Great game, a masterpiece in every aspect although the only thing that frustrated me was the answering of a cell phone after completion of a mission when a cop was still shooting me... you know what I am talking about if you pick this game up.

Impressive!!!! I wait for a long time to have this games on my hands ,its great and a must for every owner of a PS3.

As usual with all GTA games, the technology is great. I am so glad there are so many references back to Vice City and the lot. I really hated San Andreas for the theme and all of the crap negative rap music. GTA4 brings back some of the coolest music, but still, the pot smoking regaee bit annoys the bloody heck out of me, especially when you want to go in the pool hall!

If previous GTA titles have disappointed you GTAIV will be a turn for the best. Rockstar has combined good graphics with a great story line and even better gameplay. It seems they have read my brain, considered everything I didn't like about San Andreas and Vice City and greatly improved all of them. First of all, graphics are way better. Now, they are not incredible graphics but they are a great leap forward from the monotonous shapes and colors of previous games. Given I had to change brightness settings on my screen, Rockstar finally was able to make it realistic.
Second, the story line is excellent. IN previous GTA'a I was very dissatisfied with every main character being a Tony Montana in the works. In contrast, Nico Bellick seems like an average person just trying to get through by killing, stealing and doing everyother type 1 crime possible.
Third, and most importantly, this game has one of the best gameplay I've had. Remember all those stupid semi-missions you had to do in San Andreas like going to the gym to "get in shape"? GONE. Remember those endless amounts of missions? GONE. Remember that incredibly-big-takes-you-20-minutes-to-travel area map? GONE. Remember that frantic running when you pressed the x button? GONE. In place of all those innecesary and anoying problems, the game now has more interesting storyline, user frienlier controls (yes, its possible), and a whole bunch of stuff that you will be surprise to discover.
After all this babbling I have to say that I was a little skeptical about buying GTAIV since I was so dissapointed by previous titles. Now I am very satisfied with the product and glad I didn't pass on it as I first thought.

PS. Not enough time to talk about excellent online play, have to get back to 16 person deathmatch in times square.

Let me start off by saying that at first i was quite reluctant to buy GTA4 after playing the previous games but something kept telling me to just give this a try and boy was my gut feeling right.It is by far the most fun i have ever had playing a game.Sure...just like any game it does have a few flaws but nothing worth missing out on this for.The graphics could have been better but still a gigantic leap forward from the previous GTA games and the load times can get a dash bit annoying but other than that i honestly can't think of anything else negative about this game.The sound is fantastic,the game play is top notch,plot is superb,voice acting is excellent,the intensity of the missions never seem to disappoint even if you have to keep trying again and again to get it right,the driving of all vehicles feel splendid and finally the living breathing enviornements are truly something for all gaming fans to experience as it is simply one of a kind.I bow down to ROCKSTER games for a phenemonal effort in this series.Keep it up guys.I salute you.

Weirdest GTA ever, you can get really lost in Liberty City. Largest universe ever, you can run or drive, work and so on., It's not old cheat&laugh GTA, it's what I can call Action Dramma.

i bought a ps3 just to play this game and i think its worth it but not after i beat the game, theres not much you can do after you finish the game, tho theres still the multiplayer and it still fun but the single player is kinda of useless now. but still its a good game

First GTA experience ever, and what a surprise! The graphics are great and the music and sound tracks are awesome. The learning curve for someone used to a Wii is a little steep, first game on a PS3. So my review has little merit except for those other beginners that want a cool rush right from the start. The moral issues were a little surprising , a little over the top,,,why is all that crapola necessary

This game is fun.
Its fun but it has to many problems,
-there are no checkpoints
-the car handling sucks
-The online is completely unplayable, i can almost never get into a game and when i do it says returning to singleplayer. There is baically no menu in the online, if you want to swith to another match you have to quit then start another session and try your luck again.
-The graphics suck. there is nother way to put it. Rockstar didnt use the ps3 to any of its potential and I know this might sound very fanboyish but I blame it on the inferior 360 specs maybe miscrosoft payed them to not make ps3 version better /fanboy rant.

Alright the following is something that comes to me as good and bad-
-stunting, iremember in previous gta's the world was unrealistic so it allowed for extreeme stunting but now this game is really realistic so ostunting is different now, its still fun but its not what i was used to.

This review might sound extremely negative but i want to say this is the funnest game ever, and by fun i mean that yo can spend countless hours without a worry, you might get a little frustrated because there is no checkpoints but you'll still have a blast.

The reason I give it 4/5 stars is because like I said the online sucks and I was really looking forward to it.

But otherwise I completely reccomend this game, it is a must have.
