I was expecting a lot more from the GameCube version of THPS 3. It looks the same as PS2, but the frame rate is worse. And in split screen mode, the frame rate is horrible. The levels are really small, although this was a problem with the PS2 version too. It feels like that kept them small so they could do a PS version of the game and use the same levels.
ps2 is waaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy better

I liked all Tony Hawk games. This is the best one (of course) The only problem is that it gets boring after playing it. I would suggest this for Playstaion instead of gamecube. Other then that there are alot of charactors, and it's a cool game.
Best THPS game yet!

i bought this game a few days ago and im already on the last level its the best tony hawks pro skater game yet. it has incredible graphics, more options like editing tricks while your playing a level and new tricks. it also has "stat points" you can find in the level to im prove your stats. there are a lot of new and more fun then the previous versions' ways to get tapes like stopping a police chase and soaking a guy in a pool of water, though it still has the high, pro and sick scores, the hidden tape and the collect s-k-a-t-e. it keps the concept of the previous THPS games while taking it to the next level of entertainment.
this is definatly worth buying especially if you have a gamecube, and if you dont have a gamecube than here's your reason to buy one.
Could be better

This game is indeed fun... but when I was having difficulty completing the goals because of the games immense slowdown on some levels...
If they port something over to a nexgen console, could they at least make it smooth? This gets incredibly slow, don't even try playing 2-player on it.. We quicky found out it goes TWICE as slow and its just a huge pain ...
slow.. slow... and slower

This game is great except for one thing.. the huge slowdown...
Unlocking new levels was really fun up until the new level had so much slowdown that I couldn't get the hard-to-get goals.. sorry but when the frames per second goes from 60 down to 10, I mess up and can't get anything...
Don't get ported games, especially this one

Buy this game. Just do it, just buy this game.
So you never managed to do an ollie on a board in high school; so you thought all the long haired guys in flannels on their home-made boards were dorks. So friggin what. Try this game. You will simply love it.
I got this game about a month after plugging in my GameCube and have played this game every day since(we are talking ten months). Other games have come and gone but none have come close to the replay value of Tony Hawk. Each new skater presents a different challnege, and there are actually rewards for winning the game with different skaters. This keeps it fun.
And if you get bored, well bloody hell, just build yourself your own skate park already and quit complaining!
Please ... buy this game!
Awesome

I really like this game because not only can you skate as basically all of the good skaters out there you can create tons of things like a personalized skater, and skateparks.
If you like to skateboard even in the slightest or you just like to pull some awesome sick dog tricks than this game is perfest for you. The one and only thing I hate about this game is that the loading time is incredibly slow and can be quite annoying at times. Of your buying this as a present you might want TO MAKE SURE THEY LIKE SKATEBOARDING because if they don't then your buying them the wrong present.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 is one out of the two best games!

Let me start out that this game is perfect! In every way imaginable! I highly recomend this game to anyone that likes video games even a tiny bit!
Graphics, 10/10 The graphics are amazing for a game released in 2001! Not one graphics problems A..N..Y..W..H..E..R..E..!
Sound, 10/10 Perfect, just Perfect!
Gameplay/ 10/10 I have never experienced a better game than this! Not one problem exists in the gameplay, or anything else for that matter!
Overall, 10/10 I have never played a better game! The only game that can compare to this is Tony Hawk's Underground 2 on the Cube not one glitch exists in this game anywhere, and thats saying something! And so if you do not own this game now on the Gamecube than stop reading this review THIS INSTANT! Turn of your computer and go by this at your nearest used game store and by it IMEDIETLY!
