Compared to Rogue Spear...

I bought this after playing a lot of Rogue Spear. There were some things I liked, and some that I didn't. There are a few things that I really like-
1. SNIPING! You're outdoors most of the time, with big maps and plenty of opportunity for sniping. That was one thing I really missed in Rogue Spear.
2. Kneeling and LYING PRONE!
3. The new dynamic planning feature.. You can plan your waypoints in the field instead of doing it all beforehand.
My opinion- If you liked Rogue Spear, then this is a great addition to your game collection. I still play Black Thorn and Ghost Recon a lot, interchangeably, depending on whether I'm in the mood for CQ combat or Ranger-style field combat (SNIPING!!)..
The only reason I give 4 out of 5 stars is that I'm an SQA engineer and could rant to these guys about the things they need to work on. Its still a very good game.
GHOST RECON IS FREAKIN' AWESOME!!!

Lets get one thing straight, Ghost Recon is the best squad-based shooter out there. Go buy this GOTY Edition if you don't already own this game. And buy the new mission pack, ISLAND THUNDER, too. And when R6: Raven Shield is released buy that too, and , and...
Best Game - EVER!

This is the BEST first person shooter, BEST squad based shooter, BEST military sim, most IMMURSIVE, most replay, computer game/simulation I have EVER played, and I have played many.
I got hooked on the XBOX version so much that I got the PC version just for the extra missions. Now I am hooked on the PC version even more. I can't get enough. I spend many spare-time hours (and some that aren't spare) playing Ghost Recon.
Thank you Tom Clancy, UBI soft, and Red Storm for giving me the best simulated military experience ever. So real that I can't begin to convey the feeling.
12 on a 10 scale. Buy it. If you like FPS, you will not be disappointed. You can thank me later.
Love it

I don`t know what i`ve been told, but Ghost Recon`s worth its weight in gold. Sound off,one,two,three.....
This is a great game. Grenades blowing off, gunshots everywhere. Real cool. It cost a lot of money though. I can`t wait to get the exspansion pack. I should have bought the bundle.
If you think this is a Rainbow Six game, you are wrong. But if you played them you might be used to this game. If you are not used to this kind of game, you will be jumping out of your seat.....literally. You got to buy this game. It`s almost the best First person shooter i`ve played. Take my advice and, buy this game. It cost some money...but it`s worth it! That`s why I gave this a war-torn five out of five.
Awesome Game!

First of all congrats to Ubi, keep up the great work. This game is a must have for any gamer. I will admit though, that this game takes a lot of carefull planning, movements, and force. The controls are fairly simple, and the maps very well designed. The enemy AI is amazing, while your allies seem like they didn't make it past high school. I am soooo glad my dad bought me this game and i reccomend it to anyone who enjoyed rainbow six and rogue spear. Definately deserves game of the year. If you like this be sure to check out ubi's latest project, Raven Shield.
Happy gaming!
My favorite game of all time!

In Ghost Recon, you command a squad of elite U.S. Special Forces soldiers (a.k.a. the Green Berets) as you prevent a group of Russian radicalists that are trying to recreate the USSR. You use authentic U.S. Army weaponry (M16A2, M4, M249 SAW, etc.) to eliminate enemies in large, detailed environments.
This is the best game I have ever played. Since I am very interested in the U.S. military, I bought this game and was pleasantly surprised with it. It's very realistic, and some people complain about it being too hard, how you have to crawl around, how the enemies see you, everything. Well, to play this game successfully, you need to have TACTICS. There is a "Shuffle" key that makes you more silent when sneaking up on enemies and such. Also, as you progress through the game, you can add stat points to your soldiers to make them more stealthy, increase their skill with weapons, increase endurance, leadership, and more. Military buffs and fans of other Tom Clancy games should check this one out, you'll enjoy it!
Best FPS

This game is fantastic. The Ghost Recon community has created wonderful mod packs to add weapons, maps and missions. The only disappointment is UBI.COM. Their (UBI) online gaming system is terrible. The best way to play online is to have a friend host it over the internet.
This game is okay

This game is really worth the money if you like Tom Clancy Style games. It is really realistic and really fun aswell. Redstorm has almost mastered outdoor maps and stuff in this game but the one problem that I found was that it has limited options on choosing weapons and stuff. You can only carry 2 things. It is still a good game though. I would reccomend it to anybody who likes realistic, 1st person shooters.
Too difficult/complicated

Sorry folks, but I thought this game was a little too difficult to play (or even "survive in").
I appreciate the need for realism. But for me personally, there is a balance between realism & "play-ability".
I'm not into "puzzle-solving" as much as I am "shoot-them-badguys!"
Don't get me wrong; I'm not some e-wussy who only plays Pac-Man on Sundays - I absolutely LOVE both Wolfenstein games (early 1990's as well as 2004(?).) When it comes to blood & guts gore - the first Soldier Of Fortune game was sheer heaven (please see my review), and "SOF2" was great too (albeit LESS violent, alas).
But Ghost Recon is too darn complicated to learn, the controls are rigid & not configurable - and I get killed too damn fast!
One last note - When I gave it two stars I was being generous. Now that I've reconsidered, I cannot downgrade it to one star, but I would if I could.
Long Live The UnderAchievers!!!
