not for die-hard-gamers

Let me start off by saying first that this game is SLOW and METHODIC. You're gonna be playing for only a few minutes each day and gradually building up a relationship with your pooches. This isn't a game you can "win" or "master" within a time-frame. The more you play the more difficult it becomes.

The more attention you put to ONE pup, the more the other 2 forget things they've already learned. it's nearly impossible to keep all 3 pups 100% happy all the time. This is where the magic of the game begins. You can't be the best, but you can be a close second which is how life really is.

The game is fun in that you have to pet and train and talk to your dogs, but it can get a bit monotonous sometimes in the daily walks, the having to feed every 10 minutes, the need to keep them brushed and happy. But then again these are the things which make it so life-like. So in a weird way they actually HELP the game.

I think this is a good game for anyone to have, not only because it is cute as can be, but because it teaches alot of lessions in life and is a good way for children to learn about caring for an animal.

The only reason I gave it a 3 star is because of "bark mode." The idea behind BarkMode is that if you use it and are walking around on the streets and another person in bark mode walks past you, their breed of dog will be downloaded to your game and you can pick them up at the dog pound. While this concept works well in Japan where everyone is really tightly packed together in the big-cities... in the country and subburbs of America it's rather pointless. THe DS-Wireless feature is good up to 100 feet or so, and rarely do we Americans like to get within that amount of space to a total stranger. I want the other dogs and I'm gonna have to find someone manually to get them rather than walking with the DS in my pocket.

This game is awsome. My mom said I could write this review so I did and I speak the truth when I say this game is awsome! One review says this game is not a good substute for a real dog and I think the only difference is that the tricks are easy to teach your dog! What if you have a real dog but just want nintendogs for fun anyways?I have a real dog and my friend has 4 real dogs but we love nintendogs!!!There are room themes like asian, ranch house, desighner condo, and ect. that you can buy for your house by using money you get from contests and you can use the money for pet supplies, room themes, and other dogs.1 important rule..NINTENDOGS IS AWSOME AND GET IT IF YOU LOVE DOGS CAUSE IT'S ALMOST EXACTLY LIKE HAVING A REAL DOG!!!

I really like this game. My grandchildren are having a good time training the dogs and I don't have to clean anything up like a real dog. They learn how to feed, walk, train and play with the dog to use in real life with a real dog.

Repetitive

It was an average game, but it got boring after a while. I got one for me and one for my sister's birthday. My sister loved it! For a while anyway. I liked it, then I got bored with it. It got repetitive even though there is 3 types of contests, a whole neighborhood to walk around in, a store, a gym, and a playroom for your dog. The mic is too sensitive and it took 10 minutes to name my dog without it getting confused. The stores never get anything new. The walks seem to drag on and drag on. I seriously DONT recommend this for anyone over 8. Overall, it was a little disapointing.
Ciao

INNOVATION DOES NOT EQUAL FUN

They put so much work into making the dogs real they forgot to make the game fun. Lets see, you rub his head, throw it a toy, walk it and teach it up to 14 tricks. Wow. Barn-burning excitement. Mix in a dog show or two where you basically repeat all that stuff. Its different, its unique, its pretty impressive...but its not fun. Yeah, its an incredible advancement in artificial intelligence to program the dogs to act like the real things, but most of us have real pets anyways. Its a novelty game just like all of Nintendo's games. You open it, say "thats a neat idea" then trade it in a week later. Dont get me wrong, I dont hate it...its just boring. Its not a game, its an experience. A dull experience.

PUPPIES IN A VIDIO GAME?

Imagine a world were puppies never die and they just look so darn cute you just want to pet and love them for all eternity until you get bard and just don't care any more. This game is okay but if you play it for awhile and have finally trained your dog to be in competitions. You will soon realize that you can only enter each dog in either disc competitions, agility trials, or obedience competitions 3 times a day for each dog you have trained. Something else I did not like about this game was that it isn't the same as a real dog you would love. But it's just not the same as a cute adorable loving furry puppy instead it is just a computer. Something else that really bothers me in this game is that you can only earn money by competing in the different trials which can get annoying and boring as well as one of the announcers that gets so annoying that you will soon hear your self cursing him out and you just want to never compete in trials ever again. But you cant because that is the only way you can earn a lot of money fast well that and selling all the supplies you don't need and who wants to give up that nice new flowery collar?
There are a lot of bad things to this game as well as some good things like taking them for walks, and finding new toys and accessories to dress them up in or play with. If you are lucky you might just find remote control cars or maybe even a helicopter to fly around and they will chase it around and bark and act scared. My favorite thing to do to the dogs are to dress them up in ridiculous hats like a sombrero or maybe even a rainbow wig that I think looks the most ridiculous on small dogs!
There are a lot of things for you to do to take care of your dogs with buying different brushes and shampoos so they will look sparkly clean. You can even get a better score in obedience trials if they look nice. Maybe something pretty like a fancy ribbon or some funky glasses to give them an extra weird look will help them be more popular in the neighborhood.
The graphics in this game are vary convincing. It made me believe that some of the ugly dogs in real life actually were kind of cute. The sound was pretty good considering it was on a record player. I found record a song from the nutcracker. It also is fun to watch them dance and sing along with the songs and at the end they even did a back flip!
I would definitely give this game 3 out of 5.

Fun........for about a month.

I've had this game for 6 weeks and liked it very much. Graphics are good and it can be addictive. However, after about a month it can become somewhat boring. You MUST care for your pet on a daily basis which is fine at first, but it has become monotonous at this point. I had the impression it would be a game I'd enjoy for a longer period of time. Now I just feel rather obligated to care for the dogs. I no longer enjoy doing so.

Fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!
