Excellent transition from 2d to 3d

I played and beat this game with every character. As you can assume , I am 2D King of Fighters (KoF) series fan, so I might have given Max Impact a little better rating than average Joe, but imagine you have 3d motions almost the quality of Soul Calibur 2, doable plain vanilla combos and really flashy and unrealistic desperation moves which made me laugh and enjoy 2D KoFs. This game might not become famous as Tekken or Virtua Fighter but for me, it was much more enjoyable (and shorter).

King of fighters have always been known as one of the best 2D fighting games ever, Fans have never been pleased because of the graphics but how the game play has been and it's characters. But this game has something new and different, Something surprising KOF fans. An Snk game in 3D! Don't be mad fans, The graphics are quite acceptable for PS2. Some 3D models look good (The new characters and Terry) And some models look bad( Yuri, Kyo) So far we know there are 4 new characters and with a total of 26, The new characters are Alba, Soiree, Lien neville and mingnon.
So far the gameplay looks like its gonna be a little 1 on 1... It shoud atleast be tag or so. But i hope this game does good because that 3D Fatal fury game was not a hit... But KOF still will be 2D ;-).

I am a KOF newbie but Ithink this is the best one. I just think it. I have, however seen trailers of the 2D ones and boy, they do look very crappy. I have beated the game several times and I can give you some advices:

Play as those guys, they are the best:
Athena Asamiya
K'
Mai Shiranui

Duke

Dont fight those, they are experts:
Kyo Kusanagi
Clark Still
K'
Maxima
Ralf Jones
Chae Lim

Do not select those, they suck:

Iori Yagami
Yuri Sakazaki
Ryo Sakazaki

Go against those, the stink badly:

I may have repeated characters in diffirent lists but thats because some characters like Kyo Kusanaki are worse when you control them. I play mostly as the better characters such as:
Lien
Duke
Athena
Maxima

I usually fight AGAINST the worse:
Leona
Mignon etc.

Sound 7.5
Gameplay 9.5
Long lasting 10
Overall 10

Final Verdict:
Nothing wrong with this one except the voices sometimes SUUUUUUUCK and the lips move when they are talking and they do not move when they talk.

This game is not that great, as a KOF fan I'm a little disappointed. I give it three stars because they animated the female fighters pretty good ^_^ otherwise I would have given it two. The gameplay is mediocre and the voice acting is horrific, also their mouths move when they aren't talking. Save your money and stick to the 2D versions.
