Game is fun, but the translation is terrible!

I am having a lot of fun playing my copy of MonsterSeed, but my main problem with the game is that the language that they use is not english, although it contains english words. Once you learn the ways the programmers use the language, the game becomes sort of fun. [for instance, "Suicide" turns out to mean "Attack only the other Monster Ruler", not "kill yourself", as most people would think]. The random encounters do not occur as often as they do in FF7, which is a relief. One down side to the game is that you have to return to the town every time you want to save the game (so far, the quests that the game has given me have each taken about an hour to an hour and a half to complete without foreknowledge; if you already knew what to do, you could probably finish each one in forty minutes). The "battle mode" would have been much better if it didn't use a 90 degree view; when you summon many monsters the screen often gets a bit crowded. Contrary to the packaging, this game does contain some mild profanity. Overall, I would say that this game is good, but expect to spend at least an hour getting used to how they (mis)use english.

fun game and great graphics

It was a cute game. You have to learn to fight rulers and monsters with monsters and moves of your own. In your adventures you gain monster seeds and potions then you hatch the seeds. Every monster comes with different powers. You also gain potions and spells that can heal you and your monsters or inflict damage on your enemy. I couldn't stop playing the game untill I had finished. It had some of the best graphics I have seen but no blood shed. I didn't like that the monsters cussed. It normally wouldn't bother me but it seemed very out of place in this game.

wow, this game is hella cool

hmmm... good game. If you liked Dragon Warrior Monsters, Final Fantasy Tactics, or Dragon Seed (no relation), you'll love it. This game incorperates a monster hatching system like DWM and one of the best battle systems ever, the FFT/Tactics Ogre system. The translation is terrible, but it doesnt affect the game too much, and adds a few laughs to generally grim gameplay. The fights are very grim, as anyone who falls and is not raised immediatly says a few final word and then dies, even though the fighting is presented as a sport in the arena. Plenty of cool looking beasties to look as as well as some cutsie ones to stomp on. Buy it.

I'm reviewing RPG, Adventure and Strategy games, this game is a mixture between Jade Cocoon and Final Fantasy 7.

In this game you play the role of a character named Daniel, you're somebody called a Ruler, you can collect "seeds" and hatch and mix in "solutions" to make stronger monsters.

This game was good because you can make your own monsters and carry as many as you want.It was also good because the game always has something good or bad happening.

If they made it to where you cant get "deformed" monsters there would be a better variety of monsters. What would also make it better would be to make more "seeds".

People who like Adveture,Drama, and making your own Monsters will like this game.

I think Monster Seed is a VERY cool game. .... If you're a graphics nut, than you won't want to go for this game. It has very poor graphics, i.e. the people have no noses, but the cinematics scene in the beginning is VERY impressive. The battle system is easy to get used to, but the "ENCOUNTER: Your Start" gets old pretty quick. All in all, a good game.

What? ANOTHER Monster game?

Generally, I like any video game that has to do with monsters, but I can't see why anyone would like this game. The monsters were very well animated, and so were their attacks, but the characters were pretty pathetic. They have little dots for eyes and weird looking faces. I believe that one of the bad guys even has a split lip. even if you are into monster games, you'd have to be pretty desperate to buy this one since there are so many other good ones out there. I DID like the concept of setting the incubation when hatching monsters, but this game is just to similar to other monster games to get any enjoyment out of it. There's also the fact that the screen is rather like a giant coordinate plane, and gets crowded and hard to manuver on VERY quickly. The character's talk to eachother before they throw a hit, and that would have been okay if they didn't say the same things over and over. And WHY in blazes does Daniel keep saying "Ora ora ora! " It drives me nuts! I don't HATE this game, I just don't think its worth spending money on.

short but loads of fun

I was able to beat monster seed in two weeks(along time for me).
No I am not saying that this game is hard or any thhing but it was fun to get new seed and hach them.
This game should have been a little longer (around three disks).

Still I would sugest this game to any RPG fan.

I hated this game!

This game was horrible. If you want somthing like final fantasy or dragon warrior monsters this is not the game for you. How the main character kept saying"Ora Ora Ora" got very annoying. The graphics stunk and so did the storyline. It is not worth your money. I would not reccomend this game to anyone.
