The play control rocks, the cars rock, the courses are just the right amount of challenging. If you're into racing games, you need to buy this one. It simply has the highest quality of fun of any I've played for the N64.

Man, this game looked cool with the viper on the cover but don't be fooled the graphics are incredibly simplistic, physics are almost laughable and the cars are goofy looking, just barely ressembling their real-life counterparts. I would recomend Rush, World Driver, and Crusin USA way before this game. It looked like it was made in a week.

This game has it all, great graphics, great music (well great music if you like heavy rock), and most importantly of all, great gameplay.
Top Gear Overdrive is a blast to play, simply for the feeling of driving around detailed tracks at the rate of knots.
Of course, not everyone shares my point of view, I've come across several reviews which curse the car handling, and the untimely explosions, where the car bursts into flames if a corner is taken to fast or whatnot.
However, they are over reacting, as although the car handling is a little loose on some cars, it isn't that big a deal. Anyone who plays the game for more than five minutes will be more than used to the controls and will be executing powerslides and nitro boots like there's no tomorrow.
Ultimately the games only failing point are that's it's all to short lived. I completed the game within a week. However, this game is so much fun that I found myself returning time and time again. Top Gear Overdrive is an excellent game and equal to just about any arcade style racing game on the Playstation, with the possible exception of Ridge Racer Type 4. If you own an N64, and if its arcade style racing game you are after, then buy this, you wont regret it.

hey. i think this is a good game cuz i really liked it. if u are into cars and racing then u should buy this game cuz u can get a really good car, u could put nitro into it, put better acceleration into it to. this is a good game. i rented it once from blockbuster and i enjoyed it.
