Legends the orginal for the ps2, gamecube, and xbox was a first for Acclaim. It had good wrestlers even some of them i did not know who the heck they were. The sequel looks good and better than the first if acclaim can fix the problems that were in the first game. If the game is good that prehaps Acclaim can add current legends like Understaker, The rock, Stonecold, Shawn Michaels, Kurt Angel, Brock Lesener, and a few WCW favorites like Goldberg, STing, Ric Flair, and Booker T in a 3rd sequel.
I think Acclaim should look at THQ's WWF Smackdown! series and try to match head to head with the gameplay and storymode and match types.
HULK RULES!

Legends of Wrestling II is so much better than LOW1. For one thing, the gameplay is so much faster. It has over 65 wrestlers. It also has a ladder match, cage match, 6 and 8 man battle royal, a battle royal with 30 legends, 6 and 8 man tag matches, a career mode with storylines, and the best match, the $15,000 bodyslam match with Big John Studd. The Worst thing about the game is the choice of wrestlers: Why is Eddie Guererro in it? Why isn't Diesel in it? Why aren't Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon in it so you could relive the best ladder match of all time? Where are Ric Flair, Undertaker, The Ultimate Warrior, Lex Luger, Randy Savage, and Mr. Perfect? Even though you can't be those guys, you can be other great wrestlers. Like Andre the Giant, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, the Steiners, The Nasty Boys, The Von Eriches, Mr. Wonderful, Bruno Sammartino, and the best of all, Andy Kaufman. I suggest you buy this game.

If you are a TRUE Fan of wrestling and have been for at least 10 years you will love this game! It features the best of the best!
or at least 65 of the best wrestlers! Legends has a revolutionary style of gameplay for classic wrestling fans!
If you are a fan of WWE you will most likely not enjoy this game due to it being for an older audience!
Wrestling is a soap opera more than ever now and newer fans will not understand Legends! There are not wrestlers like Rock,Austin,Undertaker as well as others in the WWE becuase they are ONLY Lisenced to WWE! Which makes them unavailable to other makers except who WWE Lisences them to! ALSO The Rock and Austin and Kane ARE DEFINANTLY NOT LEGENDS!
DO NOT BUY THIS GAME IF YOU ARE NOT A TRUE WRESTLING FAN!
MEANING IF YOU HAVE JUST BEGAN TO ATCH WRESTLING DURING THE Austin years!
This is a game for the older wrestling audience who appreciate wrestling rather than stories!
No point in getting this in lieu of the amazing SD 4!

If you own a PS2, there's only one wrestling game out there and that's SD4. There's no excuse on the planet for anyone who owns a PS2 to purchase this title.
Yeah, LoW2 is improved from last year's...but that's not saying much at all. It's still complete trash.
I made the mistake of taking my optimism from the awesome Smackdown 4 and somehow hoping beyond hope this game would be good, too. I really thought and hoped maybe they'd make this a decent game.
It isn't.
Yes, the gameplay is a little better. But again, that' really not saying much. You're still randomly crushing buttons hoping something works. The graphics are cartoonish but decent enough. The whole thing still feels...choppy and uncertain. The logic behind the gameplay just isn't that well done. Supposedly a lot of it is based on timing, but after being spoiled by SD 4 smooth and fluid controls where you can actually get something done, this hails from the Stone Age.
The sound? Well, at least on the Xbox can you do a custom soundtrack. You'll want that, believe me! Can't do that on any other console, unfortunately. It's mostly annoying rock music that you would never spend a cent on otherwise.
The wrestling intros look and sound a lot better than the first one. That's about the biggest improvement overall.
The premise behind this series is amazing, but I guess the age old adage is still true: If it's from Acclaim, steer clear. What an unacceptable, squandered opportunity this game is. I wish Acclaim would give it up, because I just don't think they can make a really good game. Mediocrity has always been the Acclaim way.
Oh well, at least I can use SD 4's CAW and make all these guys anyway. The heck with this!
SD4 is your hook up! Holla if you hear me!!
Not worth it

This is a horribly slow and boring game. The characters don't move like humans and more like stiff clay figures. Success in story mode is based on pops from the crowd. Nice concept, but must I follow the same pattern just to get my popularity quotient up? And the game is quite prone to random button-mashing strategies.
I'm especially disappointed in the modeling of Bret Hart: the "Bret Hart" in the SD4 Create-A-Wrestler looks more like the Hitman than the "El Generico" character in LoW II. (To be fair, the rest don't fair so badly: Andre the Giant was well done, as well as Andy Kaufman. Yes, ANDY KAUFMAN.)
There is one shining star: the fifteen 3-5 minute shoot interviews (under game extras). It's fun to see the "Million Dollar Man" DiBiasi talk about how poor he was as a wrestler, and Jerry "the King" Lawler reminisce about his match with Andy Kaufman. Other interviewees (fifteen in all) are Rocky ("Father of the Rock") Johnson, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Hulk Hogan, Bob Backlund, George "The Animal" Steele, and Jimmy Hart. This is the ONLY reason to rent out game. Otherwise, don't bother.
Acclaim is STILL the KING!!!

There are just some game companies you know are good, like EA Sports. Acclaim is one of them. Like EA Sports being the king of sports games, Acclaim does it for wrestling games. So what if it's only arcade style? It's still good. As long as I remember getting or wanting a wrestling game, I can never remember not getting or wanting a game made by Acclaim. Their rasslin' games are the best. The Arcade style gameplay makes it fun. So what if you have to press 3 or 4 buttons to do a finisher? It makes you work harder to finish off your opponent. Anyway, Legends 2, by MOST reveiws say that it's a good game. Those people are right. All you other [people] know that the only reason you don't like it is b/c it doesn't have current wrestlers in it. Read the title. It clearly says LEGENDS OF WRESTLING. Not current legends. Anyway, w/ the Steel Cage, 6 and 8 Men Tag, Battle Royal, and more REAL Legends, this game will become another wrestling classic.
Gave it a try.....eh.

I read a lot of the reviews on this board and first off let me say that I'm not a new wrestling fan. I didn't jump on the bandwagon when the soap opera of the WWF/E started. Saying that, I was going into this with high hopes.
The controls are pretty good. Not great, not horrible. However, MUCH better than Acclaim's previous control system.
Graphics...wow. I read the reviews that said they were 'cartoony' and I actually usually like that look. But cartoony is an understatement. These guys look like comic book characters. Sid Vicious is 3 times bigger than the Incredible Hulk would be. A little TOO cartoonish.
Music. Not bad, definitely not what you'd expect for an "old-school" wrestling game though.
The cage and ladder matches are pretty good. Nice idea, and good system for that. Best features in the game.
Well, I'm tired of writing this review. All in all I'm glad I rented it first. DEFINITELY rent it before buying and if you weren't a wrestling fan before the emergence of Stone Cold I wouldn't suggest this.
