enjoyment into our living room. The missions are very fun and are certainly challenging enough. There are some hidden "easter eggs" in the game (the "Panda Suit" is a hoot, and there are many others).

Use the WiiRemote by itself is difficult to get accurate shots so my son likes to use Wii Zapper with Link's Crossbow Training and I prefer the Wii Perfect Shot Gun . Our accuracy was much improved using these guns!

Highly recommended!

I just wanted to put a note in here that this is an extremely fun game if you love to shoot.
This game is also excellent for people who do not like the nauseating experience from other shooting games that shake the screen too much as you move.
Even though the stages are replayed, they get harder and you get to unlock other paths not found in the arcade game ( I believe)
I had a blast with this game!

Wii needs MORE games like this!!!.... Sega should be commended for releasing this gem!!! Now, other companies can follow suit! Everything is solid, including visuals, gameplay, wiimote controls.... and FUN!!!
