The best you can get

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 1 / 1

These games are amazing. It's so enjoyable getting to know these characters and solving the mysteries with them. The storylines are brilliant, full of factual history and what makes the games so enjoyable are the characters and the humor, especially Gabriel. These are old games, so don't go expecting 2006 type graphics.

You can run both games on Windows XP. Go to the following site to download the relevant patches. These games will work 100% with no freezing whatsoever:

The Best Gabriel Knight Mystery Yet

This game was well worth the wait. Solid graphics, challenging puzzles, good dialogue, and the likelihood of a Grace/Gabriel lovematch kept us entertained for several weekends. Hope Jane is working on the next game in this series!

I was not to crazy about the beast within game, it is not to exciting and I found it to be boring.

An impressive collection of a small number of games!

The Gabriel Knigth games, while they don't exactly represent Sierra's finest work, are among some of the most interesting and compelling adventure games released in the post text-parser world. Both games--Sins of the Father and The Beast Within--have some excellent moments, and offer more extensive and more interesting play time than you will find in many modern-day adventure games. If you aren't familiar with the series, or you want the games to keep, you should definitely consider this package.

Can anyone tell me why each new GK-game is thought to be so great? I honestly don't see it. Maybe it's my gaming history: after Zork (Nemesis + GI)and Riven, most games don't get five stars from me anymore. But really, Gabriel Knight! I'll focus on The Beast Within: a clumsy little figure trying to move around, having to take each turn at least three times before succeeding, talking like he's been on some very potent tranquillizers (remember? "It's meeee, Gabriel Kniiiight"), making stupid, boring comments with every step he takes. As for the storyline, I couldn't get the grip of his endlessly going back and forth between the few places available to him in each level. It wasn't my kind of logic. I'll give some pros as well: I liked his female counterpart a lot better than I did the man himself, and I thought the Munchen city map was very handy and original. Of course, these are all details and highly subjective. Nonetheless, I have given my warning. Time can be better spent.

Great value for some amazing classics

I just picked this limited edition box-set ..., and definantely am thankful I did. If you can find it somewhere, grab it.

GK games did for mystery games what 'Command and Conquer' did for real-time strategies. Add the supernatural element and you got two great classics! The soundtrack CD that comes packaged is worth the price alone, as Robert Holmes composes some of the most beautifully eerie music.

If you see this LE box-set, snatch it up!

Stinks, felt it was a waste of money

I bought this game because the guy in the store told me that it was cool, he said it was like Myst, that it was not. I did not like this game. Sound stinks, graphics stink. I cant belive sierra put this one out, usually their games rule, like Hlf-Life, and SWAT, I thought this was a dissappointment.

Just a quick word on the Gabriel Knight Series. Although its been a few years since i last played GK2, i can honestly say it has been my favorite adventure game of all time. I literally had dreams about it for a week. Great plot and great European setting. Also look into Siberia and Siberia II.
