Truly Entertaining and Highly Detailed

Exploring the interconnections between medieval professions such as potters, millers, farmers, bakers and many more, this game provides insight into their dependencies. For example, the miller must have the wheat your farmer grows to make flour and your baker must have the flour to make his bread, and of course your people need the bread to sustain themselves.

Less emphasis is placed on warfare and more on in-depth involvement with your villagers professions make this game a great educational tool for children 10 and up. Although, adults with a good deal of time on their hands will find this an enjoyable game. This game is for those who love to micro manage every aspect of their RTS society, not those who love endless battle.

Graphics found within this game are charming and comparable to the Game Cube game Harvest Moon, A Wonderful Life. Sound effects are entertaining, such as belches and unintelligible Nordic babble. However, the game lacks background music, so you will have to provide your own.

A Little Disappointing...

This game really adds nothing new to the RTS genre, and it is inferior in many ways to other RTS games.

Graphics - These are about average compared to other RTS games. You do have the ability to zoom in.

Sound - There is no music soundtrack. What few sound effects exist in the game are incredibily annoying and consist of: Vikings burping, Vikings farting, Vikings laughing hysterically for no reason, Vikings mumbling to themselves, and animals making exagerrated screeches. It probably would have been better to have no sound effects than those annoying sound effects.

Plot - There's no character development, so it's impossible to get attached to the heroes you're supposed to be guiding to glory . The villain is stereotypical and uninspired.

Gameplay - I wish there were rally points and building queues like in Warcraft 3. Pathfinding could use some work, as your Vikings will get lost and do nothing unless you saturate the map with signposts, which is a tedious task. There are only four types of combat units you can build - this limits strategy. On the up side, there are lots of buildings to build, and the tech tree is fairly large.
