Problems with Notre Dame Cathedral

I had problems with this game. I chose the beginners' level and put together most of the puzzle only to find some sections missing. I sent Wrebbit an email and got a reply that maybe the missing pieces were under a window on the table. I checked and replied that the pieces were not on the table. It has been two weeks and I have not heard more from Wrebbit.

Also, I found the use of the display to be very poor. I have an XGA screen, which I think is now pretty standard. The program used only a VGA (640 X 480) window in the middle of the screen. To compensate for the lack of screen real estate they have a complicated system of procedures to scroll the small window over the tabletop. It would be much better if they used all of the real estate on the XGA screen and simplified the complicated procedures.

This is the third 3D puzzle I have purchased, only one, Notre Dame Cathedral gave me no problems. All others had errors, crashes(blue screen). Tech support tried but had no answers.I have new computer and all the stuff to run games. So I will never again buy 3D puzzles. I don't know what's wrong,it's a great idea. Notre Dame was fun,but the other two! Maureen Ferrugia unhappy with 3D

Not worth the effort

I really enjoyed this game until I completed the first level and could not continue. I kept receiving an error message and the game would shut down. I ended up wasting money on a game that I can no longer play. I would like to say that if there is a chance of this happening to anyone else I would advice them not to purchase this game. Finishing the first level isn't worth the price of the game.

Beware of compatibility problems

Warning: This game was fun until it produced the dreaded "This program has performed an illegal operation..." and aborted. Puzz3D's support technician had no answers. Other 3D games run fine, only this one is unplayable. (My OS is Win98).

Game Discontinued

Despite previous reviews stating that there was a problem with the program requiring a patch, I purchased the program to play with my kids. At the easiest level it took us some time to get the hang of the game but eventually we completed building the mansion. Once we tried to enter the mansion however, the program closed citing "illegal operation". I attempted to get the patch from Wrebbit only to find that it has been purchased by Hasbro, and Hasbro will provide no support as the game is discontinued. Hasbro will provide Wrebbit's phone number in Canada, but when contacted by telephone, Wrebbit customer service sends customers to a website that no longer exists (and they know it), claiming there are no other options. A major disappointment all around.

I don't know what I expected when I purchased this game. I am new to computer games, The Sims being the first one I ever purchased. This line of games is for true jigsaw puzzle lovers only!It took me forever to get through the "easy" level and when I entered the mansion at last, I was privy to very few of the areas in trying to solve the mystery. In order to have more access inside you must put the mansion puzzle together four or five times with each level having exceedingly smaller pieces. I've not been back to start that yet and it my be the dead of winter before I do. If you love puzzles this is your game -- if like me, you're not very patient, skip it!

woe if you have a problem.

I like the visuals for this game and the premise. But the interface is awkward and the technical prowess of the designers is minimal -- they can't even change the video mode for the required 640x480 screen size...

But my largest problem is with their technical support. My game continually crashes in the "exploration phase" of the game and all the pointers sent me to the truly heinous DYAD.com site. So although the game is/would be cool if it worked, I'm not sure it's worth the hassle.

Addictive!

Working a computerized puzzle was surprisingly realistic for me. It satisfied that puzzle-solving urge without disrupting my house for a week! I was disappointed in the tray sorting system. I found it rather touchy. My trays keep getting either dumped or combined. I was pleasantly surprised by the exploration phase of the game. It was much more detailed than I expected. There are additional puzzles once you're inside as well as the murder mystery. You do actually feel like you're inside when you look out the windows you just put together! The graphics are very good. I'm anxious to start working the other puzzles.

I don't own this, but my sister does and when I was visiting her in GA I got to play it. I am really into the puzzle thing and I loved this game. Not only does it give you the puzzle to build but it gives you clues to find so it seems like more then one game to play. The bonus is all the historical facts you learn on your way thru. I have always loved history so this was one of the best games I have played on the PC. I can't wait to buy Bravarian Castle!!

Fun, yet frustrating

I just finished the puzzle, and the exploration inside Notre Dame. My biggest suggestion is to SAVE often! It may have just been my Win95 computer but on two different occaisions, I lost all my work when the program caused an error and had to shut itself down. I would also suggest that you do the master level before going inside the cathedral with the key. If not, any of the puzzles you solve will not be solved on the next level. To save yourself the heartache of having to redo everything, wait until you are a master builder. Other than that, have fun! :)
