Nothing substantially new here, but so what? If you are like me, and just couldn't get enough of Unreal's unique feel, this is just the ticket. The levels are as pretty as ever, and how can you beat the ambiance of that soundtrack? If you're looking for the "latest and greatest," you may be disappointed. But, if you just want another dose of what made the original game so phenomenal, order up a copy.
A great addition for Unreal

I must strongly disagree with what the critics review at the top was. It sounds like someone who wanted a totally different expansion pack. I don't understand why people review things like this and say "it wasn't completely different." Well, if it were, then it wouldn't be an expansion pack, would it? It would be a new game.
This really is simply an addition, but I think it's a great one. There are a few new weapons: a rocket launcher, a machine gun, and a grenade launcher. Not too bad.
A few new monsters were included too. A space marine that has killer AI. The pack hunter which looks like a baby dinosaur (size of a small dog), and they are FAST. You can't outrun them. Finally, a spider, which is pretty well detailed and usually hidden in dark areas. They spit green acid (or something like that) at you. Pretty easy to kill, but hard to see.
My biggest complaint is the turn speed. You turn down your left/right arrow, then it slowly turns, then picks up. It's almost like a gradual turn. Unreal is much better about this. You will probably want to use your mouse instead. I found this to be particularly annoying.
Overall, I would get this simply because they have added a few quirks to it, and have some new architecture which looks very nice. Plus there are SEVERAL cut scenes. The game starts with one, ends with one, and after each level, your person narrates what he has been through.
This might not blow you away, but if you like expansion packs and understand that they are not designed to reinvent the game, you will probably like this one.
Very well done and if you are a fan of Unreal, you owe it to yourself to give this a shot.
