The game is basically boring unless you have a photogenic memory for all of the vassals and their powers. It moves too slow. Very disappointing.
Worst Game EVER!

As a long time gamer I must say that this is the epitome of a mediocre game. Bad graphics, bad gameplay, bad all. I looked forward to a Stronghold-like experience, where you got to build up your caste, instead, you get to "upgrade your caste" what the heck? this must be the single worst sim-game I have ever played.
I read their forums. Everyone there was concerned about the announced price. It was supposedly a new "marketing" strategy, but its just a blunder dressed up with a tie.
(...)NOT WORTH YOUR TIME
NOT WORTH THE DRIVE TO YOUR GAME RETAIL STORE
DONT BUY IT, PERIOD.
Disappointed but hopeful

I have read several of the reviews on this sight and must agree that it is disappointing when a game is delayed. I enjoyed Lords II but found it lacking in both depth and replayability. I was delighted to here that Lords III had much more depth of play and a more refined story line. It is unfortunate that the game was delayed. I have been waiting for the sequel for years now so, no one is more disappointed than I am. But, we must realize that very sofisticated and detailed games sometimes have setbacks. We can only hope that this setback will produce a better product...with excellent playability and free of bugs. However, I remain sceptical. The studio had better put out an exceptional product...BUG FREE...to justify such a delay. I gave the game Three stars only because I cannot rate a game based on a one minute trailer.

I'm a little disappointed about the fact that Sierra announced the release of LOR III in 2002. The latest review states Spring 2004. I hope the game will be released before summer holidays. If I was to work like that as an independent engineer, I would have been bancrupt by now.
Please release this game, I'm disappointed in the other games that were announced as the successors to LOR II (and I can't get LOR II startet on my new PC with XP Pro!)
Just a thought

I am really looking forward to this game (Huge fan of the Lord of the Realms II) and I think that with these changes it might even improve a great bit on the first two. But lets not make our judgments on the game when it hasn't come out yet. I was reading other reviews where people had already decided not to buy the game just because it had been delayed(admittedly a very long time) but its a game folks, if it had been released earlier we all would have been very disapointed. Atleast this way although I had to wait for the game, I can feel pretty confidant that Impressions is just trying to make sure they release a good game.
Better than #2

This game is going to be GREAT!!! I only have Lords2 and that one is very addictive and fun. After a while Lords2 gets boring because nothing really changes, but i've been on the Lords3 website and it looks great.
i love LOR and LORII !!!!

man the only thing that sucks about this game is the time it took those guys to release the game!!!! this game is a kind of like the Total war series, except, this game is much more deep in the management part of the game...in other words, this isn't a game where you just build an army then pummel the other guy n2 pulp.....superb graphics from what ive seen, and a great buy because of its replayability! as i said before, the only thing that is bad, is the wait i had to endure for the game to be released!
mediocre

Hey, for $20 what do you expect? The game is OK, but not great. I liked the graphics and the GUI, and the game is still fun to play. I have 2 problems with it, though. Firstly, they took out too much of the management side of the game - this version is really all about the warfare side of the game. Secondly, it crashes my system constantly. Very buggy.
I think this game is better than some opinions mentioned

Hey, I love this game, multiplayer is cool...thats the best part of it and makes ya think when ya face real humans.
The Vassel System brings depth to the game, but in away takes away slightly. But, cool thing is theres between 2,000-2,500 vassels in the game itself...with certain strenghts and weaknesses.
The only negative is the interface...makes the game harder than it really is...its the stratigic interface thats hard, but once ya learn it your fine. So yes there is learning curves as well...
Battle interface is great...huge improvement over lords 2...
Sieges graphicly are good, but interface gets alittle clumsy there...when your men get in there castle gets kind of messy.
All I can say is take the time to learn the game and you'll love it, at first glance you might not like it, but once you get to play more and more as well as with multiplayer you'll love the game.
So far so good

Graphics are nice. No freezing or bugs as of yet. Running XP. I was bit aprehensive ordering on the 2nd day out but still giving it a fair shake. Love the formation troop control and individual battles. Strategic level really isn't that different from Lord's II. Still learning the subtleties of the game and will be going head to head with another buddy soon to test multiplayer. Heck ... its worth the $20 bucks to learn and play.
