Tournament Chess 2 has beautiful graphics form a cozy little apt. to the local chess club and finally to the international level on stage with an audience! And believe me the final level is as tough as the real world! Of special note is the versatile treebeard engine which realizes the opponent has a game too! AND DORS IT EVER! it remembers your moves and games and is ready too give you a surprise next time! And before I leave you all I think a word about Tournament chess 1. as ive thought for some time I just read from another reviewer! It is the Tal System named after the great Soviet Superstar Mikal Tal! This program is nearly extinct so trust me grab both Tourn1 and tourn.2== youll be glad, delighted and maybe skipping a day or two of work school! Oh and by theway Tourn 2 has ab awesome coaching system! if youd like the coach will move your piece baxk slide out the move he reccomends slide that move back slide your original move back!!!! then youre the BOSS! take his reccomendation or keep your move!ABSOLUTELY THE MOST ENJOYABLE TUTORING ive ever seen on any program! Well good luck all! Just celebrated my 50th Anniversy of tourbament chess playing after a week in Moscow in the expert division! Won 10 drew 7 and wellll I seem to have forgotten how many I lost! (I need the coach!)

Game plays well enough but has major flaws - black castles through check and in some modes the computer crashes. It requires a minimum of nine menu selections just to begin playing the first game and seven to play the next game. Graphics are OK but lost a lot of games because black pieces are the same color as the table background and there is little discernable difference between a bishop and a pawn. Don't turn off the lights (a feature of the program) because the screen will be black and unless you can find the switch again you're in real trouble. Restarting displays the same black screen. In all fairness there are lots of various features and although it plays well enough it is incredibly irritating to click through nine menus every time it's used.
