one of the best pokemon games yet

This is a very fun game for people that have not played the original red version. But for the people that have it is still fun because of the additions of the different islands. Plus it comes with a wireless adapter so you can play games, chat, trade and battle wirelessly. Plus the graphics are much better than the original versions except for ruby and sapphire. this is definitly the best pokemon game they've created. My favorite part about the game is the inproved graphics and the adition of the islands and the wireless adapter. The reason I like these parts is because I have played the original red version and compared to this game it is supreme. I would recommend this game to older people as well as younger people becaus it is fun and also challenging for the mind. Because you have to cordinate you team and solve pulles, like the one in victory road when you have to push a certain block into just the right place. In all I would recommend this game to everyone.

I was obsessed with the game, "Pokemon Crystal" . I was anxously awaiting for pokemon to make a GBA game like it, so i could use it on my DS. On came the Ruby and Sapphire versions, which, no offense, i dont like. So then, i heard of this game. i checked it out online and found that it was a lot like the original Crystal game!

I was disappointed when i first found out that there is no Jhoto town. But, i recently discovered that you CAN obtain all Jhoto pokemon, using the larger pokedex you get later in the game.
OOps! Just now, i accidentaly evolved my Pikachu too early! Oh well. I also evolved my Gloom and my growlithe :/ not such a mistake, i just didnt know to evolve it later! they are only level 25. It will be harder to train them. But hey, i like a challenge.

All in all, this is a fine game! Buy it! No regrets shall come of you!

This is a wonderful game, where you catch and train pokemon and become the best trainer in the world. It is very fun!! Hook up with a Wireless adapter and you can battle, trade, play games, and more with your friends!

first game (a great one)

This was my first Pokemon game ever. I love it. Currently I have five badges (I earned the SOULBADGE today.) And, I am in Fucshia City. I am about to try the safari zone.

LT Surge was just too easy! The hardest thing about him was that you had to turn on the switches under the trash cans.

Some things you will probably like about this game are as follows: defeating Team Rocket is kinda cool. As far as I know from my limited Pokemon game experience this is the most detailed Team Rocket destruction game yet. There are also twists when you enter each gym to make it difficult to get to the gym leader. This was probably in previous games, but it is still cool for me.

There are some problems with this game. They are the music - it's kinda annoying when you're on your bike. Also, while in the field the music is classic. The gym leaders do not give you the HM that you would get when you defeated that leader - for example, Koga does not give you surf.

I will finish my review with some reccomendations: Drop the Pokemon that use evolution stones to evolve at day care centers, that way they are a higher level when you use the stone. Finally, train your Pokemon as equally as possible.

Its a Pokemon game so you know what to expect...lots of fun. Can't wait to see the new versions coming out in April for DS!!!

pokemon fire red is the best game ever the original game is brought back with amazing graphics and more to the storyline if you think diamond and pearl are good you should get this game

p.s. i know my name has green day in it somewhere but i hate green day and i think they suck this name was written a long time ago before i realized how much they sold out

This game is equally fun as Pokemon Red and Blue. It has the same exact stuff in it. I don't get the point in doing a remake though. Maybe I am just dissing because I am stuck. Way better though but I got through the origanl versions better.

Disappointing...

This game sounded fun when I first heard about it. Once I started playing it, I knew that my money had not been spent well. Fire Red is too much like the old version Red. I would not recommend either game for Pokemon starters. [...]. The graphics are much better and you can get more Pokemon (such as Jirachi or Deoxys).

get blastoise, and don't choose the other two, i did and now i can't beat them! if your stuck in the beganing, attempt to walk in the forest and see what happens, then pro.Oak will take you to his lab where you and your rival Gary will battle wt. you new pokemon. get as many pokemon as you can as as soon as you can get TONS of "super potions" at the begening get everything in the shop 2 times. battle misty only warturle will win against her, all the pokemon will get your boulder badge! o and save befor you see a reare pokemon(rare ones appere) and before battle, and after. you never know what could happen, puch start to c your options, gtg,Molly

Remake of the classic

I thought that it was really cool that nintendo made a remake of pokemon red and blue/green for those who had missed out on the early games. This game brings back the classic in better graphics for all to enjoy, aswell as exras like these islands with 2nd series pokemon after you beat the game and more. If only they made a remake of pokemon gold and silver...
