Only played for a week, The Stress Test, the game is gorgeous, the colors are bright, the Art work is great. Ialways found something to do, Fish, cook, train my Pet, and of course
Kill Koblods, :) See only one thing that may be a problem, the Kiddies are going to love it. There was quite a bit of profane language and name calling on the Chat, of course there is an /ignore feature, which i made good use of. All in all, a Great MMO

well... no one yet seems to have actually reveiwed the games so here's my 2 cents.

since any information has been realeased i have been tracking it so I know most of the released information. you can pick from 8 races each has a different set a classes to choose from my favorite PALADIN! this is an mmorpg which means massively multiplayer online role playing game. You can adventure in massive worlds killing monsters participating in pvp(player versus player) finding legendary items creating items using tradeskills, and much more to find out more go to www.worldofwarcraft.com which is blizzards official site

...

I was reluctant to try this game after watching my husband get sucked into it for months. But after I agreed to try it, I can't stop playing it! It's a wonderful game with an ongoing storyline full of quests for you to do. There's lots of leveling up to do, exploring, playing in dungeons, interacting with other players; there's just soo much to do. You can also have professions which are ongoing like alchemy, fishing, cooking, herbalism, engineering, etc.. Plus throughout the year there are fun events to look forward to, such as Hallow's End around halloween, and Winter Veil around xmas time. You can meet all kinds of people from all over. I play with people from brazil and australia all the time. There's all kinds of things to do in WoW, and it never gets old. You can play alliance or horde based characters, and even play both if you want. The world is amazingly beautiful and the graphics are superb, especially if you have a really good video card. I think this game is great for either the first time gamer, or hard core player. Whether you play a couple hours a week, or hours a day, this game will work for you. I am a SAHM, so my game play is limited to a couple hours at night. But I always want to play. I think my favorite thing about world of warcraft is how you can constantly explore the world, and everything is new. I still haven't even seen half of the world yet, and I'm level 43! That's because you can't discover the entire world at first when you start out, it takes time to level up your character so you can explore higher areas with more powerful creatures. And with the burning crusades expansion coming out in january 2007, there will be even more. I would recommend this to anyone who likes RPGs and fantasy games. Even girls love this game! As a gamer girl, I'm really picky as to the kind of rpgs I play, and this one is my favorite so far. And I don't find it violent at all, so kids as young as 12 can play it. I've already made friends with alot of 12 and 13 year olds, and also with people as wise in age as 54. I would highly recommend this game to everyone to at least try once, and I bet you'll love it.

Read the good reviews with caution and the bad reviews with even more.

Warcraft is a great game. I've read some of the reviews here and those who pan it after playing it for a couple weeks are putting out a lot of misinformation, most likely due to their inexperience with the game (kinda like writing a bad review of a book when you've only read the introduction).

The game is great fun, graphics are outstanding. You can solo your way to the highest level or you can group with other players -- how you play is up to you, the game allows for any playing style. In my mind that's where it really shines. You can spend 30 minutes playing and accomplish quite a lot or you can spend hours really delving the depths of this well-written and well-balanced game.

For those people who pan WoW because it is addictive, I say, "Don't blame the game." The vast majority of subscribers play WoW with self-control. In all likelikhood, those who get addicted simply have an addictive personality to start with. Get help, feel better, but leave WoW to those of us who don't have a problem with addiction.

A casual gamer

After years of playing online games, I've finally found one that doesn't penalize the casual gamer. World of Warcraft is not a "time sink" like other online games. Also, it doesn't force you to group in order to accomplish most things. I can actually solo effectively (exp grinding or quests). Speaking of quests, I really like that you're actually told what needs to be done. You're not left trying to figure out some cryptic message. Lastly, it's great to be able to play for an hour or two and actually get something done.

Great online game

I have played alot of online games. Alot of them lack any motivation to play after you have reached the final levels of your character. I picked up World of Warcraft after hearing good reviews of this game and also because I am a Warcraft fan. I have throuroghly enjoyed this game. You get to make your own character out of several different possibilities, from a human paladin to a Troll rogue. The game is pretty much easy to play and the tutorials point you in the right direction to set you off on your own. There is alot more to do than simply hacking and slashing your way to higher levels. There are thousands of quests to do, dungeons to explore, and battles to participate in. For every single different type of player, you get to choose which type of game you want to play. Some servers are dedicated to players whom enjoy simply plaver versus player battles, catering more to their style of play, while others cater to the roleplayers, players whom want to actually be an Orc Warrior and behave as one while playing. All in all, this is a great game that has offered me tons of playing enjoyment.

Fun but not inovative and vastly time consuming

Interesting game at certain levels. At low levels this game can be very fun. lots of people and easier leveling make it very entertaining. And then it stops... there is a pretty large gap in people and grouping from the low levels about 30ish until your level 70. The game has become a solo grind until you get 70 because a majority of the game content is written for level 70 or is so outdated that its not useful or even possible to get people to explore the content on most occasions. Once a character reaches level 70 it is pretty much a requirement for a person to devote themselves to either pvp which then is mostly a solo act again unless you happen to find an active pvp guild which can be very challenging and on a whole is a very limited experience. pvp requires that you grind for the gear that make a character able to compete with other characters. very little of the pvp system relies on a players skill. The other major option is to engage in PVE which the player can experiance a wide range of content. this can be a very interesting way to explore wow though once again very quickly it becomes a limited venue do to the social demands of guilding and gear that are required to continue to explore the content. Months can be spent to gain a new item that is only marginally better than a previous one and one that could be replaced in days if a player was willing to devote their free time and suffer the whims of a higher ranked guild.

All for all.. if your a new player expect at least a couple of months of solo grinding to get your character to a point that you will be even socially eligible to be able to enjoy the majority of the content of the game. If your willing to do that the game can be very fun.

Addictive as all get out...

I agree 100% with all the previous reviews claiming the game is addictive as can be. I mean this in the best possible way, I just can't get enough of it... its just *that* fun to play. I have been away from gaming for several years, and I can safely say that I have not had this much enjoyment playing a game since the Diablo and Diablo II games (also from Blizzard ... hmm, coincidence?). You will find yourself staying up into the wee hours of the night just saying "one more level" or "if I could only get that one new spell it would make all the difference." Just so much fun and the online aspect just plain works. I can't recommend this one highly enough... just be prepared to be spending many a sleepless night on this one. Great stuff, thank you Blizzard!

AWESOME!!! I never thought I would like MMORPGs. I've always played games like Baldur's Gate II, Neverwinter Nights, and Diablo, but after the trial, I had to have more!!! I bet right now they have clinics for people with WOW (World of Warcraft) addiction.
