This is a good game if you are REALLY REALLY into dogs. I'm not. I like dogs but not so much. After 1-2 weeks I got tried of it. You get to do things with the dog but for me, I just didn't like it. If you are going to buy this for someone or for yourself make sure he/she or you are really into dogs.
very fun yet very boring

Why buy 3 cartridges when the PSP version will have all the breeds on 1 UMD DISC?

Hello people, save your money! WAIT FOR THE PSP PORT OF NINTENDOGS. Why buy 3 Nintendogs DS cartridges to get all the breeds when, from what I've read and heard, the PSP version of Nintendogs will have all breeds on one UMD disc?!? (that's the beauty of optical media, all 3 breeds can fit onto one UMD disc rather than having to use 3 SEPERATE cartridges, as is seen in the DS version of Nintendogs).
So my advice is wait for the PSP version of Nintendogs. You'll only have to buy one UMD disc rather than 3 seperate cartridges (as is seen in the DS iteration of the game)....thus you'll have spare money to boot.
Wait for the PSP port of the game....help the victims of Tsunami Katrina instead!

Hello, people! Wait for the PSP version of the game (which should be much better). You should use the $35, donate it to the Red Cross to help victims all the victims of Tsunami Katrina in New Orleans. And when the PSP port of Nintendogs comes out, you'll have a great game to boot.
Don't forget the victims of the great Tsunami!
Which is more important, a video game or the lives of the people affected by the great Tsunami in New Orleans?!?
Ok

dogs are what. I was just wondering because some people are saying they are the exact same thing but others say that they are different. I want answers from thoses you have played the game instead of thoses who have read reviews and dont even know!!
So if you could please answer this question that would be great because i want to know which one i want before buying it and it be bad! Oh dont pay any attention to my stars things because i havent played it at all so I am going to put mostly 1 star Oh will people stop just writing stuff about how much ya'll want this game and putting 5 stars when all ya'll know is that you want this game because i look at them everyday and see 5 stars then read it and all i see is I REALLY WANT THIS GAME its getting annoying THANK YOU!!

I am dying to play this game!!!!!! I used to own a copy of Dogz, which, no offense, sucked, and I was disappointed. But when I saw this game, I was psyched!!!!!! I couldn't decide which copy I wanted, untill I heard you can unlock ALL of the breeds (including others like dalmation and jack russel) in time buy getting owner points or finding items on walks. In dogz, all you could do was feed and play with your dog. The graphics weren't that good, and the dogs behaviors weren't realistic. But in this game, you can take your dog shopping, choose from tons of different breeds, feed and care for your dog, and even win money to buy more dog supplies and breeds. If you are the competitive or violent type, you will not like this game. It is a one player game that cannot be "defeated" as your dog will always need love and care . If I had this game, I would play it for hours on end! I am so excited I can't wait untill I have the money to buy a DS and this game!!! I also realize that some of you will be skeptical, saying I should not review something untill I have it, but I am sharing my information about the game, but may, however, be wrong in my opinion.

My son loves this game because you get to raise dogs and take care of them. He likes to take them on walks and there are several versions so you can pick the dog you like.
This game is awesome!

This game is wonderful. I would absolutely love to have a real dog, or two, or three (!) but work keeps me away so much that it would be bad for the dog. So, I play this simulation, which makes me want a real dog even more! Every morning I spend the bus commute to work feeding, watering, walking, and playing with, my dogs. And then when I come home, that's when I really get to play, teaching them tricks, throwing the frisbee, because then I get to talk to them without disturbing other people. They are so cute and have different personalities, too. Once, I put one of them in the dog hotel, and then tried to get the dog at home to go to sleep with the "Naptime" record. But instead of going to sleep as usual, she walked around restlessly, looking for her brother. She was so cute, I took him right back out of the hotel and brought him home. Right away, they laid down together and went to sleep.
I bought the Nintendo DS just so I could get this game, and it was SOOO worth it. It's worth it even if Nintendogs is the only game you buy!
To the review titled, "I'M SO P.O.ED WHEN CRAPPY GAMES GET 5 STARS", dated October 11, 2005:
Nice language, first of all. If you're so worried about the children, maybe you shouldn't teach them phrases like "Oh my f'ing god". Second, if you're going to boycott something, boycott the kid. The game does not influence the player to hate real dogs, as you and supposedly the mother said. The game teaches the player to treat animals well, and with love. If that kid is warped enough to not like a real dog, there's just something wrong with the kid. That kid probably would have said that if he was playing "Grand Theft Auto. Or Halo, or Final Fantasy, or the Warcraft Series, or Stronghold". Probably Tetris or Dr. Mario, too.
Who let the Nintendogs out?

This game has gotten many reviews, mainly because Amazon has accidentally put the reviews of different versions of Nintendogs on one page. In this case, you will see reviews of more than one version of Nintendogs, such as the chihuahua and labrador versions.
After playing the demo version, we really wanted to get the full version. When my little brother's birthday came, we got the dachshund version. We have already adopted a female beagle and named her "Cutie." We have taught her to sit, fed her, and taken her for a walk. We even got to go to the pet store to buy her new fetching toys and Nintendogs brand dog food.
Overall, 5 stars. Thanks to Nintendogs, the Nintendo DS became the top-selling handheld. I've heard rumors about the Playstation Portable version, but the Playstation Portable has only one screen and no magic pens, so it does not have the same features the Nintendo DS does.
