im beat this whole entire game and unlock 1 thing but the cool part about spider man 3 you can go as the black spider man and the probelm wrong with game is that you cant go inside the daily bugle like on spider man 2 when ever you want to thats why spider man 2 is better than the 3 spider man.

I Haven't played the game officially yet, but my nine year old son keeps saying the game is great. He has all three spiderman games and he claim that this is the best one ever, One negative is that spider man three does not interact with citizens on the street as well as spiderman 2.

my spidy sense is tingleing, this game was garbage

For my son of 4-5 this was a chance to be spiderman. Then after the web slinging got boring for him, I play the game and am slowly getting sick of the long distances you have to travel to find the next objective. You seem to be going from one side of the map to the other all the time.

This will be one game that you will play but never finish. That's not to say it's boring. This game will have it's moments, but they are short lived at times.

Just because I found it boring after a time doesn't mean it's a bad game. I am at the demand of a small child with a short attention span. He would leave the room and I would play alone. Which defeats the whole reason for getting a Wii in the first place for me which is a father and son time.

Older kids will like this game.

This game is pretty good.It has fun fighting, and the missions are not half bad.But I would say that the graphics are not as good as i would expect. They are OK,but nothing as good as PS3,or 360.Overall you can do many missions. You can fight bad guys, take photos, and you can unlock alot of new moves. You get to go all around Manhattan doing missions. Also this game does not stick to the movies storyline. You get to go and do anything you want to do but some of the missions are related to the movie.Overall this is a good Game

Less of the same

After playing other Spiderman games I figured this one would be about the same with new missions. It isn't - in fact it is astoundingly bad.
There are some major issues:
First the bad plot that has almost nothing to do with the movie. Do you remember Brock getting fired because he dressed up like black Spiderman and mugged people? How about MJ breaking up with Peter because he got nasty and knocked over a wine glass? What about Sandman's kid locked in the trunk of the taxi that MJ was dangling from at the end? I would like to know if Activision was simply not told the majority of the plot or if they just decided to kind of made it up as they went along?
Second the short length. After long side missions I beat the game in 7 hours. I bet you could finish the game in less than 5 without the side missions. They also cut several storylines from the PS2 version like Kingpin, Rhino, and Scorpion.
Third, it looks like they replaced the actors with zombies. Mary Jane looks the worst. Seriously though, this game is a textbook example of the uncanny valley.
Fourth the controls suck. There is a slight delay in your attacks, so combat is hard to get used to. Also they removed many of the fun moves from Spider-Man 2.
There are also tons of glitches. I loved it when in a mission a guy decided to stand on my shoulders, or get carried in the air slightly to the left of me. Also you can frequently fail a mission because all of these glitches.
Finally the amount of loading is ridiculous. For example if you have just completed a mission this is what will happen. First loading, then text says "Mission passed!" followed by more loading. You get a few XP then loading...again. Five second cut scene. You guessed it - more loading.

There is some good in the game. Bruce Cambell as usual is a top notch narrator. Also the gang wars are an improvement on 2 and actually makes it seem like what you do positively affects the city.

In the end this is a depressingly bad game. Spider-Man 2 was infinitely better. Even the average Ultimate Spider-Man was better than this. Buy virtually any other Spiderman product and you'll be better off.

Just Another Average Spider-Man Game.

The SPIDER-MAN 3 game loosely follows the plot of the SPIDER-MAN 3 movie. Harry Osborne as the New Goblin tries to kill Peter/Spider-Man. Venom sneaks into Peter's house and joins itself with his Spidey suit. Flint Marko is turned into Sandman and starts stealing money throughout New York. Eddie Brock gets involved in a serious competitive rivalry with Peter and the game concludes with a massive battle involving four characters with different powers. There are some differences between the general plot of the game and the general plot of the movie, but overall they are very similar. There's also a subplot in the game involving the Lizard. This subplot is almost as long as the regular plot and allows interaction with many more characters.

As far as game play, I was a bit disappointed by SPIDER-MAN 3. You can swing all around New York City, which is really cool. However, there aren't very many maneuvers and combos and Spidey's overall fighting style really suffers because of it. You are able to use the Venom costume and it increases Spider-Man's strength and health, but it can only be used for a limited amount of time. It would have been nice to actually be able to go into some buildings instead of just swinging around them. There's also a fairly long load time between scenes. Normally this isn't too big of a deal, but is annoying when fighting bosses. Most of the actors from the movie lend their voices to the video game and Bruce Campbell once again returns in vocal form as the games narrator.

Overall, the game isn't too bad, but it does seem like it was put together rushed in order to coincide with the release of the film. I realize that the filmmakers want to capitalize on the movie's release date, but they'd probably make more money if they allowed for a little more time on the game's development. The game isn't too difficult for younger and novice players, is a decent game for average gamers, and will probably be frowned upon by master gamers.

A Good (Not Great) Addition To Your Spider-Man Library

Let me start off by saying that I fully agree with the mixed reviews. I fully enjoyed the game, but found many annoying things in it, as well. Will you like it? If you enjoyed Spider-Man 2 and Ultimate Spider-Man, then yes. Spider-Man 3 plays a lot like both games with respect to the third movie and a few other villains that are added just like in the previous Spider-Man games.

The game feels very rushed--far too many loading screens (which not only take away from the game's pace, but also cuts-off a lot of dialog), a few glitches (landing on the ground right up against some buildings will make you fall through the ground and into nothingness causing the game to automatically reset/restart missions, people walking through objects), poor sub-missions (the "City on Alert" missions are easy, but tacky--delivering a pie to only later have to save the pie from being kidnapped? Are you kidding me?), and mediocre voice acting add to the bad reviews.

The game's main plot follows the Spider-man 3 movie fairly close in terms of what to do and length of gameplay (movie plot only lasts for a few hours--far too short). There is a sub-plot as you follow the path of the Lizard. This sub-plot is about as lenghty as the main plot, but does add well to the game and gives you more bosses to battle. The only negative here with the Lizard in this game is that I am hearing that the fourth movie will be based on the Lizard as the main villain. That kind of eats at any Spider-man 4 the game ideas and originality.

The game engine is familiar as the game-play is very similar to Spider-Man 2. A few things were taken out (sprinting, slow-mo spider-sense), but the added ability to fight in the black suit not only adds to the fun, but also adds to your strategy as you can't fight in the black suit all day or it will knock you out and cause you to fail your mission if you fight too much with it on at one time. Fighting is basic button mashing, but add-ones and upgrades are available to purchase with your hero experience points (sound familiar). The movie plot is obviously in the game, but you can pretty much go your own path and fight some of the other villains (like the Lizard) in the game whenever you choose.

Graphically, the game looks quite good. It's a tad cartoon-ish, but Spider-Man is based off a comic book; therefore, personally, I didn't mind the looks of the game at all. Voice acting is good, with the exception of James Franco (Harry Osborne/Goblin). He needs a serious lesson in doing voice-overs. Cameras and controls are a tad rough at times, but if you didn't mind them in previous Spider-Man games, then you won't have a problem here, either.

Also added is the timed action button sequences (ala RE4 or the God of War games) where a button symbol shows on the screen and you have to press that corresponding button as soon as it shows or you take damage. However, where it's a nice addition, it's not done well--you have what seems like all day to press the correct button, wait a minute, and then press another button. If these sequences were sped up to the pace like in the GoW games, then this would be a welcome addition. Since it's not done well, this just adds to the "game feels rushed" negatives.

Overall, the game is quite solid. It was rushed to join the movie release, but it is enjoyable and worth a purchase. Take the good with the bad and you will enjoy yourself with Spider-man 3.
