Challenges your brain, but not very fun to play

This game started out very compelling, but after a while the puzzles got very boring and repetitive. When my wife asked me if I was having fun, I had to answer, "no, not really." The graphics are beautiful of course, but the gameplay feels more like work than play. I prefer a game that lets me have fun at the same time I challenge my mind, like Dweep (dweep.com).

Best game I've ever purchased. Have played it at least 6 times all the way through. It's a classic, play it again and again game. Love the art and colors and variety of puzzles. Excellent investment. Hoping that they will come out with a Pandora's Box II.

The best puzzle game ever

I'm not the type of person that likes the blood, guts and gore games, so when I discovered Pandora's Box it was a real surprise. The different games contained in this software are easy to learn, yet challenging. It starts out with easy versions of the puzzles and gradually the puzzles are more difficult to solve. There is no "time limit" to any of the puzzles and you don't get killed. The game itself will save at any point and you can pick up where you left off in the game.

The graphics are well done, and you learn a little bit about locations, artifacts, and ancient art along the way. Sometimes the narration between levels gets a little hokey, but it's not a distraction overall.

If you like pure puzzles, this is the one to get.

Pandora's Box needs to be more difficult

I enjoyed the game and the different varieties of puzzles but the difficulty levels did not increase appreciably as the game progresses. I had expected some of levels to be nearly impossible to complete but found almost all of the levels to be of easy to medium difficulty. It would have been nice if the more advanced levels were harder to complete.

Also, the way the games are constructed, there is no option for infinite variability. In other words, the pieces or puzzles are not reshuffled each time you reach the end. Each time you play it gets easier through the learning curve. This was a true disappointment.

I am still looking forward to add on modules, or additional images or pandoras box II

I really enjoy each type of puzzle. Then seeing what the picture is when the puzzle is complete. I also liked the fact that after the puzzles are complete they each tell something about the picture and that the pictures are something located in the city that you are in. I think that the instructions are very good and I would recommend this to my friends.

I finished 4 puzzles in one day and it gets more and more difficult. Parents will want it for their kids because it teaches them to pay attention in puzzles. It also teaches Geography and shows precious items from countries all around the world. It's like traveling without having to leave your seat or learn the language. All this knowledge for only a penny a year ($20.00)? It's not something you can afford to miss. (Double ditto, if you're a Tetris fan!)

I wish the puzzles could go on and on

It was fun getting through the game and then more fun getting all the puzzles completed (all 350). Now I'm ready for more. Where's Pandora II? This is for the visual puzzler - jigsaw like puzzles. Liked the rotoscope and putting the skin on art pieces (can't remember the name of that type of puzzle). I wasn't so fond of the shapes that float until you find where they should be placed in the picture. The travel connection was great. I've traveled quite alot recently and it is fun to revisit places you have seen. Thanks.

This game had great graphics, effects and sound for a puzzle game! The puzzles were pretty interesting, and fun to do, though in the higher stages, I felt that luck had a lot more to do with winning than thinking about it, but hey it's a game. A great way to pass the time!

Puzzling!

At first I was slightly annoyed that all the puzzles were purely graphic-- I was hoping that there would be brain teasers and logic games and such as well. But the puzzles are gorgeous, addictive, and incredibly calming. Whenever I get stressed out, I like to play this game. A few puzzle types got a little redundant, but overall it's a pretty addictive program.

Our kids are fighting for the computer to play this one

We finally found a computer game my daughter likes! It's way too old for her (she's 7), and we actually bought it for me. But the kids got so excited watching me play that they have dived in themselves. The game includes some built in "cheats" (if you solve some puzzles, you win a token that will give you hints or even solve a puzzle you are having trouble with) so it doesn't get too frustrating for the younger players. And the underlying stories are fascinating for them -- they want to find more trickster stories about Anansi and other folk tale characters in the program. I don't think my kids would have had the attention span to stick with it until they saw me spending time on it and solving the puzzles, however.
