I don't know what I expected when I purchased this game. I am new to computer games, The Sims being the first one I ever purchased. This line of games is for true jigsaw puzzle lovers only!It took me forever to get through the "easy" level and when I entered the mansion at last, I was privy to very few of the areas in trying to solve the mystery. In order to have more access inside you must put the mansion puzzle together four or five times with each level having exceedingly smaller pieces. I've not been back to start that yet and it my be the dead of winter before I do. If you love puzzles this is your game -- if like me, you're not very patient, skip it!

This is the third 3D puzzle I have purchased, only one, Notre Dame Cathedral gave me no problems. All others had errors, crashes(blue screen). Tech support tried but had no answers.I have new computer and all the stuff to run games. So I will never again buy 3D puzzles. I don't know what's wrong,it's a great idea. Notre Dame was fun,but the other two! Maureen Ferrugia unhappy with 3D

I bought this puzzle for my husband`s birthday who is a puzzle fanatic. Loved it. First you don`t have to start with the first level, and I to did receive the error message. I send an e-mail to Wrebbit support and they did provide me with a solution. The cause is a compatibility problem with Quick Time 4.1. They did provide us with a patch that corrected the problem and my husband was able to finish the puzzle and solve the mystery. If you do require this patch, please e-mail puzz3d@support.wrebbit.com and explain the problem and they will e-mail you a web site from where you are able to download the update to the game. Hope this info will be helpful to you puzzle lovers.

I've enjoyed the previous three CD-ROM 3-D puzzles that Wrebbit has produced, and this one has all the things I liked: the jigsaw puzzle to assemble on screen, then touring the constructed building's rooms (in this case, train compartments), then solving the mysteries and brain teasers provided. On this fourth product, Wrebbit has changed the look of the on-screen buttons and controls to be more streamlined. But so far, having just completed the "easy" level, I am a bit disconcerted by this new disc's technical glitches (as compared with the older discs): I keep getting glimpses of levels I am not supposed to have access to yet and the cursor that is provided to maneuver me inside the compartments does not have the flexibility or speed control of the previous discs. I would not suggest this particular puzzle over the Bavarian Castle or the Victorian Cottage, either of which seems to play better than this one.

I really love putting puzzles together but I never have enough work space. The Puzz 3D for the PC is a great idea and lots of fun. I really enjoyed working on this Cathedral and learning the history behind it; things I never knew. If Teachers could only make learning history in the classroom this fun and exciting. I look forward to owning ALL the puzzles for the PC and hope they will create more puzzles soon.

If you enjoy jigsaw puzzles, you will love this software. Fun, educational and a great challenge to find all the clues and stuff inside once the puzzle is complete. I've also completed the Neuschwanstein Castle, and have yet to begin the Victorian Mansion and Orient Express. The best part is, no lost pieces - great when you have 8 cats like I do. I can't recommend this software enough for the puzzle lover. Just get it!!
Highly recommended challenge, but frustrating

The idea here is to give the user a virtual jigsaw puzzle building experience. The puzzle, when completed, is a three-dimensional reconstruction of the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris.
In the beginning, the user chooses a difficulty level, which determines how many pieces the puzzle is broken into, as well as how the pieces are laid out on a semi-circular virtual table. Using the cursor and mouse, the user brings the pieces together, sorts them in areas of the table, and gradually constructs the cathedral. Visual clues are available, as well as views of the completed puzzle, from any angle.
The level of difficulty chosen has another effect, in the type of payoff at the end. When the puzzle is completed, the user gets a tour of the cathedral, including historical trivia, on virtual placques, and ghosts, surprises, and a guide. However, the higher the level of difficulty chosen, the more access the user gets in the completed cathedral. More difficulty = more rooms, more secrets, more trivia.
Oh, and by the way, the graphics are truly great here including clarity, color, and resolution, and the sound effects are pretty good, too.
Got hooked!

I started this puzzle a bit skeptical but eventually was truly addicted. I was a bit disappointed with the zoom options because it seemed like the pieces were either too small, or too big and I couldn't see enough of them. I eventually did all four levels and then moved on to the investigation phase. I had some trouble here solving the mystery and there was a misprint in the booklet that gave me much grief, but I finally got it. I plan on immediately getting the Bavarian Castle and Notre Dame! I'm hooked!
Beware of compatibility problems

Warning: This game was fun until it produced the dreaded "This program has performed an illegal operation..." and aborted. Puzz3D's support technician had no answers. Other 3D games run fine, only this one is unplayable. (My OS is Win98).

This puzzle was challenging in a different way as the assembled sections were not all flat. This made you think differently while matching puzzle pieces. As far as solving the mystery, I'm still working on this one. Highly recomend all Puzz 3-D if you're a puzzle lover.
