Good Package But You Don't Need Them All

The Chess Advantage 2 is a package of 5 different chess application with Chessmaster 6000 being probably the most popular (and best). I only bought it since the Chessmasters 6000 to 8000 were unavailable and the price of the package was OK. The great thing about the Chessmaster (or 3 out of 5of the other games in the package) is that they can catch the interest of any level of player, from the absolute beginner to the expert. The software has exclent tutorial (with lousy interface and many mistakes in the positions) which really allow you to develop your chess game to the next level and stop you from hitting the boring experience of being able to beat the computer on some level but always loosing on the next one without necessarily being able to understand why. I loved it. Read the reviews of the Chestmaster series and if they are available at a better deal go for them. But if they are not - the price for this package is right and it's a great purchase whether you are serious chess player or just bored.

Go with the original

I previously owned chess advantage I and I improved my chess skills greatly. Somehow I lost the cd and unfortuatly when I went to purchase it again all they had was the second one. I would have to say the second one is horrible compared to the original one. Also, the price of the first is much better I give chess advantage I 5 stars

I FINALLY learned how to play chess!! Experts love it too.

As a beginner, I was very surprised to find the tutorial and variety of game levels so helpful. I learned a few things my chess-playing family did not even know! This group of games has made chess so much less intimidating...and fun!! As the learner gradually improves, skill levels, and even board design become part of the enjoyment. There are multitudes of customizable 2D and 3D designs available for the player. Expert level players will also find challenges in this set. We are very pleased with this product, and have just purchased one as a gift.
