GameBoy Advanced is the best thing sice pizza

Nintendo GBA is a modern Marvel; it not only plays the latest games but also all older compatible GameBoy ones! The GBA games have vastly improved since the last generation of GameBoy, both in speed, game memory and graphics - it truly makes this machine a portable entertainment system for all ages and not just younger kids as was the case with GameBoy. Some people like to compare the machine to an older SNES, but I would rather compare the machine to above that of a PlayStation - we have only just seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to games on this machine. When we compare and add up the entire year worth of trips to the cinema, then this is truly low cost entertainment.

This is a very good system. I did not buy it here, but that is beside the point. I have F-Zero and the color indigo GBA. F-Zero is a game that is not an option. It is a must have for anyone new to the GBA. It is a game where now there is a Grand Prix like mode and training mode. You can also race others using just one cartridge and the link cable. This is a game that I highly recomend. Now the actual GBA is real nice. It is a larger screen than the past Game Boy's and has better sound. The new cartridges are easier to carry around because they are smaller. This is a great package since it comes with F-Zero, the GBA and, the rechargable battery pack and more. This is a very good deal. Buy it, you wont regret it.

Game boy advance is the best gaming system I have ever played in my entire life! The graphics and sound are awsome. The only game that didn't use the graphics to it's full potential was Super Mario.

This is a nice system, but it does have one problem. You simply cannot see the game because the screen is so dark, and I'm finding it somewhat hard to play the games without being able to see what I'm doing. Of course, you can always use the wormlight --- the little lightbulb shows up very clearly in the "non-glare" screen!

I bought a NeoGeo Pocket Color when those came out, and was disappointed when SNK pulled that off the market. It was a good system; it brought some balance to the handheld market and I feel they went down without putting up a fight, but I'm sure that without them, Nintendo would have continued to drag their feet, and wait even longer to release the GBA, being as they enjoy a de facto monopoly. But enough of that, let's go through the pros and cons of this bundle:

PowerPak Ex: This thing is huge, almost ridiculously so. It sticks out at the bottom. Fortunately, it doesn't get in the way of playing. Plus you won't ever have to worry about batteries.

Worm Light: Pretty decent, it does its job well, and works off the GBA's power source (I didn't know that).

Shoulder holster and case: The holster is ... I would have preferred a hip-pack (which says a lot for my fashion sense). The case will only barely fit the console, and a few games, and definitely nothing more. It will not fit the PowerPak under any circumstances. That's annoying, even silly, considering that they ship together.

Indigo: Not a bad color; I'm not unhappy.

F-Zero Advance: A satifactory game, nice graphics, good play, but not the mind-blowing 32-bit that I had expected. Not at all. You can't even save your game (I mean, come ON). I saw equal and better on the 16-bit NeoGeo. Still, it's a handheld, not a PS, and first-wave games are never the greatest anyway. Hardware and software that fully exploit the capabilities of this machine will definitely come along soon enough - accessories and games that are to the GBA as the Rumble Pak and 007 Goldeneye were to the Nintendo 64 (and I'd like to see what the GBA and the GameCube can do together).

My review may sound a little lukewarm, though I don't mean it to be. If you want one of these now, I'd say go for it. I imagine the price would only go down by another ... in the near future, probably not this year, so that is not a factor as it is with the PS2. The bundle is pretty good value overall, and the fact is, Nintendo is the only game in town handheldwise (I don't know how, or why, but it is). The GBA's ability to play all previous GB/GBC games is also a major credit to the system, and to Nintendo's common sense. Those factors alone will keep this machine and the GB franchise (is that the right word?) around for another ten glorious years, so longevity, millions of other GB-owners to play with (as well as 500,000 GBA owners), and a huge game library, past and future, are all on your side. So visit the attic and have a look around for those old GB cartridges!

Two Problems...

Let's start off with the pros:

-Comes with FZero which is a great game -Comes with a Wormlight -Comes with very cool holster

Now the cons:

-GBA not backlit (but that's okay for me since I play outside) -The colour

You see people I'm not dissing the GBA it's just the colour, it seems kind of blad (please note I'm reviewing this pack only)but that dosen't bother me since i got the GlaCIER one.

So get the the Glacier pack instead.

Decent package, but has a few flaws.

Nice package, but I do have a couple of complaints. The case is nice if you're traveling w/ just one game and your GBA, but if you want to take the worm light or battery pack, be prepared for an ultra-tight fit. Also, while the extended gameplay is pretty cool, I find that the battery pack is far too big and awkward to be comfortable. I know that this was necessary to offer such a long runtime, but it makes gameplay a little more difficult and introduces storage & transport issues.

All-in-all, however, I am glad that I ordered this package and I know that I'll get my money's worth out of it.

Not a bad system, but could've chosen better accessories.

The GBA system is great, FZero is awesome, and the inclusion of a wormlight is quite nice.

However, there are a couple of problems with the accessories.

#1: The case is far too small to be useful. It carries the Game Boy Advance well enough, but good luck trying to fit the light or any games in there easily and forget about even trying to get the battery pack in there. Also it looks pretty goofy carrying it with it's included shoulder strap.

#2: Although the extended runtime is nice, the battery pack definitely has its shortcomings. It adds quite a bit of bulk and weight to the Game Boy Advance. This wouldn't be so bad except that its size interferes with my hand placement on the G.B.A. It also raises issues with transporting and storing the Game Boy Advance since the only cases that I can find big enough to hold the two are some of the medium-sized camera cases. This somewhat defeats the purpose of a pocket sized system.

All in all, I'm glad that I purchased the Game Boy Advance and FZero, and I enjoy having the light. However, If I had it to do all over again, I would have purchased these individually and chosen different accessories.
