This video game really brings back memories of when I first got into Pokemon. The only thing I don't like about this game is that you can't visit the Johto region or the Hoenn Region. The game starts pretty much like the old Red and Blue versions did... you'll go outside, try to go into the grass, when Professor Oak (remember him?) stops you and tells you to come to his laboratory, where you will get to choose your first Pokemon and battle your rival Gary (name sound famillar??) for those of you who haven't played the game before, I won't go into details with this one, you will need to find out for yourself. If you have played the old Red and Blue versions, you pretty much know the story so I won't bother you with details... all you pretty much need to know is that there are more missions to complete than there were in the regular Red and Blue versions, and the graphics are a lot better than before.

I haven't played any other pokemon games, but this one is awesome!!! my little brother started playing it and it looked interesting, so i commandeered it! I've beaten the elite four and am currently on the sevii islands. the only problem is remembering that i have to stop and do my homework... all in all, a REALLY awesome game!!

Pretty cool game which reminds me of the old Pokemon Red version. Nice if you want to obtain Pokemons such as Mewtwo and the 1st generation starter Pokemon. A must whether you played the first versions or not.

I bought it used which came from BUY IT NOW GAMES for $11.50. The cheapest I found in stores was $30. A free Pokemon card was included with the game which made all the difference in the world to a 6 year old boy receiving the gift.

My other grandson loves to spend some time playing games on his GBA. So, he is always excited when he gets a new one. He is always adding more cartridges to his collection ever so often. He even likes to buy them for himself when he goes shopping with his mom or me. But he gets so frustrated when he does not win any battle or games.

We bought this last Christmas for our 10 year old. He's a big Pokemon fan and now has all four of the GBA Pokemon games he'd wanted. He has a bunch of other GBA games but always chooses one of these Pokemon ones. He also said he likes to connect with friends and they can share/trade Pokemon that way with these games.

I wasn't suprised to be a perfect revision of the classic game that we know had horrible colors, horrible sound bytes, and horrible x99 MasterBall Missingno trick (well that wasn't all that bad).
But those horrible things were the only things we had in that game back then and we loved it like that. But I like how Nintendo went with today's times and did the graphics, sound, sadly no missingno (or is there).
I love it. It's today's kids experience of what we experienced when we were kids. Perfect! 5 out of 5!

I remembered the first time I played pokemon. It was Fire Red, and I loved it. I mean who wouldn't. It was a pretty new concept, the main character goes around collecting cool monsters to train and fight in competition. I even remember crying after I had lost against the Elite Four for the first time. But that's all in the past. The new version of Fire Red is pretty much the same as its old counter part except that it's in color and has more added stuff to it. I also liked the way the game has a flash back diary of sorts about what you've done in the previous save. So if your a fan of old Pokemon, then this game is for you!
Disappointing...

This game sounded fun when I first heard about it. Once I started playing it, I knew that my money had not been spent well. Fire Red is too much like the old version Red. I would not recommend either game for Pokemon starters. [...]. The graphics are much better and you can get more Pokemon (such as Jirachi or Deoxys).
